Emperor’s Domination

“Do you not have any desire to pass on a legacy after reaching your height?” After a brief silence, the voice asked.

“My legacy is what I return to the world, not what I leave to my son.” Li Qiye smiled.

“You don’t wish for your bloodline to be eternal and indestructible?” The voice asked.

“I’m not egotistic enough to think my bloodline is the noblest, I’m just another smelly and wretched mortal, to put it frankly.” Li Qiye said.

“But you’re not one of them.” The voice disagreed.

“Even if I’m a true immortal, my body and flesh still originated from the mortals. And with my dao heart, even an insect can become like me. There’s no point in passing this down because it is innate in everyone, the question is, will they persevere?” Li Qiye said.

“Do you truly think so?” The voice asked.

“Should I let my son rule this world then? Is that passing down my legacy? Let’s say he would be able to do it well, what about my grandson, and on and on. One day, they will become annoying bedbugs. The only way is to return what you have taken from the world, the only way to maintain the original conviction.” Li Qiye said.

“With enough descendants, your dao path won’t be as lonely.” The voice said.

“Your companion couldn’t even walk with you, so that’s hopeful thinking at best, if not foolish.” Li Qiye said.

“Biting words, Sir.” The voice became slightly angry.

“I am merely speaking the truth.” Li Qiye shrugged: “Are the divine beasts arrogant enough to think they deserve the world and all others should be their slaves in perpetuity?”

“We should not become extinct.” The voice said.

“On the contrary, given the state of your race now, it should be extinct.” Li Qiye said: “I won’t be delivering the judgment though, you will.”

“I don’t understand.” The voice said.

“What is your goal? To increase the population of your race?” Li Qiye asked.

“Yes, if I am successful, we will be everywhere in Heavenrealm.” The voice said.

“Haha, and sometimes I think you’re just another fool, one among many in this world.” Li Qiye laughed.

“Sir, please retort with facts.” The voice said.

“Very well, let’s say there are endless divine beasts across Heavenrealm, your race will be walking in the footsteps of the primordials and becoming the villainous heaven’s first target.” Li Qiye said.

“Not necessarily.” The voice said.

“Your race likes to maintain its nobility and powerful bloodlines. Just look at the few of you now, still requiring all of Divine Firmament for nourishment. When the population explodes, it would trigger an epoch prosperous enough for the villainous heaven to destroy everything for a restart. Let’s say you’re powerful enough to replace the heaven, can you create more worlds? What will your descendants eat? Without ample resources, they will become wretched. The weak beasts will turn into slaves for the stronger ones.” Li Qiye said.

The voice couldn’t respond.

“You had a better path and a greater companion toward eternity. Alas, you killed your lover for an unattainable goal.” Li Qiye said.

“Enough!” The voice shouted with a might sweeping through the sea of wisdom.

Alas, the wrathful eruption exposed the divine beasts’ hiding spot.
