Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Wooden pile village“So, do you still remember where your family is located?”

“That… Ben Shu needs to know where this place is first.”

Ben Shu shook his head. He needed to know the name of their current location before he could find his way home.

“Oh, then wait a moment.”

Lin Feng nodded, then spread his divine sense to explore this world.

Soon, he discovered a small town a hundred miles away, called Muniu Town.

“Do you know Muniu Town?”

“Muniu Town? Yes, yes, it’s not too far from Ben Shu’s hometown.”

“Alright, then let’s go there now.”

Lin Feng nodded, then took Ben Shu and flew to Muniu Town.

Muniu Town, as its name suggests, was a small herding town, primarily for cattle.

The town wasn’t large, with a population of only over five hundred people and over a thousand cattle, meaning each person owned about two cows.

“Which way now?”

“Squeak, squeak, behind us, through this town, and then follow the small path behind it all the way, and you’ll be there.”

Lin Feng nodded, quickly passed through the town, and then flew for about fifteen minutes before finally reaching the hometown Ben Shu spoke of.

“Squeak, squeak, it’s just ahead, Ben Shu’s hometown. Don’t go any further, or we’ll be discovered.”

Ben Shu pointed to the neatly arranged wooden stakes ahead, stating that each stake housed one or several Treasure-Seeking Rats.

“Hmm, then you go back and see. With your current ability, you probably don’t need my help anymore, right?”

“No need, Ben Shu is awesome now.”

Ben Shu chuckled, then took out a flying device from his treasure hunter’s pocket, put it on, and jumped off Lin Feng’s shoulder.

“Wooden Stake Village, Ben Shu is back!”

Ben Shu walked with determined eyes towards the pile of wooden stakes ahead.

Lin Feng, meanwhile, observed Ben Shu from a distance with his divine sense.

“Stop! Where are you from?! This is Wooden Stake Village, and we don’t accept stray Treasure-Seeking Rats.”

Just as Ben Shu arrived at the entrance to Wooden Stake Village, a Treasure-Seeking Rat with fur similar in color to his own ran out, holding a spear.

“Eh? Isn’t this Brother Dou? Where did you go? Why have you been missing for so long?”

The guard looked closely and realized it was Ben Shu, sighing in relief, then stepped forward and asked in a friendly manner.

“Do I need to tell you where Ben Shu went?”

Ben Shu glanced up, directly ignoring the guard’s question, and continued walking into the village.

“Oh, I called you ‘Brother,’ and you actually think you’re that important, huh?”

Seeing Ben Shu become so arrogant, even daring to ignore him, the guard immediately felt he had lost face and directly blocked his way.

“Kneel down and say, ‘Grandpa, I was wrong,’ and this granddaddy will spare you today.”

“Ant.”

Ben Shu snorted coldly, then flipped his paw, and a steel ball instantly appeared in his palm.

Whoosh!

Almost instantly, the steel ball shot out like a bullet, directly breaking the guard’s leg, and then the guard fell to his knees with a thud.

After kicking the guard away, Ben Shu continued walking into the village.

His return this time wasn’t actually to show off, but to retrieve his grandpa’s Relics and pay respects to his grandpa.

Soon, the news of Ben Shu’s return and his injuring of the Wooden Stake Village guard spread.

The villagers who had bullied Ben Shu before now dared not casually go and provoke him, instead cursing Ben Shu from a distance. In fact, besides his poor performance and lack of strength at the bottom of the class, there was another important reason why Ben Shu was bullied.

That was, when his grandpa was alive, he really wasn’t a good sort, just like a profligate young master.

Relying on his grandpa’s strong treasure-seeking ability and high status in human society, he could be said to be the little tyrant of the village.

Later, his grandpa died unexpectedly, and without his grandpa’s protective influence, Ben Shu naturally suffered greatly. Because of these changes, his mentality gradually shifted, eventually turning him into who he is now.

“Village Chief, Village Chief, you’re here. Ben Shu is over there. This scoundrel actually injured Xunxun. Please go and say something.”

“Hmm, I understand.”

Jian Mu, the Village Chief of Wooden Stake Village, nodded.

“Douzi!”

“Huh? Grandpa Village Chief, what’s wrong?”

Ben Shu turned around and asked curiously. He was almost home, why was he suddenly called? To be honest, Ben Shu really didn’t want to waste time in this place. He just wanted to go home quickly, retrieve his grandpa’s Relics, and then pay respects to his grandpa.

However, this Village Chief used to be kind to him, so Ben Shu stopped.

“Nothing. I heard you injured Xunxun, who was on guard outside?”

The Village Chief asked with a chuckle.

“That’s right, Ben Shu injured him. What, Village Chief, are you going to stand up for him too?”

“Hahaha, you little rascal, you have a bit of your grandpa’s youthful demeanor.”

The Village Chief shook his head helplessly, then extended his paw and gently patted Ben Shu’s head.

“Actually, I want to tell you something.”

“What is it?”

“I never had a chance to tell you before, and then you disappeared. This is also something your grandpa asked me to convey to you.”

“What is it, what is it, Village Chief, tell me quickly!”

Hearing that it was something related to his grandpa, Ben Shu grabbed the Village Chief’s shoulders excitedly and asked.

“Don’t rush, don’t rush. This matter is that you are actually not your grandpa’s biological grandson. You were picked up by his old self. Haven’t you noticed that you never saw your parents or grandma since you opened your eyes?”

“Ah? My grandpa didn’t say they…”

“Haha, that was Old Huang lying to you. Alright, that’s all I’ll say. You’re back this time to get your grandpa’s Relics, right? They’ve all been kept safe for you. Go back and get them, child.”

The Village Chief smiled and rubbed Ben Shu’s head, then slowly walked away with a stooped posture.

“Ben Shu, was Ben Shu picked up?”

Ben Shu stood stunned, finally sighing.

Forget it, whether Ben Shu is biological or not, his feelings for his grandpa are real.

The other villagers also didn’t block his doorway as usual, preventing him from going back, probably all scared by him.

Returning home, the house was very clean; the Village Chief must have arranged for someone to clean it regularly.

Looking at the wooden box in the corner, Ben Shu immediately ran over with tears in his eyes, opened it, looked at each item, and then carried the wooden box, preparing to go to the place where his grandpa was buried.

That place was in the grassland behind Wooden Stake Village, covered with flowers of various colors. This was a special burial ground for the deceased.

However, because Ben Shu’s grandpa had a special status, a mini mausoleum was specially built for his grandpa.

“Grandpa, Douzi has come to see you.”

After placing the wooden box down, Ben Shu sat cross-legged in front of the tombstone, recounting his recent experiences and growth.
