Chapter 11: Chapter 11 An Encounter with a Grizzly Bear.

Editor: Henyee Translations

Su Lin had been part of the wolf pack for two months now.

He had gained a rough understanding of the pack’s structure.

As the Lead Wolf, Wolf Father had unique authority within the pack, and his orders could not be defied by anyone.

If Su Lin wanted to defy him, he could only challenge Wolf Father and defeat him.

With his current strength, Su Lin indeed stood a considerable chance of defeating Wolf Father.

But he did not do so.

Because as the Lead Wolf, Wolf Father needed to maintain his dignity to lead the pack.

Once defeated by Su Lin himself, his authority might be undermined, and he might be unable to control the rest of the Wolf Clan.

The current wolf pack, besides Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom, and Cousin’s mother,

consisted of mostly Arctic Wolves who had recently joined and were not very loyal.

This made Su Lin plan to go out again in the afternoon when Wolf Father and the rest were asleep.

He lay down on the rock once more and began to rest with his eyes closed.

Xiao Hui also lay down beside him, emulating Su Lin’s actions and fell asleep.

Xiao Hui had now become Su Lin’s staunch little brother.

Wolf Sister, who used to sleep with Su Lin, was now soundly asleep in Wolf Mother’s embrace.

It seemed that Wolf Mother’s embrace was still more comfortable.

Next,

time flew, and it was already the afternoon.

To conserve energy, Wolf Father and the rest lay down to sleep as well.

Su Lin quietly got up and left the cave.

By now, he had gradually gotten used to the icy snow fields of the Arctic Continent.

He planned to go out by himself.

But when he turned back, he saw that Xiao Hui had followed him.

Xiao Hui’s Attributes had also improved over the past few days.

It was close to reaching level 3.

Therefore, Su Lin did not force him to go back.

“Awooo!”

With a low howl, the two wolves set off.

Today the weather was overcast, with low visibility.

This was why Wolf Father had given up going out for Hunting.

However, Su Lin had no intention of giving up halfway.

He was only 5 Evolution Points away from leveling up!

This temptation spurred him on as he began to search quickly for nearby prey to hunt.

Soon, he spotted a nest of Arctic Rabbits.

Arctic Rabbits were relatively common in the Arctic Continent, surviving on moss, plants, and tree roots.

With Su Lin’s Speed, hunting Arctic Rabbits was a piece of cake.

But he did not make a move.

The Evolution Points Arctic Rabbits could offer him were now negligible.

Unless he was extremely hungry, it was not worth the effort to hunt them.

But Xiao Hui behind him let out a low howl as if asking for Su Lin’s permission.

Su Lin agreed, allowing it to hunt freely.

Xiao Hui immediately ran excitedly toward the Arctic Rabbits ahead.

Without any member of the Wolf Clan teaching it hunting skills, and lacking Su Lin’s intelligence, Xiao Hui only knew how to charge straightforward.

Arctic Rabbits were naturally very fast.

Their hearing was also incredibly sharp.

Before Xiao Hui got close, the nest of Arctic Rabbits sensed its presence.

They quickly scattered and fled in all directions.

Leaving Xiao Hui to lunge at empty air!

“Awooo!”

This caused it to stand in place, angrily howling out of frustration.

Su Lin could not help but shake his head as he walked over slowly.

Smack!

He gave Xiao Hui a slap that made its little head swing to and fro.

Punishment for failing the hunt.

Afterward,

Su Lin showed it what creeping forward meant and how to conceal its body.

Xiao Hui was very earnest in learning and began practicing repeatedly in the underbrush.

While teaching Xiao Hui, Su Lin continued to search for prey.

However, after he had searched a considerable area without finding any valuable prey,

suddenly,

their animal instincts made their fur stand on end!

Then, a Wolf Claw pressed Xiao Hui firmly into the underbrush, preventing it from moving even an inch.

He had also hidden his wolf body quite well among the thick bushes.

His pale blue wolf eyes looked towards the not-too-distant area.

Sure enough, after just a few seconds.

A Grizzly Bear, at least two meters tall and heavily built, lumbered out from the nearby shrubs.

It was apparent that this Grizzly Bear was probably searching for food in this area.

The Grizzly Bear scraped some small berry-like fruits from the bushes, stuffing them into its mouth.

The Grizzly Bear’s diet was varied.

Plant roots and tubers, fruits, grass, grains, as well as animals, insects, fish, and even carrion, could all become its food.

And naturally, the Arctic Wolf could also become its food.

Now, with the food scarcity on the Arctic Continent, this Grizzly Bear would do anything for food.

Species: Grizzly Bear (Male).

Level: 11.

Qi-Blood: 1859.

Endurance: 125.

Strength: 113.

Defense: 119.

Speed: 43.

The Grizzly Bear’s attribute values appeared before Su Lin’s eyes.

These attributes were truly terrifying.

Right now, Su Lin could definitely run away,

but Xiao Hui wouldn’t be able to.

Even though the Grizzly Bear was heavy and slow,

catching Xiao Hui, a pup not even half a year old, would still be very easy.

So he firmly pressed Xiao Hui down, not allowing the Grizzly Bear to notice.

Otherwise, with the Grizzly Bear’s attributes often in the triple digits,

Su Lin would be powerless to save Xiao Hui when the time came.

Fortunately, the Grizzly Bear didn’t notice the two wolves not far away at all.

It was busy eating the fruits and tender leaves on the bushes.

After finishing off the fruits of several nearby bushes, it slowly meandered away.

Watching the Grizzly Bear leave, Su Lin finally let out a sigh of relief and let go of Xiao Hui.

Xiao Hui lay in the thick bushes, also behaving obediently without howling,

and, after being released, gratefully licked Su Lin’s paw.

Smack!

Su Lin slapped Xiao Hui on the head with his paw again.

He didn’t like being licked by wolves.

However, the encounter with the Grizzly Bear today made Su Lin’s desire to level up and evolve even stronger.

One day in the future, he would inevitably become the strongest Hunter on the Arctic Continent, second to none!

Even the large dominators like the Grizzly Bear and the Polar Bear would appear on his menu.

“Ao!”

Su Lin howled softly, leading Xiao Hui to continue searching for prey.

The vast and desolate Arctic Continent, although food was scarce, with diligent searching, there were still quite a few finds.

They encountered a herd of moose along the way, robust in build,

and within the herd were two male moose, with sharp antlers and high attributes—two levels higher than the female moose they had consumed.

So Su Lin just looked at them and then disregarded them.

They encountered several Arctic Silver Foxes, but the foxes were very careful and cautious, never giving Su Lin a chance to strike.

Eventually,

Heaven rewards the diligent.

Through the unremitting efforts of Su Lin and Xiao Hui, a solitary young female Musk Ox appeared before their eyes.

This young female Musk Ox should have been immature, relatively slim and only about a meter and a half in length.

Long brown hair draped over its body, with horns growing apart on its head.

The pupils in its bovine eyes were purple-blue, looking very beautiful.

Species: Musk Ox (Female).

Level: 6.

Qi-Blood: 1058.

Endurance: 78.

Strength: 53.

Defense: 51.

Speed: 39.

Looking at the numerical attribute values of the Musk Ox in front of him,

A level 6 Musk Ox!

“Let’s give it a shot!”

Su Lin exhaled deeply, slowly revealing sharp wolf teeth, his eyes also flickering with the ferocity unique to a Hunter.
