Endless World: The Rise of Leonard Lawson

Leonard spent the next minutes watching how one of the berserk men was drained dry of his blood by the others.

Some might call him heartless or even outright horrifying for committing such an act!

But what he did was nothing more than getting vengeance on behalf of the powerless women, as well as gaining valuable information in the meantime.

He wasn’t doing these for no reason.

Instead, he wanted to see how far the Wrathbane Extract could affect people after consumption.

Additionally, he realized the berserk mode didn’t differentiate allies or enemies. As long as they sniffed or saw blood, they would become agitated and wanted to target the opposing party.

He patiently waited for another few minutes once they finished their meal.

”Looks like the blood frenzy dependency does dwindle after consuming any type of blood,” Leonard commented. He saw their eyes returning some rationality and was no longer as aggressive as before.

The one who devoured the most blood also happened to regain clarity enough to spot Leonard.

”Please let me out!” They cried aloud and pleaded with Leonard. ”I was wrong. I don’t want to be trapped here and be experimented on further. I’ll tell you everything I know.”

Having noticed Leonard was very foreign, the man quickly figured the Dark Chamber must have been exposed to some other party.

Thus, he hurriedly offered valuable information in exchange for his freedom.

His mind also seemed to recall how he devoured a disgusting man’s blood. At that moment, his face twisted into an ugly complexion, having an extreme impulse to vomit.

”Who are you and why are you locked up here?”

While the man was distracted by his own horrific action, Leonard decided to take the moment to raise some questions.

Though he had no intention of actually releasing him, the latter wouldn’t have any idea.

Unfortunately, Leonard underestimated this person.

”Let me out first, and I’ll tell you.” The man counter offered. They weren’t foolish to spill everything out when they were still trapped behind the bar.

If Leonard wished to learn information from him, then he had better not try to play foul.

’Hmph, I still remember how you taunted us with your skin to agitate us!’ The man sneered inwardly. The memories were slowly coming back to them, so they recalled how cruel Leonard had behaved and treated them like some farm animals.

”So you’re not willing to talk, huh?” On the contrary, Leonard wasn’t disappointed or saddened by the man’s counteroffer.

”Maybe you have too much blood in your body, and that makes you incapable of speaking. Shall I stab you a few times to release some blood to help jolt your body or whatever it is that made you incapable of speech?” He kindly suggested, his hand playing around with the iron spear.

A look of horror instantly flashed across the man’s eyes when he realized what Leonard planned to do.

’This person is even more wicked than the owner!’ The man sweated profusely and hurriedly identified themselves.

”Great Sir, I’m just a lowly hired guard for the Slave Coop, named Wally. I was sent here after getting caught breaking a rule.” Wally said with an anxious tone.

”Hoh, breaking a rule?” Intrigued, Leonard suddenly pressed on. ”What sort of rule did you break in the Slave Coop?”

”T-T-That is...” Afraid of revealing the matter, Wally’s facial complexion turned ugly.

’You despised the guards for treating the women terribly! If I tell you, then wouldn’t I be dying quicker?’ Wally thought to himself.

He couldn’t possibly reveal how he attempted to violate a level 2 woman, only to end up being caught by another guard.

And shortly after the incident, he was subsequently beaten as punishment for breaking the rule. He was then sent to the Dark Chamber for some critical training to control his heated state, according to his supervisor’s words.

Yet who could have imagined the so-called critical training was a lie?

He was actually already sentenced to death! But because they lacked the necessary test subjects, he became one of them and was forced to consume the vile substance.

While Wally tried their best to conceal their crime, Leonard’s eyes narrowed.

”You can either speak now, or safeguard the event to your grave.” He calmly spoke, showing zero ounce of sympathy.

After a few seconds, Wally still showed no signs of talking.

Seeing that, Leonard held his iron spear and assumed the position to give Wally a quick stab.

There was no need for any techniques whatsoever. As long as he made Wally bleed, the other captive inside the cage would gladly finish the job on his behalf.

Just as he was about to lunge the spear forward, Wally finally broke down in fright.

”Wait, I’ll talk!” He raised his hands and exclaimed.

Soon, Wally revealed everything, including how he nearly succeeded in the event as well, and his intent to silence them later on.

”Who is the owner of this Slave Coop?” Leonard long anticipated that Wally wasn’t a decent person. Thus, he wasn’t surprised by the crime he attempted to commit.

He only kept Wally alive temporarily because he still hadn’t received enough information.

From start to finish, he had yet to learn of the owner’s identity in this Slave Coop.

Not even Shirley was able to answer him this particular question.

Her response was that the owner never appeared among them, but always knew everything at the back of their hands.

Moreover, she was trying to survive and escape from worrying about an elusive owner’s identity.

If there were indeed some other people that they worried about, then it would be the group of hateful guards who kept leering at them.

”I don’t know either. The owner has always been mysterious, but we were told they were always present.” Wally explained, his eyes dilated. He knew the lack of satisfactory answers meant death.

And he would be correct!

”Since you have no more useful intel, then you have no more uses for me,” Leonard said.

STAB!

In the next instance, his iron spear penetrated Wally’s abdomen, causing blood to splatter across the floor.

Wally’s face turned ashen white. He tried to clutch his abdomen to prevent the bleeding, but the smell of it had triggered the remaining captives.

”NOOOOOO!”
