Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 1167: Chapter 1167:- Unable to Decide

’I hate this situation.’

’I hate the position that I have been put in.’

Those thoughts repeated inside Aditya’s mind as he continued to sit there in silence. For someone like him, who had always relied on his ability to control situations and determine the direction of events, being placed in a position where every choice carried a painful consequence was something he despised.

As the Dragon Monarch, Aditya had always believed that the person with enough strength and determination should be the one controlling their own fate. He hated uncertainty.

He hated situations where he could not guarantee the outcome. Losing control meant being forced into decisions where there was no perfect answer, where every path would leave behind something that could never be recovered.

And this was exactly the kind of situation he feared the most.

Deep inside, Aditya knew that if he had to choose, he would rather sacrifice the lives of every single citizen of the Celestial Dragon Empire than sacrifice his parents. To him, his parents were not just political figures or former rulers. They were the people who gave him life and the people who had stood by him despite all the mistakes of the past.

However, the situation was not that simple. The people Ren would target were not limited to his parents. He had to think about Julia, Alicia, Vampire Princess, Riya, Sasha, Lilith, Rin, Laura, and Athena and everyone else who are so close to him.

His cousin would not hesitate to use everyone close to Aditya as a weapon against him. Just as his father had said, everyone sitting in this room could eventually become a target.

And it would not end there. As long as Aditya continued fighting, Ren would continue using the people connected to him as a way to weaken his resolve. The enemy would not stop until every person who mattered to Aditya was either controlled, captured, or killed.

Even if he was killed, he doubted the organisation or Ren would stop until the Istarin Empire and everyone else close to him was dead.

That was the reality of the war they were facing. And beyond Ren, there was another threat that weighed heavily on Aditya’s mind and that was the mysterious organization.

Even while hiding in the shadows and limiting their presence from the public eye, they had already caused countless problems. They had manipulated an emperor, created chaos within the Celestial Dragon Empire, and pushed the entire world toward a conflict that could change history.

The Fall of the greatest Emperor of the past, the Crimson Dragon King was because of the organisation. And they did everything from the shadows until the very end. Even their existence records was completely wiped out from the books of the history.

Aditya could not even imagine what would happen if they succeeded.

If he was defeated and there was no one left capable of standing against Emperor Ren, who was nothing more than a puppet controlled by the organization, then the consequences would not be limited to the Istarin Empire or the Celestial Dragon Empire.

The entire world could suffer.

That was the part that made this decision even harder. Aditya was not only fighting for his own ambitions or his family. He was carrying the responsibility of stopping a threat that could grow beyond anyone’s ability to control. Yet despite understanding all of this, his heart still refused to accept the idea of sacrificing his parents.

But once again, Aditya found himself unable to make a decision.

He knew that what his parents were saying was logically correct. From the perspective of an emperor and a leader, their words made complete sense. They were looking at the bigger picture, considering the future of the empire, the lives of millions of people, and the dangers that would come if Ren continued to use them as a weapon against him.

However, the pain inside his heart could not simply be ignored. No matter how much he tried to think rationally, his emotions refused to disappear. The thought of abandoning his parents and accepting their deaths was something that he could not easily accept.

The pain in his chest grew heavier with every passing moment. It felt as if someone was squeezing his throat, making it harder for him to breathe. His mind understood the reality of the situation, but his heart continued to reject it.

Because to Aditya, both sides were equally important. The empire and the people who depended on him were important. The future of the world and the responsibility he carried as the Dragon Monarch were important.

But his parents were important as well.

For years, Aditya had carried resentment towards Alen and Elena. He had believed that they were responsible for everything that had happened to him. He thought they had chosen to exile him, and that the hardships he suffered during his childhood were caused because of their actions.

That resentment had remained with him for a long time. Because of their resentment, he did not wanted to see them ever again. Before going to the Main Continent, Aditya absolutely wanted to do nothing with the Celestial Dragon Empire and his parents.

Before he did not care what happened in that Empire. He did not care if millions died or if Ren became the Emperor or if he was the member of the Organisation.

But now, after learning the truth, everything had changed. He knew that his parents had not willingly chosen to hurt him. He knew that they had been controlled by Ren’s mind control and that they had also suffered because of the situation they were trapped in.

The hatred and anger that Aditya had carried for years had slowly disappeared, replaced by understanding and regret. And for the first time in so many years, Aditya genuinely wanted his parents back.

He wanted to spend time with them. He wanted to see them become a true part of his family. He wanted to experience the warmth and affection that he had missed throughout his childhood.

Despite being the Dragon Monarch, despite having power that surpassed most people in the world, there was still a part of Aditya that was simply a son who wanted his parents’ love.

That was why this decision was so painful. He was not choosing between victory and defeat. He was not choosing between right and wrong. He was choosing between two things that mattered deeply to him.

The future of everyone who depended on him. And the family he had only just regained.

For a long time, Aditya did not speak. He did not raise his head to look at his parents, nor did he look at anyone else in the room. He simply remained silent, with his gaze lowered and his thoughts trapped in a battle of their own.

Everyone understood that he needed time. No one tried to pressure him further because they knew that the decision placed before him was not something that could be answered easily.

Alen and Elena also stopped speaking. They knew how cruel this situation was for their son. They understood that they were asking Aditya to make a decision that no child should ever be forced to make. They were asking him to place the future of the empire above his own desire to have his parents back.

However, they also believed in their son. They believed that when the time came, Aditya would make the decision that would lead to the golden future of everyone around him and the golden future of the Celestial Dragon Empire.

It was painful for them to put such a burden on his shoulders, but they also knew there was no other choice.

Aditya was not simply their son anymore. He was the leader of the Anti-Emperor Faction. He was the person countless people had chosen to follow in their fight against Emperor Ren. Every decision he made would affect the future of the empire and the lives of everyone who had placed their trust in him.

And one day, he would become the future emperor.

Because of that, Aditya could not run away from difficult choices forever. A ruler could not always make decisions based only on personal emotions. There would be moments where he would have to choose what was best for the greater good, even if those decisions caused him unimaginable pain.

Alen and Elena knew that forcing their son into such a position was cruel. As parents, they wanted nothing more than to protect him from suffering. But as people who understood the responsibility of ruling an empire, they knew that this was a burden Aditya would eventually have to carry.

The civil war would not only test his strength as a warrior. It would test his resolve as a leader.
