Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

207: rescueForeign netizens didn’t understand. The singers from their countries were so excellent; how could they be defeated by just anyone? Looks don’t represent strength. They admitted Lu Qingyu was handsome, but that didn’t mean he could sing well.

To Lu Qingyu’s surprise, he hadn’t expected that simply opening an Instagram account would spark a conflict between netizens from several countries.

Even though they didn’t speak the same language, they could still break through barriers using words like ’Baka’, ’Shiba’, ’F*ck’, and ’CNM’.

Lu Qingyu hadn’t originally planned to participate, but the attacks on his fans online were simply too much.

Fans held him in high esteem because he occupied a very important place in their hearts. As a celebrity, love is a two-way street.

He had to support his fans. Back when he was a company boss, he often gave out bonuses and benefits to his employees.

Since his rebirth, opportunities to give out such benefits had become fewer and fewer. Because he had more and more fans, trying to treat them all equally would be synonymous with going bankrupt.

So, if he could satisfy his fans within the scope of his abilities, he still wanted to do so.

It was just a singing competition, and there probably weren’t many episodes left. He would just fly back to participate, and then come back after it was over.

Past 11:00 PM, just as Su Jixing was about to go to bed, Lu Qingyu knocked and entered.

Su Jixing and Lu Qingyu were still living in the apartment Lu Qingyu had rented during his school days; both of them were on the second floor.

”Brother Su, did you decline the invitation from King of Singers?”

Hearing Lu Qingyu ask this, Su Jixing felt there was a chance. Could it be that Lu Qingyu wanted to participate?!

”Not yet.”

Lu Qingyu: ”I want to participate in this program.”

Su Jixing immediately felt wide awake.

”Leave the arrangements to me.”

Lu Qingyu: ”Regarding the schedule, try your best to coordinate with the Program Production Team. It would be best if I don’t have to attend rehearsals.”

Rehearsals were usually 1 to 2 days in advance. Counting the day the show aired and the round-trip travel from abroad back to China, one episode would take 4 to 5 days.

If he didn’t attend rehearsals, he could keep the time commitment to three days.

He had just made a bet with William and already had over ten scripts in his head. There was a lot of work to do in the early stages, and King of Singers wouldn’t conclude for another month; he didn’t want to waste all his time on it.

Su Jixing also considered what Lu Qingyu meant.

”Understood. I’ll go communicate with the director of King of Singers about this.”

Lu Qingyu left everything to Su Jixing.

Su Jixing checked the time. It should be around 9:00 AM in the Dragon Kingdom. Now was the perfect time to call and communicate.

The director of King of Singers had lost half his hair since this season began.

He had never seen a director get criticized as harshly as he was. This season seemed cursed. It had been six episodes already, and first place was still a foreign singer. For five of those episodes, second place was also a foreign singer.

It wasn’t that he hadn’t invited powerful mentors, but the main issue was that their schedules didn’t align. Secondly, he didn’t know what was wrong with these mentors; you could feel they had talent, but the songs they sang just didn’t sound good.

The program was more than halfway through, and not a single song had gone viral like in the first five seasons.

It was terrifying not to have a representative hit. He was going to be labeled as the director of the worst season.

The director and his assistant sat together in the meeting room, checking replies to the emails they had previously sent to veteran singers in the industry.

Occasionally, the director personally made a few calls to negotiate with singers to see if they could join the show. He had been rejected so many times that he had become numb.

The assistant listening nearby was also numb: ”Director, Wang Linlin’s schedule can meet our requirements, and he is very willing to come to the show. Why don’t we let him give it a try?”

Wang Linlin was a singer who had only debuted two years ago. His traffic matched the singer’s stage well, but his strength and experience were lacking.

Such a singer could bring popularity to the program, but not quality.

He now urgently needed a Dragon Kingdom singer who could defeat the foreign singers, preferably one who could crush them.

As long as such a person appeared, everything else would be easy to handle.

The director shook his head: ”No, if I invite him, I’ll be scolded even more severely.”

”Were all the invitations I told you to send out rejected?”

The assistant showed the computer screen to the director: ”We sent 22, and 19 were rejected.”

Hearing this, the director felt there was still hope: ”What about the remaining three?”

Assistant: ”The remaining three are all abroad.”

Director: ”Who are the remaining three? Let me see. I’ll call and see if I can coordinate with them.”

The assistant gave the contact information of the remaining three people to the director. The director checked the time, saw the time difference wasn’t an issue, and then started making calls.

Unsurprisingly, the first two calls were rejected. One person was on vacation abroad, and the other was participating in a program abroad; they simply had no time to return.

Looking at the last remaining name, the director, feeling hopeless, didn’t even want to call.

The director sighed deeply, picked up his phone, then slowly put it back down, feeling physically and mentally exhausted.

Just then, the phone suddenly rang. The director picked it up and answered.

Su Jixing had also called the director twice. The first time the line was busy, and it only went through on the second try.

”Hello? Hello, Director. I am Lu Qingyu’s Agent, Su Jixing.”

The director answered the phone irritably, but his eyes lit up when he heard the name Lu Qingyu.

”Hello, hello.”

Su Jixing: ”I received the invitation for the program. We are very interested in this show and would like to participate. I wonder if the candidate list for the program is full yet!”

Hearing this, the director felt as if a blessing had fallen from the sky. If Lu Qingyu could participate, it would be simply wonderful.

He had heard Lu Qingyu’s works and had analyzed Lu Qingyu as a person.

Lu Qingyu’s works were distinctive with diverse musical styles, and he was someone who grew stronger when facing strong opponents. If he could come to participate in this show, the possibility of him winning the championship was very high.

”It’s not full yet. It would be fantastic if Qingyu could come and participate in King of Singers.”

Su Jixing: ”Qingyu currently has many activities and projects abroad. Participating in the program would require flying between two countries. So I’m calling to communicate with the director to see if we can skip the preview rehearsals for Qingyu. We would only return on the day of the competition.”

Hearing this, the director’s heart skipped a beat. Rehearsals were a way for the production team to gauge the situation. Besides helping the singer preview, it also allowed the production team to understand the singer’s level in advance and prepare on-site response plans.

If he went on stage directly without participating in rehearsals and previews, there might be many uncertain factors that could affect the singer’s performance level.
