Eternal Thief

Far away from the Evernight Alliance Hub, at the edge of the Undead Boundary, or rather, where the invisible boundary used to be.

Because the space there now revealed a faint outline, enormous and ancient, stretching endlessly across the heavens and earth like a fading shell.

The Undead Boundary’s once-perfect concealment had begun collapsing after the disappearance of the core formation.

The next moment, space distorted, and the Evernight Demon King and the Evernight Fiend King appeared silently at the boundary’s edge.

The instant the Evernight Fiend King saw the weakened boundary before him, his eyes widened with a hint of disbelief before they erupted with terrifying killing intent.

A savage grin spread across his face, ”So, it was true! Now, let’s see where you can hide... bunch of filthy bugs!”

His aura exploded outward violently as he stared at the fading boundary like a predator finally seeing exposed prey.

After all, not being able to purge the Corpse Clan was the biggest stain on his reputation, and it was all because of this Undead Boundary.

Yet, that turtle shell was fading away, and soon, he’ll be able to blast through it and kill every single Undead Race member inside while acquiring rich treasures of the Undead Cradle, especially the source of the Iniquitous Crystal!

Right at that moment, the Evernight Fiend King seemed to have thought about something else, and his gaze slowly lifted upward, toward the heavens where the enormous pitch-black owl was hovering silently above the entire Undead Cradle.

The Evernight Fiend King’s expression changed slightly as, for the first time since arriving, astonishment surfaced in his eyes because even he couldn’t see through it!

The devilish owl remained vast and incomprehensible, like a mark branded directly onto the laws of the realm itself. Its dark eyes overlooked everything silently as if watching ants with amusement.

The Evernight Fiend King’s expression gradually turned solemn as he couldn’t help but utter, ”...Just what kind of origin does this thing have?”

The Evernight Demon King was also looking at the devilish owl branded into the heavens with profound curiosity and wariness.

She replied in a stern tone, which was unlike her, ”It’s still a mystery to me, just like Eldest Senior Brother; I can’t detect anything about it. Not even my Mystic Demon Eyes can see through, as it appeared a part of the realm itself, like laws.

”Furthermore, when I tried to cast a deduction spell, my instinct screamed mortal danger, and I didn’t dare to proceed. But the strange thing is, when I tried to reach it, there wasn’t any danger at all, nor did it seem to have any kind of hidden power.

”It’s just whenever I tried to use anything related to the Law of Mysticism, a sense of crisis overwhelmed me, which means whatever had cast that mark on the sky is beyond our realm of power, not to mention, beyond my bloodline of Abyssal Mystic Demon!”

The Evernight Fiend King’s expression became grave because he knows too well how terrifying the Evernight Demon King was when it comes to the Law of Mysticism, which can only be cultivated by the bloodline of Abyssal Mystic Demon.

But the thing about Abyssal Mystic Demon was that they don’t exist within the Abyss of Wandering Souls, and the Evernight Demon King was the only Abyssal Mystic Demon present in the entire dominion of the Abyss, as far as they know at least.

Long ago, the Abyssal Demon King was also just a genius of the Abyssal Crimson Demon Clan until she stumbled upon a Law Legacy left behind by an Abyssal Mystic Demon.

Not only did she manage to overcome the trial and become an Abyssal Mystic Demon with Abyssal Grade-9 Bloodline, just a step away from Transcendent Grade Bloodline, but she also managed to awaken a divine trait of the Abyssal Mystic Demon Race, the Mystic Demon Eyes!

That was also the main reason she was able to become an Abyssal King, and with the Mystic Demon Eyes, nothing can escape from her deductions, and lies won’t work against her, unless someone has a powerful treasure that can hide from the Law of Mysticism or is more powerful than her law.

That’s how the Evernight Demon King was known as the ’Eyes of Evernight’ before she became an Evernight King, and vanished from everything sight while the Evernight Council removed all the knowledge about her abilities, turning her into a true secret eye of the Evernight Council.

Yet, now even she couldn’t see through the devilish owl in the sky and felt mortal danger if she dared to probe it; even the Undead Boundary hadn’t given her such a feeling, making the Evernight Fiend King, who was known for his fearlessness, wary!

”Doesn’t this mean if we recklessly infiltrate the Undead Boundary, this Sky Stealer would pose a huge threat to us? After all, the sudden waning of the Undead Boundary and that symbol in the sky might be related.” The Evernight Fiend King grimly said, ”It’s quite possible those filthy undead might have awakened something or unsealed some kind of hidden entity of this secret realm in their desperation?”

”It’s very possible.” The Evernight Demon King didn’t deny that statement and added with a hint of frustration, ”In fact, ever since that symbol had appeared in the sky, my Mystic Demon Eyes can’t deduce anything related to this secret realm. It was like that symbol represents chaos star within mysticism. Right now, everything is unpredictable!”

The Evernight Fiend King’s killing intent surged, ”Then are you suggesting we withdraw from this realm just because of some ancient fossil? Don’t forget, if we really tried, even those ancient fossils will have no choice but to flee!”

The Evernight Demon King’s eyes flickered profoundly before an ambiguous smile surfaced on her face, ”Who said anything about withdrawing? I wouldn’t have allowed you to enter if I wanted to withdraw, since even you can’t stop me if I decided to destroy the realm gateway.”

The Evernight Fiend King’s eyes flashed with a hint of displeasure, but he didn’t deny it and curtly questioned, ”What is your angle, third sister? Don’t test my patience!”

”Tsk, always so hasty.” The Evernight Demon King clicked her tongue in annoyance, but despite her mischievousness, she didn’t dare to tease the Evernight Fiend King any further.

”I said we’ll proceed according to your plan. But...” Her eyes shimmered with slyness, ”...we’ll also invite someone else to be our vanguard.”

”Who?” The Evernight Fiend King clearly didn’t seem to like where this was going, but he was also curious about what his third junior sister was scheming.

The Evernight Demon King’s smile widened like a demonic witch as she stated, ”The Moonless Wandering King! After all, it seemed his precious disciple had perished within the Undead Boundary, and if he was hatching some kind of scheme against us through Nomad, he won’t sit still.

”Even if Nomad was just a pawn or someone he really cherished, once we spread the words of his disciple getting killed, he had to take action, or all those powers eyeing the treasures of Abyss Wanderers will start to doubt his authority, and might think he’s really dead.

”He had no choice but to show his face for both to protect his reputation and establish his authority, or else, in the future, everyone would think he no longer gave a damn about Abyss Wanderers!

A cruel glint flashed past her ghostly eyes, ”In any case, we’ll be winning!”
