Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 1123: Chapter 1123:- Ashamed Boris

The revelation left every noble stunned.

For countless years, they had believed that Emperor Ren had legitimately inherited the Imperial Crown and the Imperial Throne. Not once had they questioned their authenticity. Yet now, Aditya was telling them that the symbols of Imperial authority they had bowed before all this time were nothing more than carefully crafted replicas meant to deceive the entire Empire.

Many of the noble leaders’ expressions darkened.

If Aditya was telling the truth, then they had unknowingly sworn loyalty to a man whom the true Imperial Crown and the true Imperial Throne had never acknowledged. To them, this was not merely deception. It was a disgrace to the dignity of the Imperial Family and an insult to the sacred treasures of the Empire.

In that moment, whatever respect some of them still held for Emperor Ren completely crumbled. If Aditya’s words were true, then Ren had never been the rightful Emperor from the very beginning. He had ruled the Empire while wearing a lie upon his head and sitting upon another beneath him.

”As for evidence, I have personally spoken with the Dwarf Tribe that lives in the Sand Mirage Desert within the Tunnel World. The leader of that tribe is someone I hold in the highest respect.”

The moment Aditya mentioned the Dwarf Tribe, several noble leaders instinctively nodded.

Everyone present knew about the long-standing friendship between the former Emperor of the Celestial Dragon Empire and the Ancestor of the Dwarf Tribe. Their relationship stretched back thousands of years and was well known throughout the Empire. Because of that history, no one doubted the credibility of the Dwarf Tribe or its leader.

”In one or two days, the leader of the Dwarf Tribe will personally arrive here. If any of you still have doubts or believe that I am lying, then you may ask him yourselves.”

Aditya calmly looked around the hall before continuing. ”My cousin sent one of his trusted subordinates to the Dwarf Tribe. Not only did they demand that the tribe alter the Royal Crown and the Royal Throne, but they even threatened to wipe out the entire tribe if they refused.”

Many of the nobles frowned upon hearing this. ”However, the leader of the Dwarf Tribe rejected the demand.”

Aditya’s voice remained calm. ”The Tribe Leader did not want to help someone who threatened his family. Also, It was because he genuinely could not do it. The runes and formations engraved within the true Royal Crown and the true Royal Throne are far too profound and complex. They cannot simply be modified to force the Imperial Treasures to acknowledge someone they have already rejected.”

”That is why my cousin was forced to create replicas instead. Since he could never gain the acknowledgement of the originals, the only option left to him was to deceive the entire Empire into believing that he had.”

”When I briefly mentioned that in our meeting at the funeral, he showed a look of panic.” Some nobles nodded as they clearly remembered this happening. At that time, Ren quickly changed the conversation to something else before they could think more about it.

Among everyone present, Boris’s expression looked the worst. Unlike the others, none of this information was new to him.

He had already known the truth about Ren and the counterfeit Imperial Crown and Throne. Yet hearing everything once again, especially before the leaders of so many noble houses, reopened an old wound in his heart.

After all, Ren was his first grandson. A grandson whom he had once held high hopes for. A grandson whom he had believed would one day inherit the Empire with dignity and honour.

Instead, Ren had become the greatest stain upon the Imperial Family. The source of Boris’s bitterness was not merely Ren’s betrayal. It was the shame that accompanied it.

For more than twenty thousand years, Boris had ruled the Celestial Dragon Empire with an unwavering heart. Throughout his reign, countless enemies had challenged him, yet he had never compromised his principles simply to strengthen his own position. He had never resorted to deception to secure the Imperial Throne, nor had he ever abandoned his morals for personal ambition. Every major decision he made was for the stability of the Empire rather than for his own benefit.

That was the legacy he had hoped to pass down. Yet his own grandson had chosen the exact opposite path.

Ren was willing to go to any lengths to secure the Imperial Throne. To him, concepts such as honour, morality, and family meant nothing if they stood in the way of his ambition. No matter how dishonourable the method, how cruel the plan, or how many innocent lives had to be sacrificed, he never seemed to hesitate. As long as it increased his chances of remaining Emperor, there was nothing he was unwilling to do.

He secretly allied himself with a sinister organisation that operated from the shadows. He plotted against members of his own family, repeatedly attempted to eliminate anyone who threatened his rule, and even forged the Empire’s most sacred treasures to deceive the entire nation.

One scheme after another. One betrayal after another. Every action pushed him further away from the values that the Imperial Family had upheld for countless generations.

To Boris, each revelation felt like another heavy slap across his face.

The greatest humiliation was not that Emperor Ren had deceived the Empire for so many years. The greatest humiliation was that the man responsible carried the Harrington bloodline and was his own grandson.

Whenever people spoke of Ren, they inevitably remembered that he was the grandson of the former Emperor. His actions no longer reflected only upon himself. They also cast a shadow over the Imperial Family and the legacy that Boris had spent more than twenty thousand years building.

During his entire reign, Boris had rarely experienced shame. He had made difficult decisions, fought countless wars, and executed many enemies, but every action had been taken for the sake of protecting the Empire. He had always ruled according to his principles and had never abandoned his morals simply to strengthen his own authority.

Yet now, for the first time in over twenty thousand years, Boris truly felt ashamed. Not because of anything he had done, but because someone carrying his family’s name had fallen so low in pursuit of power, abandoning every value that Boris had dedicated his life to protecting.

”Lastly, there is one more matter that I believe everyone here should know.”

Aditya’s expression became noticeably more serious as his gaze slowly swept across the dining hall. ”I have very strong reasons to believe that even my parents fell under the mind control of the Tomb of Black Tomb.”

The statement immediately caused many of the nobles to exchange shocked glances. Several elders instinctively frowned, while others looked at one another in disbelief. However, before anyone could interrupt, Aditya continued speaking.

”Looking back now, many things simply do not make sense. I was suddenly exiled from the Main Continent and permanently forbidden from ever returning. At that time, I accepted it because I believed it was my parents’ decision. But the more I think about everything that happened, the less reasonable that explanation becomes.”

He paused for a brief moment before continuing in a calm but heavy tone. ”My parents loved me more than anything else. They waited for centuries before finally having a child.”

”Throughout my childhood, they were extremely caring and protective. They would never allow anyone to harm me, and they always treated me with nothing but unconditional love. Yet, as time passed, they slowly began changing. Their personalities became colder. They became increasingly distant toward me. In the end, it was as though they no longer cared whether I lived or died.”

Aditya slowly shook his head. ”How could parents who spent centuries praying for a child suddenly stop caring about that very child? No matter how many times I think about it, I simply cannot find a reasonable explanation.”

The entire dining hall remained silent as everyone carefully listened to every word.

”I do not have concrete evidence to prove this theory yet because I have not met either of them since everything happened.”

”However, if you carefully think about the events leading up to my cousin becoming Emperor, there are simply too many suspicious points to ignore.”

”Even before Ren ascended the Imperial Throne, many important decisions and public appearances that should have involved my father gradually became Ren’s responsibility instead. It was almost as though my father was slowly disappearing from public view while Ren became increasingly active.”

Aditya’s eyes slowly moved across every noble present before he asked the question that had troubled him for a very long time.

”Since Ren became Emperor, has anyone in this hall personally seen my father or my mother?” The question echoed throughout the silent dining hall.

One after another, the noble leaders frowned as they searched through their memories. Some lowered their heads in thought, while others subconsciously looked toward the elders seated beside them, hoping someone else would answer first.

However, no one spoke. It was not because they were unwilling to answer.

It was because none of them could honestly remember seeing either the former Emperor or the former Empress ever since Ren ascended the Imperial Throne.

As they carefully reflected on everything Aditya had revealed, many of them gradually realised that his theory was far from unreasonable. In fact, the more they connected the various events of the past several years, the more convincing his explanation became. No one present could find a convincing argument to refute his reasoning.

Moreover, every noble in this hall understood one undeniable truth about the cultivation world. There existed countless forbidden techniques capable of manipulating another person’s mind.

Some secret arts could slowly alter a person’s thoughts over many years without anyone noticing, while others could directly suppress an individual’s will and force complete obedience. Even powerful cultivators and dragons were not completely immune to such techniques if the one casting them possessed sufficient strength or employed sufficiently profound secret arts.

With that knowledge in mind, Aditya’s suspicion no longer sounded like an impossible theory. Instead, it sounded like a terrifying possibility that none of them wished to believe, yet none of them could dismiss.
