Dragon Monarch System

Aditya was almost done with the undead from the 11th Wave. When the number of undead significantly decreased, he noticed something unusual or out of place in one of the corners. The red magic circle, which he assumed disappeared after summoning the undead every time, did not really vanish into thin air.

The Red magic circle shrank in size and power and stayed in some corner. Because he was facing undead in huge quantities from all directions, he did not have a moment to spot the magic circle in any of the corners.

When he almost overlooked the magic circle, his eyes were scanning for the location of the remaining undead. He noticed that behind a small cluster of undead, in the corner, there was the red magic circle. But right now, the magic circle wasn’t glowing as brightly as it did before.

At first, he did not understand what was special about this magic circle. He only assumed that the soul role of this magic circle was to summon undead at the command of the summoner.

But then the 12th wave came.

For some reason, he felt that he should keep an eye on that magic circle.

And then it happened.

Right before the magic circle expanded in size, Aditya noticed a figure. The figure had the shape of a human. Aditya could not see his face but noticed that his body was transparent. It was so transparent that under any bright light, the figure would essentially disappear.

The figure was standing on the Magic circle. When the circle expanded, he was at the centre of it. But because of the intense glow from the magic circle, it was impossible to see the figure’s body.

Once the undead came, the circle instantly shrank in size. Aditya nearly lost track of the magic circle because of the overwhelming number of undead heading in his way, and also due to the fact that, after shrinking, the magic circle almost emitted no glowing light. Once again, it went to a random corner of the battlefield.

This time, he noticed that when the magic circle moved, the transparent outline of that figure was once again visible.

’So that’s how you have been hiding.’

”Found you!!” His eyes dangerously glowed red as he looked at the summoner.

He ignored all the undead coming at him.

Swoosh!!!

Aditya teleported to that corner where the magic circle was.

He swung his sword at the transparent figure who was standing on the magic circle.

At the same time, a wave of magma rose around him that stopped all kinds of attacks.

Clang!!!

The person blocked his attack.

”Game over!” A compressed orb of Crimson flame formed in his other palm.

Bang.....!!!!

After being struck in the chest, the transparent figure reverted to normal and was no longer see-through.

What Aditya saw next shocked him.

It was a humanoid body made up of various metals. Even its short, spiky hair was made up of black metal. Other than his face, everything else was covered under his cloak. His eyes looked normal, but upon a closer look, Aditya noticed that his pupils had some diamond-shaped cyan-coloured gems. Everything was done so well that the summoner looked like a real human.

’I mean, the ancient dwarves and this whole situation. I should have anticipated something like this, but I am still quite surprised.’

’I wonder how he was made.’ Aditya felt that if he could take the body parts of the Summoner and study them, he should be able to make something similar.

But the system wasn’t designed that way.

The whole body of the Summoner began to break down. Cracks of all sizes began to spread all over his body.

At the same time, the undead began vanishing into black mist one after another. It was like a wave that started from the undead that were near them and soon spread all over. All the undead spread across the battlefield were affected by this, and within seconds, everything disappeared.

While he watched, the body of the Summoner also broke down. In the end, what was left was countless very tiny metal scraps. The metal scraps also disappeared after falling into the magma.

Sigh.....!!!

”And there goes my plan of making an army of artificial soldiers.” Aditya was quite disappointed.

[Congratulations! You have cleared the First Stage of the Steel Dwarf trial.]

[You’re the first one to complete this specific Challenge in any round.]

From these words, Aditya understood that some challengers had faced this challenge in other stages.

’So this isn’t just a first Stage Challenge.’

’This also means that the next Stage will be even more difficult.’

Aditya once again felt the space around him distorting. Everything around him began to change.

[You have exactly 120 seconds to prepare for the Second Stage.] Aditya did not expect to be given time before the next stage began.

But he wasn’t about to waste this time. Using the given time, he took three pills. The first one was the Mana Recovery Pill, the second one was the Stamina Recovery Pill, and the third one was a potion.

It is a strength-increasing potion that Julia recently made from a Magic fruit. The potion was similar to steroids, but it was much safer, and the boost from it only lasted for 10 minutes.

But Aditya did not immediately take it. Since the effect would only last for 600 seconds or 10 minutes, he decided to wait until his break was over and then consume it. That way, he can save two extra minutes.

[120 Seconds have passed. The Second stage will now begin.]

Suddenly, everything around him was glowing in bright white light. He saw the outline of this terrain changing.

When the light dimmed down and then finally disappeared, he was standing in the middle of a massive battlefield. Everything was the same as before, except this time, the battlefield was in the shape of a square.

[The Second stage will follow these rules.]

[From the beginning to the end, neither side is allowed to use any alchemy products. This means neither party is allowed to consume pills or potions to heal injuries, recover stamina or recover Mana.]

’I should be fine.’ By now, about 80% of his Mana had recovered. As long as he wasn’t facing anything like the previous challenge that forced him to use Mana to cover the entire battlefield, he felt that he should be fine.

『Ding! You have consumed Potentia Vires. Your Base Strength has temporarily increased by 25% for a period of 10 minutes or 600 seconds.』

This was the name that he gave to this potion when Julia showed it to him. Potentia Vires meant the power of Strength.

[The Second Stage will now begin.]

Suddenly, a purple portal opened on the ceiling facing the ground. A man jumped out of the portal and landed in front of Aditya.

[His name is Kael Dravenhart.] It was a short human male. He was 5 feet 2 inches tall. His body frame was light, and he was very skinny.

He had short black hair and slightly tanned skin. He wore a simple black Yukata.

The Katana on his waist was inside a yellow Scabbard. The tsuka, which is the wooden grip or the handle of the Katana, was also painted yellow.

[You must defeat him to advance to the next round.]

Both of them stared at each other. The Dragon Monarch noticed that the person before him had strange eyes. His brown eyes held no emotions in them. It was like looking at the eyes of a dead person.

’So he is another puppet.’

[Kael, here have faced 9199 challengers in this journey. You will be his 9200th opponent.]

[My creation has defeated and conquered every challenger that it faced.]

Aditya could feel just how proud the creator of this puppet sounded.

’I can’t wait to meet you.’ Initially, the mysterious man, whose voice Aditya only heard but never saw, was emotionless, showing no feelings in his voice or speech. However, as time went on and he cleared the First stage, this man began to sound increasingly like someone with emotions.

”After this fight, it won’t be a winning streak of 9200. NO...no....!!!” Aditya raised his sword and pointed it at Kael.

”It will be 9199 and 1.”

”The Streak will end here. And I will be the one to end it.”

”Make no mistake, this Monarch will never lose to a puppet that you created.” At first glance, it looked as if his voice was full of arrogance. But this arrogance came from his strength and position as the Dragon Monarch.

[Very well! Let the battle begin.]

Kael unsheathed the katana from its yellow scabbard. Under Aditya’s watch, holding the tsuka with both palms, he began infusing the sword with Mana. The Katana began glowing in a bright blue.

He raised the katana above his head and vertically swung it down. Aditya was ready to teleport anytime, but nothing came in this direction. The force of the downward swing sliced the air, sending a sharp gust forward.

But That was all. This left him confused.
