Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 502: Challengers’ Shock

The girl knew very well how powerful the previous Guardian was.

However, she felt this was natural.

After all, that person had now grown up to become a terrifyingly powerful being, standing at the same level as the War God and other mythical humans.

Yet now, the girl before her was actually one of her peers.

The challenger was unwilling to believe that someone of her age could possibly defeat the previous Guardian!

Didn’t this mean that she could also defeat her? How could she accept this?

Unfortunately, the phantom left in the Blood Arena appeared to fully mimic Liora’s personality.

She didn’t exchange a word with the girl, much less resolve her confusion.

Rather, she coldly glared at her and announced:

”I will now use 0.1% of my true strength.”

Her words left the young girl speechless.

She had already reached the sixth level of the trial.

The Guardian was supposed to exert 60% of their true power.

0.1%? Could it be that there had been some mistake?

However, the challenger soon learned the reason.

A sea of flames suddenly erupted. Pain assaulted her senses.

Before she could say or do anything, her body disintegrated into ashes.

From start to finish, she had no chance to move. It was as if someone had turned her Virtual Helmet off.

Only the phantom remained in the arena, staring coldly at the spot where she had stood before also disappearing.

”Something terrible has happened to the Rank 1 Blood Arena!”

”Ursa, it’s urgent! Please contact the Dean! The Information World must have malfunctioned!”

”This is vital to the continuation of the human race!”

The hunched man, Ursa, listened to the countless messages ringing in his mind, his emotions alternating.

Shock. Fear. Anger.

He knew the importance of the Information World. If something had gone wrong, then the Human Federation and the Human Race would face the danger of extinction!

Immediately, he stepped forward, intending to wake up his Teacher who was still within the Information World.

But before he could say anything, the War God suddenly opened his eyes.

Though only part of his consciousness returned to reality, he appeared to have seen and heard everything that had happened before.

He looked at his anxious student, his gaze turning slightly complicated. He cleared his throat.

”You don’t have to worry. There is nothing wrong with the Blood Arena.”, he comforted him.

”But Teacher, so many people have contacted me...”

Hearing this, the War God waved his hand and interrupted him.

”I already know what is going on. There is indeed no issue with the Blood Arena. It’s just that there is a new Guardian of the Rank 1 arena.”, he explained.

Looking at the astonished Ursa, who had trouble understanding what was going on, the War God remained calm on the surface, as if he had everything under control.

Only he knew, however, just how shocked he was.

Unlike his student and the various challengers, he could see the situation within the Blood Arena clearly.

He watched several people attempting to obtain the 10-Star Rating, only to be killed in a single blow.

Liora’s phantom was utterly ruthless. It had no intention of communicating, as though it existed to kill its opponents.

Furthermore, the War God didn’t know whether this was some strange hobby, but the phantom would always announce the amount of power it used before the battle began.

Watching as Liora claimed to use only 0.001% of her total power and then punched the challenger to death, the War God couldn’t help but feel speechless.

He had a hunch that the Rank 1 geniuses entering the Blood Arena in the future would have their dreams and ambitions crushed.

He strongly doubted whether anyone would ever be Liora’s match.

However, the War God was not saddened by this. Rather, he grew excited.

It was a happy event for the War Academy to have finally produced such a talented genius!

Although the other party had only been in the Academy for less than a week and had learned nothing, the War God was already considering her as his student!

”Still, the sudden emergence of such a person is slightly suspicious. I should check her background before making any decision.”, he thought, and the smile on his face vanished.

A stern expression replaced it, as his consciousness dove into the Information World and manipulated everything.

If Liora were here, she would be able to see that thousands of screens appeared in front of the War God.

They played scenes with her as the protagonist, scenes that showed what happened not only in the Information World, but also in reality!

”Huh? A genius from a remote planet? Nova Terra... Why do I feel as if I’ve heard of it before?”, the War God muttered before shaking his head and continuing his observation.

He watched Liora’s awakening, her assessment during the College Examination, as well as everything that happened after that point.

Soon, he felt he had a rough idea of what had happened.

”So... the Lord of that planet gifted her a seed of the Fire Domain. After she came into contact with the Elemental World technique, she was able to study its mysteries and thus awakened her own Domain.”

”If I’m not mistaken, she should have also mastered the 4th level of the Elemental World.”, the War God nodded, feeling as though he had understood everything.

Although this sounded outlandish and required the other party to possess heaven-defying comprehension, the War God did not find it strange at all.

Any genius was bound to be extraordinary. How could they be measured according to common sense?

It was perfectly normal for Liora to be a little smarter than others.

”This is fine. Fortunately, she is not an alien spy.”, he thought, as he continued digging deeper into her past.

Information about her parents, family, and even her thousand-generation ancestors flashed before his eyes, as if he were able to trace her bloodline to its very beginning.

”Her family is also a long-term member of the human race.”, the War God nodded in satisfaction.

But just as he was about to put an end to his investigation, a trace of surprise flashed across his eyes.

”Hmm? There is information I can’t access?”

Author’s Note: Just realized this book has reached 500 Chapters and is now nearly 600k words long. It feels quite strange, especially since in my mind it seems as though only a couple of months have passed since I began writing it.

To put it into perspective, the entire Harry Potter-book franchise (7 books in total) is less than 1.1 million words long.

This means that this book has already more than half of the entire franchise’s length! Feels crazy to me. And if nothing goes wrong, this book is far from being completed.

Anyway, thank you all for reading and supporting this book so far!
