“Dark Matter…” murmuring softly, a glimmer of astonishment flickered deep within Yu Zi Yu’s eyes.

He hadn’t expected this Small World to birth such a supreme treasure.

One had to understand that this was not just any treasure. This was a true Divine Material.

It was something one could go searching for until the end of the world, yet won’t be able to find it; one could only stumble upon by chance.

It was no less inferior to the Nine Divine Metals.

In fact, in some aspects, it might even surpass them.

*Haaa…* Exhaling a long, deep breath, Yu Zi Yu forcefully suppressed the excitement bubbling in his heart.

The Dark Matter alone made this entire trip worthwhile.

“Are you certain you’re not lying to me?” Yu Zi Yu’s voice turned cold and heavy, his question carrying a warning undertone.

If this resulted in giving him a false hope, he would not take it lightly.

“Every word I’ve spoken is the absolute truth,” Nethrûdor replied solemnly.

As he spoke, he reached into his robes.

And in the next instant, a fist-sized clump of pure black substance, a chaotic and nebulous mass, entered Yu Zi Yu’s sight.

It was indescribable, unfathomable, but the moment it appeared, the light around them began to dim rapidly and continuously.

It was as though something was devouring it.

At the same time, a dim, ghostly glow radiated from the dark mass, growing even more radiant.

Its odd radiation made Yu Zi Yu’s pupils contract to the size of a needle-point, because the moment the dark chaotic clump emerged, Yu Zi Yu felt endless darkness rushing toward him.

The Dark Elements in the air begun to vibrate rapidly, as if they were cheering and dancing in joy/

“This is the Source of Darkness, Dark Matter. It is also the greatest reason I’ve made it this far,” explained Nethrûdor with sincere reverence, bowing.

As a mere offshoot of a side branch, the only way Nethrudor could make it this far could be thanks to some great fortune.

And he did not stumble upon a great fortune, but the greatest, the Dark Matter.

Now, in a bid to survive and perhaps gain better status within the Demon Court, he had chosen to offer up this rarest of treasures.

More than that, he was even willing to reveal the location where Dark Matter was being formed.

Only then, might he earn the genuine favor of this Angel King.

Raising his right hand, a surge of suction erupted from Yu Zi Yu’s palm, and moments later, that ghostly glowing, chaos-like clump of darkness settled in his hand.

The mass was completely cold, void of all warmth. It emitted a chill that pierced straight to the Soul.

However, that was not the most terrifying part.

In the blink of an eye, Yu Zi Yu, even in his Seraph Form, a being of pure Light, found it difficult to maintain his strength.

Within mere moments, black wisps of shadow began swirling around him, even enveloping him.

This was the Dark Matter, the very Source of Darkness itself.

At this moment, it called out to the endless Dark Elements, drawing them all toward Yu Zi Yu.

“Good. Very good…” Two hearty praises escaped Yu Zi Yu’s lips, revealing his deep satisfaction.

With this Dark Matter in his grasp, his mastery over the Powers of Darkness was bound to skyrocket.

And if he were to gift it to Leng Feng, or even the Incarnation of Darkness, Dark Tiger, either one of them could very well rise to become a true Overlord.

With this thought, Yu Zi Yu cast a long, meaningful glance at Nethrûdor nearby.

“You’re pretty good.” Yu Zi Yu praised him from the bottom of his heart.

Yu Zi Yu now fully understood that this little one wanted to follow him. His act of offering such a supreme treasure made it pretty clear.

After all, if the quantity of the Dark Matter was sufficient, he could very well grasp the Principle of Darkness, and from there, bear its mark and step into the Realm of Hegemony.

And if that happened…

“Hahaha…” A light chuckle escaped him, and Yu Zi Yu made a solemn promise, “From this day forward, you are the Netherworld Lord.”

Declaring this, Yu Zi Yu added with a calm yet commanding tone, “If your words hold true… then in the future, of all the Dark Matter birthed by this Small World, you shall receive 10%.”

Hearing this, Nethrûdor could not help but tremble all over. “10%!?”

He could not believe that his Master was actually giving him 10% of the Dark Matter.

After all, in the Netherworld, such generosity was unheard of.

If someone were truly to obtain Dark Matter, they would hoard it for themselves jealously and selfishly. Who would ever grant 10%?

At this moment, noticing Nethrûdor’s stunned reaction, Yu Zi Yu merely chuckled and stated candidly, “It’s what you deserve. Aside from the Dark Matter, all other resources of this Small World, you may keep 20%. Use it to grow your influence.”

“Yes, Master…”

Suppressing the surge of excitement in his heart, Nethrûdor dropped to his knees at once.

But this time, he no longer addressed Yu Zi Yu as ‘Your Excellency.’

He used the word ‘Master’ just like how the myriad beings of the Nine Realms addressed Yu Zi Yu.

And with that, a subtle shift had taken place. His loyalty, or perhaps something deeper, had truly stepped forward.

Seeing this, the corners of Yu Zi Yu’s lips curled upward ever so slightly.

Sweet reward after a punishment was an age-old tactic of rulers.

And for a subordinate freshly brought under control, this method was especially effective.

Of course, Yu Zi Yu was not so naïve as to hand over the entire Netherworld for Nethrûdor to manage alone.

Once he departed, he would leave behind several beings from the Nine Realms, especially those native to the ‘Realm of Darkness’, to assist Nethrûdor.

In the guise of assisting him, they would keep a close watch on him.

If Nethrûdor remained loyal, all would be well.

However, should he betray that loyalty… only annihilation awaited him.

…

Not long after, Yu Zi Yu personally moved to gather all the treasures Nethrûdor had spoken of and sealed them within the Nine Realms.

The Life and Death Stele, which suppressed the Nether Sea…

The Tree of Life and Death, rooted at the edge of the Netherworld…

And most notably the very source of Dark Matter…

The Abyss of Darkness.

Currently, Yu Zi Yu stood before the mouth of the Abyss, gazing deeply into its depths was a gaping, pitch-black rift that seemed to be sometimes closing and sometimes stretching open, as though exhaling and inhaling something from the void.

This was the Dark Rift, the womb from which Dark Matter was born.

Of course, Yu Zi Yu could not take it with him.

He could only harvest Dark Matter from it at intervals.

Even now, deep in the heart of the Dark Rift, he could spot a thumb-sized clump of dark, chaotic substance radiating a dim brilliance.

“For it to grow to the size of a fist, it will take at least several hundred years.”

A soft sigh escaped Yu Zi Yu’s lips, realizing that it would take time before he could harvest it.

Even so, he was more than satisfied.

A place that could continuously birth Dark Matter, just the thought of it in his possession left Yu Zi Yu reeling in joy and excitement.

This was no less valuable than a mine of Divine Metal.

This was a true cornerstone of a mighty Clan’s foundation.
