Liora went silently through her System Panel.

Great changes had taken place since she last took a look at it, though not much time had passed.

The most obvious one was the increase in her Awakening Rank and the enhancement brought to base stats. Only a few days after her awakening, she had actually reached Rank 3.

The Predation talent certainly played a role in this. But perhaps the most crucial factor was the new Cosmic Devouring Technique.

...

[Cosmic Devouring Technique: A technique built upon the most common Cosmic Energy Refinement Technique. It integrates the creator’s insights regarding devouring, plunder, and extraction, attained through several worlds and experiences.]

[The technique transforms each cell of the user’s body into a vortex, which automatically absorbs the Cosmic Energy around them.]

...

A Rank 3 Awakener was equivalent to a True Devil, meaning that Liora had gone from an ordinary person to a True Devil in just a few days.

Though the destructive power of a Rank 3 Awakener was weaker due to the limits set by this world, this was already extremely impressive.

The Cosmic Devouring Technique, upgraded several times through the power of the System, was the main reason why Liora had been able to make such rapid progress.

Just like the System’s description said, this technique transformed every single one of her cells into a vortex, allowing them to absorb Cosmic Energy on their own.

Liora was not even required to practice.

She could feel herself growing stronger at every moment, absorbing Cosmic Energy and elevating her life level.

Having already known of these, she only briefly paid attention to these changes.

Soon, her eyes moved toward the reason why she summoned the System Panel—the Talents column.

Seeing the result of her recent hunting and the fusion of several lower-ranked talents, her face couldn’t help but break into a smile.

Testing her Predation talent and accumulating a few new talents were the reasons she had visited the forest.

Though she was ultimately unable to gain a truly powerful ability, just these were enough.

”My main focus at the moment is to mask my true talent. Although I claimed to have awakened an SS-Rank Elemental Affinity and can simulate it through my World of Heart, it’s impossible to keep doing this forever.”

”There may be a way to detect such things.”

”But with these talents, my disguise will be far better in the future.”

As for the reason why Liora had claimed to have awakened SS-Rank Elemental Affinity?

Showcasing the Predation talent was obviously impossible.

As for choosing a weaker talent, it went against her wishes, too.

Her previous experiences had taught her that one could only make rapid progress if one relied on an organization. Moreover, she might have to rely on the power of others to deal with the Hollow Ancestor.

The Human Federation, one of the apex forces in this world, was clearly the most suitable for her.

”An SS-Rank talent is extraordinary and enough to attract people’s attention. At the same time, it’s not powerful enough to draw the attention and coveting of powerhouses...”, Liora muttered, waving her hand to erase the traces of the earlier battle.

Looking up, she discovered that the sun was about to set. Several hours had passed since her arrival in the forest.

Though she wished to stay longer and hunt a few more demons, she knew very well she could not.

Shaking her head, she rose to her feet and turned around.

”It’s time to go back.”, she whispered, her figure gliding through the forest and soon leaving its boundaries.

--

No one noticed that Liora had quietly left the city.

Although high-level surveillance existed throughout the Nova Terra Planet, she had already taken precautions against them, utilizing her World of Heart to erase her presence.

Thus, even until she reached her residence, no one discovered her, much less came to stop her.

Looking at the empty house waiting for her and no one to greet her, Liora couldn’t help but miss Alpha a little.

She felt she had to do her best to bring her back. Thankfully, she already knew the way.

”The agreement with the Demon World is that I can awaken my subordinates as long as I regain Greater Devil strength. It’s close...”, Liora muttered.

”As long as I break through to Rank 4, I should be able to summon both Alpha and Scurry.”

Shifting her attention inward and sensing the surging Cosmic Energy pouring into her body, she judged it would take at most a few weeks.

By the time the College Examination was over, she should have reached Rank 4.

Shaking her head, Liora returned to her room.

Opening a drawer, she pulled out a futuristic silver helmet.

She lay down on the bed, placed the Virtual Helmet on her head, and then pressed the button on its side.

The world around her immediately began to change.

Numbers flickered, words flashed, while strange patterns were outlined, fusing to form a giant world.

”No matter how many times I see this, it still feels unreal.”, Liora couldn’t help but think.

”I’m afraid that even Ancient Devils can’t create such a realistic world, connecting the consciousness of trillions of creatures. Is it possible that there exist even more powerful beings within this world?”, she wondered.

She looked around her. She didn’t find herself in the plaza this time, but in a vast wilderness outside the city.

Seeing the rough terrain and the lack of human activities, she shook her head.

Just as she was about to complain, two mechanical beeps echoed within her mind.

A button resembling a scroll appeared at the corner of her vision. It was accompanied by a tiny red dot, seemingly prompting her to press on it.

Liora had a faint suspicion regarding the senders of the messages. After a brief pause, she didn’t hesitate to click on the scroll with her mind.

The scroll instantly unfolded, as if a hand had pulled it open.

Its surface was divided into two sections, both packed with words. As her gaze fell on the top, she began to read.

”Congratulations to Liora Augustus for...”
