Chapter 1119: Chapter 1119:- Another Sect Falls

”The wealth we obtained from both cultivation sects should be enough to fund the entire civil war without asking the noble houses to spend anything from their own pockets,” Aditya said to Boris.

This would greatly reduce the debt he would owe the noble houses after becoming Emperor.

More importantly, his faction had never been stronger. With four 7th-order cultivators now serving under his command, together with Boris, Malakor Harrington, and Wahid, Aditya finally possessed enough strength to stand on equal footing against the Emperor and the National Treasures under his command.

”But I would still recommend asking every noble house to make a certain amount of investment.” Boris looked at Aditya before continuing.

”Using the wealth we obtained from the two cultivation sects to finance the entire civil war would not be a wise decision. A war is unpredictable. No matter how well you prepare, unexpected situations will always arise. If we spend every coin we have before the war is even over, we will have nothing left for emergencies, rebuilding, or stabilising the Empire after your victory.”

He paused briefly before adding another reason.

”More importantly, if the noble houses contribute their own wealth, resources, and soldiers, they will become personally invested in your victory. Once people have invested something valuable, they become far less likely to betray you midway. Your success will become their success, and your defeat will also become their loss. They will fight harder because they will have something to protect.”

Boris folded his arms behind his back.

”At the same time, do not rely on them too much. If they become the primary source of funding, they may begin believing that they earned your trust for you. Later, they could use that contribution to demand rewards, privileges, or political influence that exceeded what they deserved. We should make them contributors to your victory, not the owners of it.”

Aditya nodded in agreement. He had already been thinking along similar lines.

He wanted every noble house supporting him to make a reasonable investment in the civil war. By doing so, they would feel that they were personally contributing to his rise to the throne, making them more loyal and committed to seeing him emerge victorious.

At the same time, Aditya had no intention of becoming overly dependent on their wealth. He wanted to remain in control of the war from beginning to end, ensuring that once he became Emperor, no noble house could claim that they had bought his throne or use their financial support as leverage against him.

’Once I become Emperor, within a few months, I will firmly establish the authority of the Imperial Throne.’ Aditya silently made that promise to himself.

He wanted to ensure that no noble, regardless of how influential or powerful they were, would ever dare challenge the authority of the Emperor. The throne had to stand above every noble house. Only then could the Empire remain stable for generations to come.

The Istarin Empire had already proven that such a system was possible. There, Aditya’s authority had been absolute.

No noble dared to oppose his orders. No one believed they had the right to negotiate with the Emperor simply because they had once supported him. They respected the throne because they understood that the Emperor ruled through strength, ability, and justice, not because he owed favors to powerful families.

That was exactly the kind of Empire Aditya wanted to build.

He was genuinely grateful to every noble house that had chosen to stand beside him during the civil war. Without their support, gathering manpower, resources, and influence would have been far more difficult. Their loyalty during his weakest period was something he would always remember.

However, gratitude and favouritism were two completely different things. Aditya had every intention of repaying every debt he owed.

Those who contributed more would naturally receive greater rewards. They would be compensated with wealth, lands, cultivation resources, titles, or other appropriate rewards once the civil war was over. Their loyalty would never be forgotten.

But that gratitude would have its limits. It would never become an excuse to place themselves above the law.

If a noble believed that supporting him today gave them the right to exploit the common people tomorrow...

If they believed the Emperor would ignore corruption because of an old favor...

If they thought they could commit crimes while expecting the Imperial Court to close its eyes...

Then they were gravely mistaken. Aditya had absolutely no intention of turning a blind eye to corruption, abuse of power, or even so-called minor offences simply because the offender had once stood on his side.

The law would apply equally to everyone.

Friend or stranger.

Supporter or former enemy.

Noble or commoner.

Once the civil war ended, there would no longer be factions in Aditya’s eyes. There would only be subjects of the Empire. Anyone who broke the law would pay the price.

That was the only way to build an Empire where future generations respected the Imperial Throne instead of treating it as a puppet controlled by powerful noble houses. Only by ruling with fairness, while never forgetting past loyalty yet never allowing it to outweigh justice, could the authority of the Emperor remain unquestioned for centuries to come.

”Time to head back.” Aditya slowly stood up from the wooden chair and looked around the ruined marketplace.

The matters he had entrusted to his subordinates would still take some time to complete. Collecting half of the Chimera Shadow Sect’s wealth, gathering the high-grade herbs, emptying the Elders’ Storage Rings, and selecting valuable treasures and artifacts could not be finished within a few minutes.

However, Aditya had no intention of waiting there until everything was done. There was nothing left for him to personally oversee. His subordinates were more than capable of completing the remaining tasks without his supervision.

More importantly, he wanted to return to Axel City as soon as possible and resume his cultivation.

His next objective was clear. He wanted to break through to the 6th-order realm.

To achieve that, Aditya planned to spend the next few days focusing entirely on cultivation and training. The civil war was drawing closer with every passing day, and every increase in strength would improve his chances of victory. He had no intention of wasting even a single day now that his revenge against the Night Rider Sect and the Chimera Shadow Sect had been completed.

There was another reason for returning immediately.

The leaders of the noble houses in Axel City had been waiting for him for several days. Aditya had originally promised to gather everyone for an important meeting, but everything had been delayed because of the surprise attack against his family and his determination to take revenge before discussing the civil war.

By now, those nobles were undoubtedly anxious. They needed reassurance.

They needed to know that Aditya was alive, that the Harrington Faction remained strong, and that the man they had chosen to support was fully prepared to lead them into the upcoming civil war.

While the attention of every major power across the Main Continent remained focused on the destruction of the Night Rider Sect, with countless factions dispatching more spies and investigators to uncover the truth behind the incident, another shocking piece of news quietly began spreading across the continent.

The Chimera Shadow Sect had suffered the exact same fate.

If the fall of the Night Rider Sect had already shaken the Main Continent, then this second piece of news pushed that shock to an entirely different level.

What stunned everyone the most was the speed of the attack.

According to the reports that were rapidly spreading from one force to another, the Chimera Shadow Sect had been defeated in less than ten minutes.

Not only had the sect lost the battle, but it had also lost every single one of its Elders. Although the Elders were still physically alive, each of them was left on the verge of death after suffering devastating injuries. Most importantly, every Elder had their cultivation destroyed, reducing them from respected powerhouses to ordinary cripples within a matter of minutes.

The news spread through the Main Continent like a violent storm, leaving countless forces in disbelief.

Among everyone who received the report, the person most shaken by it was Emperor Ren.

Ever since the morning, he had been under tremendous pressure after learning about the destruction of the Night Rider Sect, one of his strongest allies. Before he had even managed to recover from that blow, another report arrived, informing him that the Chimera Shadow Sect had suffered an almost identical fate.

The second piece of news struck him even harder than the first.

It left him deeply shocked...

...and even more deeply troubled.

Ren simply could not understand how Aditya suddenly gained powerful 7th-order cultivators. That he could casually march into two Sects and destroy them within hours. At the same time, he got angrier at Victor. If this bastard had killed Aditya, then none of these things would have happened.
