Chapter 1171: Chapter 1171:- Imperial Royal Palace or Imperial Breeding Ground

”Well, the Royal Palace covers an area of 360,000 m² if I remember it right. However, I do not know if your father expanded the Royal Palace further after my retirement.” Hearing this, Aditya was shocked. That was an enormous area.

Even with his experience and knowledge from his previous life, he found it difficult to imagine a single royal residence being that large.

”Why does it need to be so big? It’s not like you had more than one wife to begin with.” Aditya asked curiously. From what he knew, Boris was a very loyal man. He had no concubine or second wife. He spent more hours of a day sitting on a chair in front of his desk.

In his previous world, the Forbidden City was even larger than the Royal Palace. However, the reason behind its massive size was understandable. The emperor had numerous wives, concubines, and consorts, and each of them required their own living quarters.

The main wives were given their own residences, while the concubines and consorts also had separate palace areas or courtyard residences depending on their status and rank. Because of the complicated imperial hierarchy, the palace naturally continued expanding over generations.

However, Boris’s situation was completely different.

”Don’t ask me.” Boris shook his head slightly.

”The emperor who came three generations before me, which was roughly 150,000 years ago, had more than 250 women. His main wives, concubines, and consorts were all included.”

”250! Holy moly!” Aditya’s eyes widened in complete disbelief.

He had expected that some emperors in this world might have large harems due to the influence and status that came with being an emperor, but hearing an actual number still surprised him.

”Two hundred and fifty women? How did he even manage that?” Aditya muttered, unable to hide his shock.

For someone like him, who had always viewed relationships differently, the idea of managing such a massive imperial household was almost impossible to imagine.

Boris simply sighed.

Sigh.....!!!

”Different emperors have different ways of living. Some focus entirely on cultivation and ruling, while others prioritize expanding their bloodline and creating more heirs.”

”Fortunately, I never had such ambitions.” Boris looked somewhat relieved as he said those words.

For him, ruling the Celestial Dragon Empire had already been a responsibility that lasted thousands of years. Adding hundreds of personal relationships and the endless complications that came with them was something he had never wanted to deal with. He might have died early if he had more women in his life.

”Was it a freaking Imperial Royal Palace or a breeding ground with the word ’imperial’ added at the beginning?” Aditya could not help but ask.

If an emperor truly had that many women, then a significant portion of his daily life must have been spent dealing with his personal relationships rather than focusing on ruling the empire.

Aditya was not entirely wrong when he jokingly called it an imperial breeding ground.

Hearing his grandson’s words, Boris could not hold himself back and burst into laughter.

”Hahahaha!”

”Although, if other government officials heard you say that, they might say that it is extremely rude. But honestly, I think that is a very hilarious and very accurate way of putting it.” Boris wiped away a small tear from laughing too much.

”Actually, I heard that there were even rumors of expanding the Royal Palace further to accommodate more women.”

”Good thing this shit never happened.” Aditya sighed in disbelief.

He was already annoyed at the ancestor who had created such a troublesome situation. To him, that emperor’s excessive lifestyle had created unnecessary complications for the current generation.

Because of that person’s decisions, the Royal Palace had become far larger and more complicated than it needed to be. Instead of simply searching for a way to infiltrate a palace, Aditya now had to consider countless buildings, sections, and areas that could potentially hide his parents.

Finding Alen and Elena’s exact location had already been extremely difficult. And because of that ancestor’s actions, the difficulty of the mission had increased by a thousand times.

’Who even needs a palace that big?’ Aditya could not understand how someone could create such a massive residence simply because they wanted more space for their personal life.

For him, the Royal Palace should have been a place representing authority, governance, and the future of the empire. Not a place expanded endlessly because of one emperor’s personal desires.

Aditya could understand the purpose of the huge area of the Dragon Palace. The main area of the Dragon Palace was used by Dragonians to cultivate in the rich mana environment within the Palace. But this was nothing but a huge wastage of money for the sake of pleasure.

”But before the design for the newly expanded Imperial Palace could be approved by the emperor, a huge civil war took place. Factions from the emperor’s harem attacked each other, and the final consequence was that almost every single person involved died, including the emperor himself.”

What started as a slow and small conflict rapidly escalated into a full-blown civil war.

The reason was because most of the women in the emperor’s harem came from powerful noble households. When conflicts started between the different factions, those noble families were naturally dragged into the conflict as well. What began as a personal dispute inside the Imperial Palace quickly turned into a massive political struggle that shook the entire empire.

Hearing this, Aditya wasn’t the least bit surprised. It was impossible to have a harmonious relationship between more than 250 women. So obviously, something like this was bound to happen.

’Well, he fucked around too much and found out the hard way.’ Aditya thought to himself.

”I support whoever killed that bastard.” However, Boris shook his head.

”You should not disrespect our ancestor like this.”

”Ancestor? Disrespect? That guy had more than 250 women in his imperial harem. He would even put an Incubus Emperor to shame.” An Incubus Emperor is the peak of what an Incubus evolves into or could be born as. Word has it the last Incubus Emperor had about 200 wives. But his ancestor had more than 250. Wasn’t that simply disgraceful.

Aditya could not understand how someone could manage such a massive harem while also ruling an empire.

”We dragons have extremely low birth rates. Maybe he had such a large harem because he wanted to produce multiple descendants as soon as possible.” Boris tried to explain the possible reason behind that emperor’s actions.

However, Aditya simply shook his head. ”Nah. I understand that it takes at least close to 1,000 years on average for a dragon to have an offspring. But having over 250 women in his harem is just a poor excuse to sleep with more women.”

Aditya was not denying the difficulty dragons faced when it came to producing descendants. He understood that dragons had extremely long lifespans and very low birth rates compared to other races.

However, in his opinion, there was a difference between wanting more descendants and creating an enormous imperial harem with hundreds of women.

To Aditya, that emperor’s actions had clearly gone far beyond simply securing the future of the imperial bloodline.

Shaking his head, Boris continued explaining the details of the Imperial Royal Palace. He already knew that lecturing his grandson would not change Aditya’s opinion of their ancestor, so he decided not to waste time trying to defend someone from such a distant past.

Not like he was hell bent on changing his opinion anyway. He also felt that this was a disgraceful part of their long history that should be erased. The faster people forget about it the better for them.

Instead, he focused on the information that actually mattered. ”The entire Imperial Royal Palace is surrounded by a dome-shaped invisible barrier that can withstand even the attacks of seventh-order cultivators.”

Aditya listened carefully. This was the kind of information he needed.

Boris continued. ”There are also mysterious runes placed around the Royal Palace that prevent any cultivator from flying within a 2,000-meter radius of the Imperial Royal Palace. This means that the moment you attempt to fly, your ability to do so will simply stop working.”

Hearing this, Aditya slightly raised his eyebrows.

For most people, the idea of being unable to fly would not seem like a major restriction. However, for cultivators above the fifth order, flying was no longer considered a special technique. It was something as natural and effortless as walking.

Their bodies had already surpassed ordinary limits, and moving through the sky had become an instinctive ability rather than a skill that required conscious effort. Because of that, hearing that cultivators could suddenly lose the ability to fly was quite surprising.

”The invisible barrier surrounding the entire Imperial Royal Palace also prevents anyone from using any kind of teleportation arrays within the palace grounds. The only teleportation arrays that can function inside the Imperial Royal Palace are the specially designated ones. Those arrays are constantly guarded by extremely powerful soldiers.”

For a moment, Aditya became slightly worried. ”Wait. Does that mean I cannot use my teleportation ability inside the Imperial Royal Palace?”

His teleportation ability was one of his greatest advantages. The ability to instantly move to any location within his vision was something that gave him an enormous amount of flexibility in battle and movement.

If even that ability was restricted, then infiltrating the Royal Palace would become significantly more difficult.

However, Boris chuckled after hearing his concern. ”You can.”

A confident smile appeared on Boris’s face. ”Your ability to teleport wherever you can see will be our greatest strength in carrying out this plan.”

Hearing this, Aditya’s expression immediately relaxed.

”Good to hear.” A grin appeared on his face.
