Another extremely grating cutting sound echoed through the forest, causing the eyes of each Mutant Beast to widen in astonishment. At this moment, the entire purple cocoon had completely cracked apart, revealing a Purple Mantis the size of a palm.

Surprisingly, instead of green, it had adopted a deep purple hue.

The purple hue was restrained yet quite mysterious.

Faintly, one could even spot mysterious and intricate patterns covering the entire body of this palm-sized Mantis.

Whether these patterns were natural or artificially created was unclear.

At a glance, this palm-sized Mantis seemed to exude an indescribable charm.

At this moment, the Mantis bent its knees slightly, and the thin, transparent wings on its back, resembling cicada wings, rose slightly upward.

It had adopted an offensive stance, as if it was ready to hunt.

*Screech…* Suddenly, a sharp screech reverberated through the night sky.

The next moment, amidst the shocked expressions of many Mutant Beasts, the Purple Mantis transformed into a streak of purple light, disappearing into darkness in the blink of an eye.

However, just the next moment…

*Boom!* Accompanied by an extremely terrifying roar, shockwaves visible to the naked eye spread through the air.

At the same time, a tiny figure suddenly came to a halt in the air, stopped by a green vine that had unexpectedly appeared in front of it out of nowhere.

As the vine whisked through the air, it left ripples in the air, effectively blocking the departing Purple Mantis.

*Screech…* The Purple Mantis let out another shrill screech. Faintly, the other Mutant Beasts could detect urgency in its cry.

Immediately after, the thin and transparent wings on its back, resembling cicada wings, shook violently, creating a buzzing noise.

The next moment, the Purple Mantis once again transformed into a streak of purple light, vanishing into thin air.

“Looks like it failed…” A somewhat helpless voice echoed before a colossal claw emerged from the depths of the darkness.

With a thunderous boom, the streak of purple light that had shot in another direction, suddenly shot back like a cannonball, viciously smashing towards the ground, causing the corners of many Mutant Beasts’ eyes to twitch.

*Booooooom!* With a deafening crash, the ground blew up, revealing a deep and bottomless crater.

And at the center of the crater was the Purple Mantis, struggling to climb up and appearing to be in quite a sorry state.

“It did indeed fail.” Hearing Sarcosuchus reach the same conclusion, Yu Zi Yu could not help but heave a sigh.

However, it was within his expectations. After all, it was only theoretically feasible, and Yu Zi Yu did not harbor too much hope.

However, the moment he thought of Green Mantis dying in front of him like this, Yu Zi Yu’s eyes became a little dimmer.

Faintly, a trace of coldness flickered in his eyes, looking at the purple figure in the crater.

However, after a moment, as if remembering something, Yu Zi Yu suppressed his impulse and instead chose to concentrate and observe.

Race: Void Clan

Rank: Tier-3

Innate Talent: Evolution – While everything is growing, it is adapting… constantly adapting to everything, and can even evolve more terrifying means and abilities in the midst of constant adaptation.

Unique Abilities: Void Claws – Tainted by the cosmic void, its claws are capable of ignoring the vast majority of physical defenses. (Note: These are fearsome claws that can pierce through space and strike directly at the interior.)

Hunting Instinct – A terrifying ability nurtured in pursuit of prey, capable of easily detecting the unique scent of prey and even the surrounding life force.

Void Jumps – It is able to continuously jump across space, achieving a teleportation-like effect. (Note: It consumes enormous Spiritual Energy)

Calmly reading its status screen, even Yu Zi Yu fell silent for a moment.

There was no denying that it was truly a terrifying creature. In a certain sense, it could even be considered a ‘predator’ positioned at the top of the food chain from the start. Given enough time to grow, it would undoubtedly become an extremely terrifying existence, possibly even standing at the top of the entire world.

This was not an exaggeration. It was simply because this creature had magnified its Innate Talent–Evolution infinitely, until it became an inborn talent.

As a matter of fact, self-evolution was something every living being could achieve. Just like many Mutant Beasts in Misty Mountains had developed the ability to discern life forms within the dense fog slowly over time. However, this kind of self-evolution required a long time, and even had a certain degree of chance.

However, this thing was different. Its evolution was brief yet rapid, and also perfect. Just like now, it chose to evolve in the crater for the first time after sensing the numerous terrifying auras around it.

A surge of purple energy broke out from it, enveloping the entire body of the Purple Mantis in a purple glow. At the same time, on its status screen that Yu Zi Yu was observing, a new line of text suddenly appeared.

Unique Abilities: Camouflage – Hiding is a kind of instinct. It can easily and perfectly blend into the environment, not revealing the slightest trace of its presence.

“Camouflage, huh…” Muttering to himself, Yu Zi Yu looked at the Purple Mantis not far away in astonishment.

Knowing that it couldn’t escape, it chose to hide voluntarily.

Moreover, it had evolved a terrifying ability in a short amount of time.

“Hmmm…” A myriad of thoughts raced in Yu Zi Yu’s mind , leaving him dumbfounded.

And in that very moment, in the bewildered gazes of the Mutant Beasts, the Purple Mantis’ figure in the crater gradually dimmed.

By the time everyone reacted, it had completely disappeared.

“How is this possible?” Voicing her disbelief, Thorns promptly waved her right hand.

The next moment…

*Rumble, rumble, rumble…* Accompanied by the violent trembling of the earth, countless Blood Vines filled the deep pit.

However, what left Thorns surprised was that she failed to find the Purple Mantis. It had truly vanished.

“Master…” The massive Sarcosuchus lurking in the dense mist also called out in astonishment.

“He is still there…” responding, Yu Zi Yu playfully glanced at the empty space not far away.

In a world invisible to others, Yu Zi Yu could clearly see a faint silhouette quietly curled up.

It seemed to be somewhat vigilant. Its entire body was taut.

However, it was not surprising either.

In here, not to mention an existence like Yu Zi Yu, even Mutant Beasts like Sarcosuchus and Thorns were not opponents it could provoke at present.

How could it not be cautious, and even eager to flee the moment it woke up?

Seeking benefits and avoiding harm was instinctual. This was especially true for creatures that relied solely on instinct.

After all, although its potential was terrifying, potential alone was insufficient. Without ample time to grow, its terrifying potential would ultimately be rendered useless.

Just like now, with just a thought, Yu Zi Yu’s roots buried deep in the earth could pierce through it completely.

“If such creatures can’t be recruited, it’s best to kill them.” Suppressing the rising sympathy, Yu Zi Yu made up his mind.
