Global Cataclysm: Start building a floating island

Chapter 31 Titan Worm

Chapter 31 Titan Worm
After a while, the convoy left the suburbs and drove towards the teleportation point more than ten kilometers away along the Gobi Desert.

However, at this moment, they felt a slight vibration from the ground, which was not obvious because they were sitting in the car.

But through the car window, you can see the gravel on the ground is jumping, and the fine sand is falling from the rocks.

Lin Ye frowned, and immediately called the companion behind him through the radio in the car:
”The plan has changed, follow me to avoid it!”

After finishing speaking, he stepped on the accelerator and drove the wheeled armored vehicle towards the rock wall outside the city.

After hiding the convoy in the shadow of the rock, Lin Ye quickly got off the car and gently placed his hands on the ground.

He felt that the vibration was stronger than before, as if something was rushing towards him.

He took out the binoculars from the car and looked towards the direction of the source of the earthquake.

In the line of sight, a dark line appeared in the southeast.

As the picture zoomed in, Lin Ye discovered that it turned out to be an army composed of thousands of walking corpses, rushing towards the ruins of the city like a tide.

In less than a minute, corpses had poured into the ruins of the city.

The sound of landmine explosions continued to be heard in the street, but they didn’t stop, they continued to run forward tirelessly.

And the gangster base just now was where they passed by, and it was full of human corpses, but the walking corpses showed no sign of stopping.

What are they chasing?
This phenomenon is very strange and completely inconsistent with the logic of the walking corpse’s behavior, but the next scene surprised everyone in Lin Ye.

Just a few kilometers away, among the ruins of the urban area in the southeast, a large cloud of dust more than ten meters high suddenly rose.

There were also many building wreckages that were directly thrown into the sky, and some of them fell near where Lin Ye was.

”What is that?” Nan Xiao, who was sitting on the door pedal of the Predator, couldn’t help standing up and looking around.

Lin Ye stared at the huge figure in the smoke and dust, and said in a voice that everyone could hear:

”Third-order Zerg, Titan Worm!”

At the same time, a translucent window opened in front of him, which recorded detailed information about such creatures:
[Faction: Zerg]

[Introduction: Tier [-] Titan Worm, Low Tier Zerg Engineer]

[Characteristics: Alien creatures similar to Mongolian worms, with a body size of up to [-] meters, with thick skin with extremely high defensive power on the body surface, which is extremely destructive; around the mouthparts full of spikes, there are keen senses organ; after the mouthparts are fully opened, it can easily swallow a heavy truck]

[Ability: The acid in the body is super corrosive, it can dissolve the rock formation in a short time and dig a channel]

[You can get survival points by killing: 2500[+25%]]

Looking at the huge gray-white figure, Lin Ye put down the binoculars, his expression full of doubts:

No, how did the third-order creatures appear so early?
The catastrophe progressed faster than expected, which made Lin Ye feel a little uncertain.

It seems that upgrading the floating island must be put on the agenda as soon as possible!
At this time, the dust raised by the titan worms had already spread from the southeast to the northwest, almost penetrating through the entire city of Mak.

After the huge alien zerg walked away, Lin Ye immediately put away the binoculars, turned his head and said to the people who were still watching the show:

”Let’s leave quickly, there may be more bugs coming this way later!”

His statement is not unfounded, because the worm’s pursuit of the walking dead may be just an accident, and its real purpose is to dig a tunnel.

Later, the second-level Zerg - Negative Spider will appear from the tunnel. They can carry a large number of Zerg creatures on their bodies, similar to large personnel carriers.

If precautions are taken carelessly, they will swarm in groups and come out directly from the back of the base or even the central area to launch a surprise attack.

The other people didn’t dare to delay when they heard this sentence, they immediately got into the car and started the engine, and followed the leading armored car.

In order to prevent his teleportation point from being discovered by strangers, Lin Ye stopped five kilometers away from his destination.

While integrating the four Erikan soldiers, he also sent Qin Lie to the Marauder off-road vehicle and asked him to follow Cheng Bei and the others back to the floating island to unload the cargo.

And Lin Ye’s position is located under the cliff, in the blind spot of the angle of view of the slope.

So Hassan and Erikan soldiers beside him couldn’t even detect the flickering light beams on the teleportation array.

Lin Ye was sitting in the armored vehicle, checking various data of the vehicle, when he noticed the resentful gazes of the four soldiers behind him.

Then I suddenly remembered an important thing:

From the time they were captured from the base to now, the cloth strips that sealed their mouths seemed to have never been removed.

Lin Ye left the driver’s seat, walked slowly into the compartment, and then tore off the cloth.

The major wanted to stand up straight and reason with the other party, but his hands and feet were tied to the seat, unable to move at all:
”Where are you taking us!”

Lin Ye found a place where no one was around and sat down, then leaned on the back of the chair, chuckled and said:
”Didn’t we all agree before, go to the military base where you are!”

”You tied us up like this, and still dare to go to the base, aren’t you afraid of Erikon’s army?” The major stared at him angrily, with murderous intent in his tone.

Lin Ye has seen many big scenes, this level of cruelty is not painful to him at all, not to mention, he himself did not miss anything this time.

”We’re all friends. If you don’t use knives and guns, it will affect your friendship, and the person who came to arrest you has been wiped out by me. Then you should thank me!”

The major was in a rage, and he shouted again at the top of his voice:

”Since you sincerely regard us as friends, why did you tie our hands and feet?”

Hearing this, Lin Ye immediately reached out to interrupt the other party’s words, and then responded:
”One size is one size, I am mainly afraid that you will do some irrational behavior.”

The major was so annoyed by this sentence, he turned his head and stopped talking, and leaned silently to the side waiting for rescue.

In just a few seconds, the atmosphere in the car instantly dropped to freezing point.

After more than half an hour of silence, the three of Qin Lie finally returned the same way.

With the help of mechanical exoskeletons, they can easily run fast in the desert Gobi.

After everyone got in the car, Lin Ye quickly started the engine and headed toward the Ericon military base in the southwest.

Perhaps it was because of the invasion of corpses and Zerg before, the road was not peaceful, and we would run into a few lonely walking corpses from time to time.

Their bodies were crushed by the rampaging titan worms, and while roaring, they crawled aimlessly on the ground.

After walking for more than ten kilometers, there was no sign of a town anymore along the way, and occasionally a small village appeared, which was also a dilapidated place where no one lived.

This place is not like Yancheng, or other developed urban areas. Not only are supplies extremely scarce, but the climate is also very harsh. It is impossible to survive alone for several months.

While Lin Ye was observing the surrounding environment, he found some firelight in front of him, which was quite obvious in the dark light.

So he quickly turned the steering wheel and drove towards the target location.
