Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 113: Dandelion [3] - Great Knights

Soon, the stream of pure energy attached to Liora’s Life Force and slowly seeped into it, becoming one with it.

Under Liora’s gaze, the drops of Life Force flowing within her body gained an even darker tinge, while a couple of them split apart, transforming into two brand-new drops that looked exactly the same.

In just a moment, the total drops of Life Force within her body had increased to more than 110, while their purity had also been enhanced significantly.

Watching this happen, Liora remained calm, subconsciously recalling the information contained in her Knight Technique.

”To advance to a Great Knight, a True Knight has to satisfy three main conditions: Firstly, their physical body must be strong enough. Otherwise, their body will simply collapse during their advancement, resulting in immediate death.”

”Secondly, a Knight’s will has to be firm. This is usually the most difficult condition for a Knight to satisfy. Most of the time, it requires them to experience several life-and-death battles, tempering their will on the verge of death.”

”Lastly—and perhaps most importantly to me—for a True Knight to become a Great Knight, they have to change the nature of their Life Force. From a liquid form, their Life Force must become completely solid.”

The reason why Liora paid attention to the last condition was quite simple.

She, at the moment, had already satisfied the other two.

After all, although she had just become a True Knight, she was also a Devil.

With the two power systems working in tandem—and the Myriad Devils Body supporting it—her physical strength far surpassed that of the True Knights of this world.

As for tempering her will?

Although Liora’s life had been very short, her many experiences during this time had long tempered her mind.

Coupled with the power of her Lesser Devil stage soul, there was absolutely no reason for her not to satisfy this condition.

Therefore, the only thing currently limiting her advancement was that she had yet to transform her Life Force.

”Fortunately, Baron Bloodshield was kind enough to grant me this gift before passing away. What a truly thoughtful person...”, Liora whispered jokingly as her eyes wandered around the cage, her gaze landing on the many frightened Twilight Wolves.

Even though they had witnessed their companion being butchered and becoming food for the terrifying creature standing before them, none of the Twilight Wolves dared to even so much as let out a scream.

They remained silent and unmoving, exactly how a human would act if they were facing a giant bear.

Unfortunately for them, Liora was not a bear but a Devil.

This trick—which was mentioned quite frequently in her past life—would obviously not work on her.

Gazing at the many Twilight Wolves before her, the crimson in Liora’s eyes became even more apparent, and her pupils dilated.

Subconsciously, she couldn’t help but lick her lips, as if she were staring at the most exquisite meal in the entire world.

Her surroundings resonated with her emotions.

The shadows throughout the cage rippled and soared into the sky before falling down like the waves of a tsunami, engulfing the many shivering wolves.

Liora’s figure flashed and teleported in front of a Twilight Wolf. With a casual wave of her right hand, its flesh was easily torn apart, and its body was cut in two.

The dead wolf’s soul immediately floated into her mouth, while its flesh and blood transformed into a single drop of essence that soon accompanied its soul, ending up as Liora’s food.

Soon, low, scared screams, the sound of flesh being torn apart, and chewing resounded throughout the cage as if a fierce animal had been unleashed.

For the first time since her arrival in this world, Liora had allowed her Devil instincts to guide her.

And the result was a bloody massacre.

--

The air at the back of Baron Bloodshield’s manor had frozen. The joyful songs of birds had disappeared, and even the sound of buzzing insects had vanished.

The once populous metal cage—home to a large pack of Twilight Wolves—had now turned empty.

No sign of beasts could be seen, as if they had all been erased from existence.

Only Liora stood alone in the field, with her eyes closed and her mind focused.

Her body was spotless, and her beauty was unparalleled, but her indifferent posture and utter silence around her made this beautiful scene eerie.

However, Liora didn’t care.

At the moment, most of her attention was on her own body, or rather, on her own Life Force.

Having devoured every single one of the Twilight Wolves, Liora could confirm that their essence was indeed very beneficial to Knights practicing darkness-related techniques.

In fact, over the past hour or so, her Life Force had changed completely.

When she first entered the cage, her Life Force only numbered about one hundred liquid drops, while its purity was quite mediocre due to her short time of training.

But by now, her Life Force had doubled, reaching more than two hundred drops in total.

This was already shocking, but if anyone were to take a deeper look at it, they would discover that it had also begun changing form, showing signs of turning solid.

”The peak of the True Knight rank...”, Liora whispered, her voice low. To be honest, even she was amazed by her rapid rate of improvement.

Originally, it would have taken a True Knight years, if not decades, of hard training to become a Great Knight. And that was provided that they were talented enough and possessed enough resources.

Otherwise, even if a True Knight spent their entire life practicing, they would never be able to advance.

Yet now, Liora had managed to achieve the dream of countless Knights in the span of less than a week.

”Sure enough, it was the correct decision for me to practice the power system of this world. Although I’ve yet to become a Great Knight, my strength has increased significantly.”

”Even, part of my true strength has been unsealed.”, Liora muttered while checking her own state.

With a quick sweep of her consciousness, she instantly realized that her demonic energy had become way more active, looking like a chain had been taken off of it.

To this, she showed no surprise.

Liora knew that this was because she was extremely close to becoming a Great Knight.

Once she did, her strength as a Devil would recover even further, granting her the power of a ranked Young Devil.

”By then, I will be extremely close to regaining my true strength...”, she whispered.

Secretly, she felt even more confident in the chance of success of her next course of action.
