Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 546: Locating the Human Temple

“No wonder this organization has managed to maintain its control over the continent for so long. With such a large number of inheritances, it’s nearly impossible for this organization to die out.”

For any enemy of the Human Temple, the Human Shrine was an obstacle that was hard to overcome.

Yet for Liora, its existence filled her with joy.

As her Blood Clone obtained the techniques and she integrated them one by one, her knowledge rapidly increased.

Even so, her footsteps did not pause.

She continued walking with her hands clasped behind her back, wandering around the streets of the giant city.

Unlike Hydra City, where she had briefly stayed before, this was far larger, both in size and population.

The reason was clear:

This was not the city controlled by a single human tribe, but the sacred city of the human race.

It was Imperial City—the “capital” of the continent, where the largest number of powerful Awakeners were gathered.

At the same time, it was the place where the Human Temple’s base was located.

—

Liora instantly sensed the Imperial City’s difference from the rest of the cities and villages she had been in before.

In particular, the countless oppressive auras looming throughout the city were impossible to ignore.

Liora sensed hundreds of Rank 7 Awakeners in just an instant, and dozens more beings beyond that.

It truly deserved its reputation as the continent’s nominal capital.

Just this city alone had more powerhouses than the entire eastern region. If Liora had attempted to cause her “Devil Disaster” at this place, she would have suffered greatly.

Liora noted this down, but she didn’t dwell on it for long.

A few moments later, she raised her eyebrows.

“There are no auras of the Human Temple in the city. It seems that, as expected, the Human Temple does not exist in reality.”

When Aaron was transferred to the Human Temple to receive guidance and enter the Human Shrine, his senses had been blocked through several methods. Although Liora could have broken them and peered through them, she knew that doing so was likely to attract attention.

Hence, even though her clone was currently within the Human Temple, she had no idea regarding its exact location.

Thankfully, Liora had other ways to track it down.

With a wave of her hand, several white lights appeared in her palm.

They were pure and holy, majestic yet gentle at the same time. It was faith, or more specifically, the faith of Liora’s believers.

The moment it appeared, it showed signs of breaking out of her grasp.

Something far away was attracting it, as though an invisible giant black hole was trying to devour it.

Liora felt its movements, but she didn’t try to stop it.

Instead, she let the faith fly out of her hand and disappear into the distance.

A moment later, her figure vanished as well.

She chased after it.

Throughout this process, no one had noticed Liora’s arrival in the city, including the pedestrians and the Awakeners who stood on guard.

Perhaps no one would have ever guessed that the ferocious Otherworld Demon everyone was looking for, the Lord of Devils and Mother of Despair who brought the destruction of the eastern region, had quietly arrived at the capital.

—

Not surprisingly, the Human Temple was not far from Imperial City.

Just a few kilometers outside its towering stone walls, an empty clearing existed.

No animals or traces of human activities could be seen, and few people would pay any attention to it.

However, Liora knew that this appearance was misleading.

Glancing at the faith in her hand, which was trying to escape her grasp and move toward a deeper space, her eyes narrowed.

Having come so close, she could now roughly sense her Blood Clone’s position. Combined with the abrupt movements of the faith, she had an idea.

Immediately, she raised her hand.

Using it as though it were a sword, she slashed at the space in front of her.

She didn’t use any of her physical strength, while her movements seemed ordinary, like those of a child playing the role of a knight.

Yet the moment her palm touched the space before her, a small gap formed.

At first, it was barely the size of a fingernail. But before long, it had expanded and turned into a giant opening.

Small fractures formed from its edges and quickly spread from it, even trying to attack Liora’s own body.

However, their efforts proved futile.

The moment the space reached her, the two seemed to exist in a different dimension, and they passed straight through her.

Space Manipulation.

The talent that had the greatest compatibility with the Law of Time on the surface, as the two could be considered two parts of the same coin.

Since most powerhouses had the ability to shatter space with their strength, opening spatial rifts to perform teleportation, this SSS-Rank talent appeared quite useless at first glance.

However, this was far from the truth.

Having awakened it, Liora understood this talent’s value.

Her relationship with space itself had gotten extremely close, and she could now do things that were previously impossible.

Countless thoughts raced through her mind, though not much time had passed in reality.

Once the gap in the space opened, the strands of faith in Liora’s hand grew out of control.

After struggling violently, they shot out of her palm and fired into the space gap.

Liora did not try to stop them. This amount of faith was negligible for her.

Now that she had achieved her purpose, she had little use for them.

As her gaze settled on the space rift before her, Liora looked thoughtful for a few moments.

Then, having judged the amount of danger to be acceptable, she plunged into it, disappearing into the bottomless darkness.

—

As expected, the Human Temple existed within a secret demi-plane, just like the Nine-Headed Hydra’s demi-plane that had once stored the corpse of the Divine Dragon.

The only difference—if one had to say—was the same as the difference between the capital and ordinary cities.

The Human Temple’s demi-plane was several times larger, both in size and population.

The moment Liora landed, several voices echoed in her ears.
