Death… And Me

Chapter 4213: I Don’t Want to Go Back

Aken looked at Roan with wide-open eyes. He was born way after Roan left the Universe, so seeing the man himself was like seeing a living legend. It could be said that a lot of the resources that allowed him to get to this level this fast were acquired because he was a descendant of Roan.

”Gr-Grandfather!” Then he kneeled. ”I-I’m Aken Larks. It is good to finally meet you.”

Roan nodded slightly. ”Later, I’ll pay you a visit to take a look at your progress and make a tailor-made cultivation technique for you. You can leave now.”

Aken’s eyes lit up, and he quickly accepted the order. ”Yes, sir! I’ll be around, and you can come to visit me at any time!”

Roan waved his hand, and Aken disappeared. Then, he looked curiously at Calina. ”Anyone else?”

Calina shook her head in response. ”No... Well, there is Aken’s mother, Flofana, but she is already reaching the end of her lifespan as well. Don’t even try to fill her with resources and such. She and Alen were truly soul mates. They hate cultivation, and she has already accepted her fate. Truly, I don’t know how Aken could have come from those two.”

Roan closed his eyes for a moment before speaking. ”Well, I also can’t understand how Alen was our son, considering how diligent we are to cultivate. Let’s just say everything went full circle.”

Following that, Roan took out his Divine Stones, looking straight at Calina. ”Alright, time for your breakthrough. I’ll help you.”

Calina shook her head in response. ”I can try again later. I was very dedicated all these years, so you will have to forgive me for ignoring my cultivation a little now that you are back.”

Roan then grabbed her hand, her eyes showing what she wanted the most at the moment. Perhaps Roan would have another kid after today.

In the Floating Islands of Time, Kentucky came out of a Spatial Gate, looking at the Minokawa’s nest. ”This place hasn’t changed a little bit...”

A voice reached his ears from behind. ”We, Minokawas, are inherently lazy as hell. Do you really think a few tens of thousands of years would be enough for our nest to change?”

Kentucky turned back, a smile on his face. ”Long time no see, Senior Jeskli-Go. Seems like you were told I was coming, uh?”

Jeskli-Go nodded. ”What could you expect? We are one of Garisan’s vassal Universes, but we know that they might change their stance at some point if they get too greedy. Announcing your return and saying that all four of you are Peak Stage Celestials will definitely put a halt to any possible plans of the Garisan Universe. They might just give it up altogether and truly start to think of it as a valuable Universe under their command.”

”Hahaha!” Kentucky could agree more. ”I bet they are confused as hell about the fact that four Peak Stage Celestials can live inside Lisan. Soon, they will come to check on us; you can be certain of that.”

Jeskli-Go then put his wing around Kentucky’s shoulder. ”Alright, tell me everything. I’m curious about your adventures. I can guess just how bored you felt as you had to cultivate to the Peak Stage of the Celestial Realm.”

”Ah!” However, Jeskli-Go stopped for a moment. ”Forget that. You can tell me later. Shouldn’t you go meet your fiancé first?”

Kentucky’s mouth twitched. ”You will have to kill me first and make her marry a dead body. Well, we don’t really marry, just become partners, but you understood what I meant.”

*Crack...*

Another Spatial Gate appeared, and from inside, three other Minokawas came out. They were Ratria-Ket, Ploto-Ume, and Fife-Ni, Kentucky’s family.

”This place hasn’t changed one bit...” Ploto-Ume said with a smile. ”I love being a Minokawa.”

Ratria-Ket narrowed her eyes. ”If you think I will let you slack off just because we are back, think twice. Once we get everything settled, we are going out to find our own rogue Celestial Laws.”

”Ehhhh...” Ploto’s smile disappeared in the next instant.

Then, he turned to Jeskli. ”Yo, can you do something about her?”

Jeskli shrugged in response. ”She’s your partner, not mine. That’s your problem.” He turned to Fife-Ni right after. ”And what about you?”

The Minokawas talked for a while, and Kentucky told them everything together with his family. Eventually, his ’fiancé’ appeared, and the two got in a heated fight once again. They truly didn’t like each other, even after all this time.

---

The only one in the twins’ group who didn’t have somewhere to go was Celis. He had no family, nor did he have anyone close to him. So, without much to do, he simply found a spot in the Soul Gem Dimensional Realm and started to cultivate again.

Of course, he was already at the limit of his cultivation, so that cultivation session wouldn’t change anything. It’s just that he wasn’t used to not cultivating, so he spent his time alone. Some might find it sad, but for Celis, that was what made him the happiest, so no one bothered him.

---

A week later, the twins’ group gathered again, and they were now in the Foundation Pillar of the Lisan Universe. They haven’t forgotten Sister Orb, especially the fact that she could integrate herself with the Universe again.

”So, Sister Orb, how will it be?” Rean asked, curious.

Sister Orb looked at the Foundation, but she didn’t look all that happy to go back there. [This is boring! Are you expecting me to just stay in there forever again?]

Soul Gem, who was also there, warned her. ”Because you had been inside the Control Orb for so long, and especially because you are the Lisan Universe’s sentience, you are deeply connected to this Universe. You can’t stay in this pseudo-soul state forever. You will eventually disappear.”

[I know...] Sister Orb could feel herself disappearing little by little, even if it would take many years to reach a critical point.

However, Roan had another idea. ”Are you sure you don’t want to return there?”

[Absolutely sure. The Universe will eventually generate a new sentience. There is no need for me to return.]

Roan then took out his CD, contacting someone. ”You can come out now.”

Then, a Spatial Gate appeared, and from inside, Default came out.
