Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 259: Call for Help

”Such exquisite swordsmanship! Sazlier’s plan is to catch his opponent off guard.”

”Let’s wait and see how his opponent will react!”

”Oh?! The ability to separate different parts of one’s body?”

The two participants didn’t know, but the announcer’s voice echoed in the arena, describing vividly the details of the battle taking place.

Partly because there were people who could not see what was going on, and partly because he wished to foster excitement in the audience’s hearts.

And his goal was achieved.

”I didn’t expect that the newcomer could manipulate plants! Is she related to the Withered Forest?”

”A Wood Elemental? A Wood Devil? Let’s wait to see more!”, the announcer spoke as he watched Alpha control several plants to attack her opponent.

Nobody doubted the announcer’s words.

Not only because he was a famous Lesser Devil who had reached the peak of this stage, but also because the characteristics that Alpha displayed fully matched his explanation.

In fact, the only person in the audience who knew that this was not true was Liora.

Still, even she was a little surprised.

She knew very well that Alpha was not a Wood Elemental or a Wood Devil.

Moreover, she didn’t even possess the ability to manipulate wood elements.

The method she used to achieve this was completely different.

”Utilizing Life Infusion to awaken the spirituality within the seeds, forcing them to bloom early.”

”Then, using the connection between them, controlling them to fight her opponent.”, Liora analyzed, and she couldn’t help but nod her head in approval.

Although such an ability was nothing to her, she was still satisfied with Alpha’s intelligence.

After all, this was not something that she had taught her.

Alpha had managed to develop this pseudo-ability on her own.

”No wonder she dared to step into the arena. It seems that she has not been idle during this time.”

”Still, just this is not enough for her to win...”, Liora couldn’t help but think. In fact, she had already guessed what Alpha was planning to do.

As a True Devil, Liora’s analysis would hardly be wrong regarding weaker people.

Although the Graveplate Devil was confused at first, he was able to react very quickly.

With a thought, many swords emerged from his body and revolved around him in the shape of a fan, cutting every single tree in his surroundings.

Then, he took a step forward and approached Alpha’s position.

Seeing this, Alpha didn’t wait but chose to fight back.

She continuously scattered seeds and let them bloom in an attempt to block his path.

In the end, she succeeded, causing him to stop.

But the fight was far from over.

”Sazlier can’t get close to his opponent. But similarly, the suspected Wood Elemental has trouble penetrating his tight defense.”

”The two have now fallen into a stalemate!”

”At this point, it’s a matter of whose demonic energy will run out first!”, the announcer analyzed from the side.

Of course, although he didn’t point it out, everyone knew who would emerge victorious in this confrontation.

The Graveplate Devil was a Lesser Devil, yet Alpha was only a Young Devil.

The result, in most people’s opinion, had already been decided.

Realizing this, some of them couldn’t help but shake their heads in disappointment.

”No matter how strong one’s combat power is, it ultimately doesn’t matter. That’s why we Devils have to focus on advancing further instead of practicing more abilities.”, a person beside Liora muttered as if they had realized something.

Everyone’s judgment was soon proven to be correct.

After a few minutes into their confrontation, the speed with which Alpha controlled the trees slowed down.

At the same time, her face turned pale while her legs shook, as if she were ready to collapse.

Sensing her state, the Graveplate Devil did not give up on such a good opportunity.

Taking advantage of the gap in her defense, he opened a path in the forest and flashed forward, landing beside her and launching another attack.

Having learned from the previous lesson, he didn’t choose to slash at her with a sword.

Instead, he conjured two metal spears and let them fire forward as if they were arrows.

One shot towards Alpha’s head, while the other one aimed at her abdomen.

Clearly, he knew that targeting one part of Alpha’s body was meaningless.

Only by attacking her in two places at the same time could he give her no time to ”separate” herself.

His decision was correct.

The current situation made it so that Alpha could not sever herself to dodge the attacks.

Though she wouldn’t die unless her mechanical core was shattered, these two blows would still end up severely injuring her.

However, Alpha did not show any fear.

Instead, her pale face recovered somewhat while her amber eyes flashed with hidden ruthlessness.

Facing the two attacks, she calmly raised her hand.

Other people could not see what was happening, but in her field of vision, a semi-transparent thread shot out from her palm.

It whistled through the air and arrived at one of the spears before drilling into its body.

Life Infusion—by awakening the spirituality hidden in inanimate things, Alpha could temporarily make them ”alive”.

Most importantly, she could control the awakened items, even if they already had owners.

The latter part of this ability was soon showcased.

The moment the thread drilled into the spear, Alpha sensed that a connection between them had been established, severing the one between it and the Graveplate Devil.

Sensing this, she didn’t hesitate.

She knew that she didn’t have much time.

Due to the difference in strength between them, the Graveplate Devil would soon regain his control over the spear.

Alpha had only one chance. And she decided to make the best of it.

Ignoring the threatening weapon that was firing towards her abdomen, she controlled the awakened spear and let it shoot backwards.

Her actions were unexpected.

All this time, everyone, including the Graveplate Devil, had believed that Alpha was a Wood Elemental, or at least, something similar.

Therefore, no one had expected her sudden outburst.

Due to their close proximity, the Graveplate Devil had no time to react.

He could only watch as the spear he had created approached him at high speed, his pupils shrinking in the process.

The intense warnings sent by his intuition let him know: if this blow landed, he would end up dead!

The Graveplate Devil cursed. He understood that he had no time to defend against the spear on his own.

Thus, without any hesitation, he opened his mouth and spoke:

”Help! Save me!”, he yelled.
