Evil MC's NTR Harem

Chapter 532 Test

Rachel sighed and stepped out of the room, running a hand through her hair as she made her way outside.

The warm evening air greeted her, carrying the scent of chlorine and the faint aroma of grilled food from the barbecue station by the poolside.

It didnʼt take her long to find Ross—he was in the middle of the pool, surrounded by the rest of his wives, all of them engaged in playful laughter and splashes of water.

A smile naturally formed on her lips as she took in the sight.

The atmosphere was lively and carefree, filled with the sounds of joyous chatter, the occasional squeal from the kids playing at the shallow end, and the deep, hearty laughter of the adults.

It was moments like these that reminded her of how drastically her life had changed.

Just a year ago, she had been living an entirely different life—one of solitude, her days spent in front of a laptop, lost in the fictional worlds she created.

Now, she was part of something much bigger, something more unconventional than she ever could have imagined.

Rachel grabbed herself a drink from the nearby table, a cool glass of lemonade, and took a slow sip as she continued to watch everyone.

”Something on your mind?”

Rachel blinked and turned her head toward the voice. Standing beside her was Jade, her long, dark hair cascading down her back like silk.

She was dressed in a white two-piece bikini, the fabric clinging to her in a way that accentuated every perfect curve. Even in the dim glow of the outdoor lights, Jadeʼs beauty was undeniable.

Rachel had to admit—if she had been born a man, there was no doubt she would have fallen hopelessly in love and lust with a woman like Jade. But then again, that could be said for everyone here.

Every woman in Rossʼs life was breathtaking in their own right, each possessing the face of an angel and a body capable of tempting even the strongest of wills.

It was almost unfair how naturally stunning they all were.

And yet, despite the potential for jealousy or rivalry, there was an unspoken harmony among them, as if they had all found their own place in this unconventional family.

Rachel exhaled, shaking her head slightly before responding.

”Just… taking it all in. I still canʼt believe Iʼm here, part of this family. You, Ross, and everyone else… Itʼs definitely not what I expected my life to turn into.” She let out a small chuckle, swirling the ice in her drink. ”Itʼs unconventional, to say the least.”

Jade smiled knowingly, her eyes flickering toward Ross, who was now chasing after one of the women in the pool.

”Yeah, Ross is anything but conventional. Sometimes I donʼt even know where to begin when trying to describe him.”

Rachel followed her gaze, watching as Ross effortlessly caught one of his wives in his arms, twirling her around as she let out a delighted squeal.

He had always been like this—constantly putting in the effort, making sure everyone felt included, cared for, and happy.

It was in his nature to take on the hardest jobs, to shoulder responsibilities that no one else even thought about.

Even during gatherings like these, when he could easily sit back and relax, he was always the one bringing energy to the party.

Rachel shook her head with an amused smile. ”He never takes it easy, does he?”

”Nope,” Jade replied, laughing softly. ”But thatʼs just Ross. He enjoys taking care of us, making sure weʼre all happy. And well… I donʼt think any of us are complaining.”

Rachel took another sip of her drink before glancing at Jade. ”So, howʼs work been treating you? Did you sell many books lately?”

Jadeʼs expression perked up. ”I did, actually. It was a surprise. I didnʼt expect my latest release to do so well.”

Rachel nodded, feeling a sense of satisfaction. ”Thatʼs great. Itʼs always nice when your work gets the recognition it deserves.”

She had always been careful to keep her cover intact. To the outside world, and even to most of the people in this household, she was simply an online novelist. And that was true, at least in part.

Writing had been her full-time job before she joined the FBI, and even now, she continued to publish books to maintain that facade.

It gave her the perfect excuse for any extended absences or last-minute disappearances—people just assumed she was busy writing.

”Are you working on anything new?” Jade asked, tilting her head.

Rachel hesitated for a moment before nodding. ”Yeah, Iʼve got a few ideas brewing. Havenʼt put them to paper yet, but itʼs only a matter of time.”

Jade grinned. ”Well, if your last book was anything to go by, Iʼm sure itʼll be a hit.”

Rachel chuckled. ”Letʼs hope so.”

For now, she let herself relax, letting the sounds of laughter and splashing water wash over her. Whatever awaited her beyond this moment—her duties, her secrets—could wait.

Tonight, she was just another woman enjoying the warmth of family, no matter how unconventional it might be.

Still, she had one more thing to do before this night ends. Rachel took her chance and when found ross alone nursing his wine one hour later she took it.

”Ross… thereʼs something I need to talk to you about,” Rachel whispered, her hands unconsciously clenching at her sides.

She had rehearsed this conversation over and over in her head, yet now that she was standing in front of him, the words felt heavy, almost impossible to voice.

She owed him the truth. This much she could give to Ross.

Her time here had given her nothing—no hard evidence, no damning proof—only a firsthand glimpse into Rossʼs life, into the way he cherished his wives and how they adored him in return. It was baffling.

He was supposed to be a dangerous man, someone with secrets buried deep, someone she had been sent to investigate.
