Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 695 695:- Lazy Scholar

The 5th Divisionʼs Captain, General Amber Lawrence, was walking towards the library early in the morning.

Regardless of what it was, the people inside the Dragon Palace never seemed to sleep. Even when someone came to the Dragon Palace at midnight, that person would still see people. However, depending on the timing of the day, the number of visitors and activities in the Dragon Palace increases or decreases.

The same thing was happening here.

Even though it had only started to get bright outside, many people could already be seen in the Dragon Palace.

Emperor Aditya was fond of collecting books. Whenever he conquered an Empire or a Kingdom, he would bring all the books from the Kingʼs library. Frequently, the Emperor could be seen in the library.

This showed just how much importance the Emperor gave to literacy and Education.

The Istarin Empire had two main libraries. The biggest Library on the whole Dying Isle Continent was in Azure City, located next to the Old Castle in the middle of the Capital.

The library had been renovated, and now it stands as the biggest library in the whole continent.

At the same time, the library was heavily guarded and protected with Rune formations to ensure that all the books could be preserved and protected and that no one could enter the library without permission.

The second library was inside the Dragon Palace. It was a small library.

But in this small library, all the very important books and records were being kept. The value of this library was 10000 times more than the value of the other library that was in the Azure City.

The value of this library can be seen from the fact that after the Emperor and the Royal Family moved to the Dragon Palace, which was away from the Azure City, the Emperor decided to build a small library and bring all the important books to it. Despite the limited space within the Dragon Palace, the Emperor still chose to keep a library by his side, which shows just how much importance he gave to the Library.

Other than Aditya, all the members of the Royal Family were allowed to enter the library.

All the Generals were allowed to go in as well. As for the rest, they had to take permission from the Emperor.

As Amber walked towards the Library, she was greeted by many. Most who greeted her were Dragonians and Dragon Warriors. They had come to the Dragon Palace to cultivate.

All the Dragonians and Dragon warriors were given the opportunity to come and cultivate inside the Dragon Palace for a limited amount of time. At the same time, some had special privileges and were allowed to stay inside the Dragon Palace to cultivate for as long as they wanted.

The seven generals enjoyed even more privileges. The Generals could come to the Dragon Palace whenever they wanted and use all the resources of the Empire for cultivation or disturb them fairly to their subordinates. Aditya did not limit them since he completely trusted them.

But compared to other days, today, even though dawn had just begun, the Dragon Palace felt a lot busier.

Everyone knew the reason behind this.

The whole Dragon Palace was beautifully decorated.

On top of everyoneʼs head, there were hundreds of green tentacles. All the green tentacles formed the shape of a spider web. The green tentacles covered the whole Dragon Palace. What made the green tentacles even more beautiful was the various colored heart-shaped large leaves growing out of the tentacles.

Each heart-shaped leaf was around the size of 15 inches. And green leaf was glowing in different colors.

Each heart-shaped leaf was swinging like a pendulum.

This decoration made the entire Dragon Palace very pretty.

ʼThe whole Dragon Palace glows at night because of these heart-shaped leaves. At that time, everything will become even more beautiful.ʼ Amber thought to herself while looking at the Heart-shaped leaves.

This was all done by the Goddess Riya.

”My lady, what are you doing here?” While Amber was busy admiring the beauty of the decoration, then she heard a familiar voice.

It was the Vice-Captain of the 5th Division, Ella. She was Amberʼs subordinate.

”Ella.....!! Good morning.....!!” Amber was surprised to see her here.

”Good Morning, Mylady.” Ella politely returned the greeting.

”I was going to head to the library to do some research.”

”What about you? What are you doing here?”

It is very surprising to see Ella here. Ella very rarely left Azure City. Whenever Amber wasnʼt around, she would be in charge of training the recruits of the 5th division. She was also responsible for the day-to-day activities and tasks of the Division. In a way, Ella was busier than Amber.

So, seeing Ella here so early in the morning was very surprising.

It did not mean that Amber had dumped all of her responsibilities on Ella. Besides, Ella also had many subordinates to make her work easy.

”My Lady, Iʼm here to help out with some stuff.” Amber could see that Ella was very well dressed.

”I was just about to head to the Wedding Venue.”

Hearing this, Amber nodded her head. ”Alright!!”

”I will come later.” Amber knew that Ella was going there to meet some friends and acquaintances.

On the way, Amber met a few others from other divisions.

Despite the rivalries between each Division, each Division respected each other.

Everyone treated Amber with respect and with a humble attitude.

And after winning the Starlight Challenge, Amber was even more respected.

The library was a small building with three floors and two underground floors. It was filled with important books and classified information.

Amber gently pushed the iron doors.

It was slightly dark inside.

The whole Library was really silent.

Amber walked inside and then closed the door from inside.

The library has towering wooden shelves that curve and spiral upwards, forming a grand, circular wall of books. These shelves create winding pathways. Wooden stairs connected to the shelves loop around the room, allowing to climb and reach books on higher levels.

In the center and scattered throughout the space are tables and chairs where readers can sit and read their chosen books. These pieces of furniture are placed thoughtfully, making sure thereʼs plenty of room for walking and exploring the literary surroundings.

Rather than search for the book she wanted to read, she looked at the handsome figure, who was lazily sitting on a chair and focused on reading a book.

At this moment, his appearance wasnʼt what an Emperor should have.

He did not look like the King of a Nation.

Rather, he looked like a young boy who was studying. His expression and his posture said that he looked bored.

He had his left elbow on the table and had the back of his palm against his left cheek.

He wore an oversized black T-shirt.

His blue hair was somewhat messy, but it didnʼt look like he cared about it.

A few strands of his blue hair had fallen over his eyes.

On the table, there were a few open and closed books. Next to the book he was reading was a small plate of nearly cut square-

shaped dragonfruit.

Seeing Aditya, Amber froze.

ʼWhy is His Majesty here?ʼ Amber asked herself.

All the things that happened between them started playing in her mind. She remembered the embarrassing dream that she had.

She remembered the embarrassing things that she had said to him while drunk.

She remembered the embarrassing things that he saw her saying.

Remembering everything, Amberʼs face started heating up. She became nervous. Her heart started beating fast.

Due to all of these things, Amber has completely stopped going to the Dragon Palace. Before, she sometimes lived there but had completely stopped doing this.

She tried her very best not to come to the Dragon Palace. Without any strong reason, she did not come to see him. She avoided him because seeing his face reminded her of all the stupid and embarrassing things she did in the past.

ʼBut I must say, His Majesty does look really handsome like this....!!ʼ

ʼWait.....thatʼs not the point.ʼ Amber shook her head.

ʼSince it looks like His Majesty hasnʼt noticed me yet, I should silently take my leave and come here some other time.ʼ But before Amber could even move an inch, Aditya spoke.

”How long are you going to stand there?” He spoke without looking up. His eyes were still on the book.

Hearing this, Amberʼs face turned redder.

”I....wasnʼt sraring....cough...!! I mean staring.” From her voice, it was evident that she was nervous.

But just as she finished saying, she realized she had messed up.

Flip.....!!

Aditya flipped a page and then raised his head to look at her.

He smirked at her and replied. ”At least youʼre honest.” Hearing this, her whole face turned red.

”I am heading back.” She cannot remain here any longer. Otherwise, Aditya will bully her.

He was the only person in the whole world who could tease her like this and get such Kawai reactions from her. This was a side of General Amber that no one but Aditya had ever seen.

”I will stop now,” Aditya said, and then he returned to reading. At most, it took him 30 to 50 seconds to finish reading a page and then move to the next page. As a cultivator, he was super fast.

He cannot just move super fast but also do things super fast. After all, Cultivators are just superhumans.

Seeing Aditya engrossed in reading, Amber bit her lips. She then started looking for the book that she wanted to read.

Both of them became silent. Aditya did not disturb and let her continue.

While searching, from time to time, she looked down to see what he was doing.

”Stop looking at me and find the book that you want to read,” Aditya said without even looking at her.

She was startled hearing his sudden yet very unexpected words.

Her face once again turned red.

”I wasnʼt looking...!!” She sounded like a thief who just got caught stealing. She sounded very nervous.

ʼHow did His Majesty know?ʼ She wondered in her mind.

Meanwhile, Aditya had a smile on her face. Actually, it wasnʼt difficult for him to guess if she was looking at him or not. With his superhuman hearing, he could hear every sound that she made.

Whenever she took a step, touched a book, or opened it, he could hear it all. Since she wasnʼt making any noise, he guessed that she must have been looking at him.

He fired an arrow in the darkness, and it hit the target.

After a while, Amber walked down with a book with a black cover. She then sat facing Aditya and opened the book.

Within a few seconds, she was engrossed in reading. Aditya saw that she was in another world.

All of her attention was on the book that she was reading.

”Do you want some?” Aditya asked while slightly pushing the plate full of dragonfruit pieces.

Dragonfruit was Adityaʼs favorite fruit. He often ate them. The dragonfruits that had been cooled were really tasty.

”Thank you...!!” Amber used the fork already on the plate to eat a few dragonfruit.

But as she was about to put the fourth piece in her mouth, she realized she had been eating from the same fork Aditya was eating with.

ʼIsnʼt that considered An indirect-Kiss...!!ʼ Amber felt her whole face heating up.

Her whole face was red.

She slightly raised her head to look at his face.

But seeing his normal reaction, she was slightly disappointed.

She pouted, seeing his bland reaction.

”What book are you reading?” After a while, Aditya became curious.

”I am learning a new skill. I am here for some notes as a reference.” This library did contain many notes and journals of other cultivators.

Reading these notes could prove to be very useful in learning a new skill.

Aditya watched her flip the pages of the book for a while.

”Did you find anything about your family yet?” Hearing this, Amber froze. Her expression changed.
