Endless World: The Rise of Leonard Lawson

The Merchant Guild instantly became a lively event in the blink of an eye.

An announcement was also made to the public that a banquet was being held in the guild.

Those who were barred from entering earlier could now have another opportunity to enter if they pay a 10 gold coin entry fee.

”Lord Wesley is magnanimous and allows entry to the banquet for you to build up your social network! Line up properly and pay the entry fee, otherwise scram!” David arrived outside the Merchant Guild and informed the people outside.

”Oh, so that’s what it was about?” A regular merchant who was disappointed earlier for being unable to enter became lively.

”I was wondering why the Merchant Guild suddenly held a lockdown. They sure know how to make a commotion.”

”A banquet with no prior announcement. Now I really want to laugh at those who left earlier. Zero patience means zero result!”

In the blink of an eye, the regular and bronze ranked merchants were relieved that nothing serious had happened.

Instead, it was just a preparation for Lord Wesley’s banquet.

Naturally, the truth couldn’t be any further than that. But to those who didn’t hold any status or influence, it was only right for them to remain ignorant.

That was the cruel reality of society!

And the disparity only grew further as some regular merchants began pleading with their fellows to borrow some money.

”Damn it, I’m short of funds! Can anyone lend me a few gold coins? I promised to return in triple!”

”I just need 2 gold coins. As long as anyone lends me them, I will owe you a great deal of favor.”

Like a flock of sheep, many merchants who lacked the required money to pay for the entry fee started asking others.

Needless to say, the majority of them were ignored or outright rejected.

”Scram! I barely have enough for myself.” A merchant flung their sleeve and said in an annoyed tone.

Those who got rejected and had nothing good to offer clenched their fist in defeat. Some who were unwilling swiftly left to try their best to get enough wealth to enter.

There were also some extremely desperate merchants who began offering something else in return for the loan.

”Please lend me some gold coins! I have a few beautiful concubines at home. I’ll have them serve you 3 days and 3 nights if you lend me it.” An elderly man shouted and retrieved a magical mirror that could project some images.

Within the projection, there were indeed a few concubines who were recorded in the mirror. The concubines were all beautiful and youthful, prompting some lustful merchants’ interest.

What they sought wasn’t their beauty, but the joy of screwing someone else’s concubine. It was the thrill and excitement that proved one’s omnipotence.

”Hmm, are they used by many already? I have no interest in doing someone’s leftovers.” An obese man inquired with a piqued expression.

They licked their lips with their large tongue, clearly visualizing the scene in their mind already.

Unbothered by their appearance, the elderly man hurriedly rushed to his side.

”These concubines were freshly purchased from another city. I was planning on ravaging them tonight, but overheard the Merchant guild was granting entry. If Sir wishes, I can have them sent to you immediately to service you.”

”Oh, can I impregnate them? I don’t like pulling out.” The fat man grinned wickedly.

”Feel free to do whatever you want. If Sir seeks even more enjoyment, I can have them tied up.”

”Hahaha, if you can send them over now, then you can have the 2 gold coins. I want her, her, and her!”

”Very well!”

Just like that, a transaction using concubines was made. The action caught many other desperate merchants by surprise.

They weren’t disgusted or disdainful of the act. Instead, they were enlightened and realized this was indeed better than having a high interest rate or owing favors.

”I don’t have concubines, but I do have pleasure whores who know the bedroom way.”

”If anyone’s interested, I can also offer my wife! She’s old but still retains her beautiful and mature face. She also knows a lot of positions.”

As the merchants shamelessly used their beloved women for transactions to receive the required funds, the Merchant Guild guards remained expressionless and emotionless.

It was as if they were completely numb or used to the fact that the wives of merchants could always be used as bargaining chips.

The only thing they cared about was receiving the required funds. They didn’t care how or where they obtained the money from.

A luxurious building like the Merchant Guild turned into a chaotic marketplace, with many having zero scruples in selling their wives, daughters, and pleasure slaves.

While this was happening, inside the Merchant Guild, it was a completely different atmosphere.

Multiple tables were placed, with dishes filling them up to the brim. Beautiful music was played by a band on the side, with female dancers shaking their hips, dancing with little to no clothing at the center.

”Haha, the dancers from Enchanted Oasis main really hit differently!”

”Look at those hips! I’ll definitely need to get one of them to serve me well tonight.”

The male merchants all laughed joyously, their eyes filled with lust.

Meanwhile, the female merchants were also enjoying the scenery, albeit the complete opposite of what the male merchants were ogling at. Rather than female dancers, they were ogling at the male dancers who only had a boxer on them.

”Gahh, Velastra is truly a beautiful city!” One female merchant yelped in excitement as she drank a mouthful of alcohol from the glass cup decorated with jewelry.

The banquet was in full force, but not everyone was enjoying the atmosphere.

Leonard, who had his own table, was feeling extremely bored. He was used to such a scene in his previous world, so he knew that this so-called banquet was merely a hoax to blindside the participants.

’Those dancers didn’t even seem to be enjoying it.’ With a mere glance, Leonard could discern that these female and male dancers were just merchandise on display.
