Death… And Me

Chapter 3838: The Three New Abilities

*Pin!*

[Upgrade concluded.]

The Celestial Soul System’s voice appeared again, although the twins’ group was already expecting it. Rean and Roan had been checking the time every now and then.

Still, the system didn’t stop.

[Calculating hosts’ performance...]

[10%... 19%... 54%... 81%...]

[Completed.]

[Based on the task and the fact that ’The System Finder’ quest has no ending, the hosts have been awarded 491 Celestial Points. This reward is based on performance and can’t be altered. Further rewards can be given based on performance while integrating new systems.]

[The amount has been deposited into the hosts’ account.]

”That went better than I expected,” Rean commented with a smile. ”The System Finder quest gave no promises of Celestial Points reward, so it was a welcome bonus.”

Roan checked the points. ”884 Celestial Points, uh? We might buy something later.”

Suddenly, another voice echoed, one that was very familiar.

[Arrggg... Finally, I can speak again! Holy shit, these things take forever!]

And Sister Orb’s voice was evident for everyone to recognize.

”Seems like the Celestial Soul System forgot to fix the existence of a Sister Orb...” Rean shrugged. ”Oh well, we can’t be that greedy.”

[Do you want me to fix your face? Inside the Dimensional Realm, your Sister Orb is a goddess, alright?]

Roan ignored the two, accessing the list of upgrades, skills, and other options of the system. The reason they went through all of this was not only the System Development, but also the addition of new options in that list for them to choose from.

Sure enough, there were additions. In addition to the previous options, there were three new ones.

[Soul Connection Relay Node - 400 Celestial Points.]

[Dimensional Inversion Gate – 1000 Celestial Points]

[Yin-Yang Reversal Seal – 700 Celestial Points]

The twins quickly turned to Sister Orb. ”So, what are these three skills about?”

[Sometimes I’m impressed with how fast you can change the topic. Oh well, forget it. Let me first check what happened while I was restrained.]

Just like Rean and Roan, Sister Orb could also access their memories, although the twins couldn’t access Sister Orb’s. The twins always felt it to be unfair.

[No way! The Corrupted System had a sentience? I should have seen that coming! Hum? Oh! What an idiot! He tried to take over our system after it had already crafted a cure for the corruption. He wasn’t even complete, what a moron! That sentience was truly asking for it.]

”You can check all that later,” Roan didn’t want to wait. ”Just tell us about the new options.”

[Alright, alright... Let me see here...]

[First, the Soul Connection Relay Node.]

[Hey, this one is actually very familiar. You had this kind of skill before, the Save Point, although the range was ridiculously small compared to now.]

She continued. [Simply put, you can have up to three relay points. It won’t matter where these relay points are located; you can connect to them. It is very similar to how you used your Universe Owner’s power back in the Lisan Universe through Luan as well.]

[You drop a relay, and you can come out of the Dimensional Realm through it. This one has huge advantages compared to the past Save Point ability, though. You don’t need to be the Universe Owner, nor do you need to pay for anything. You buy the ability, and you gain access to three relay points, which you can leave anywhere you like. Just be aware, once you put down the relay, you can’t remove it. Also, if you leave the Universe where the relay exists, the relay will become inaccessible.]

Roan quite liked it. ”Not bad at all. Are there any restrictions regarding usage, like environmental ones?”

[Not really. However, to use it, you naturally have to come inside the Dimensional Realm first. So, if your access to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm is blocked, you obviously won’t be able to use it. Having access to the Dimensional Realm is the only restriction, it seems.]

”Good!” Rean also loved it. ”What about the other two?”

[Oh! The Dimensional Inversion Gate is actually even better! It can swap two places between the front and back of the fabric of space. To make it more detailed, you can select a specific area of a hundred square meters. Then, send whatever is inside this area straight behind the Fabric of Space. Seems like the Celestial Soul System was influenced by your trip behind the Fabric of Space last time around.]

[However, your targeted area can’t be more than a kilometer away from yourselves. Otherwise, it won’t work.]

Rean and Roan were even more surprised. ”This is indeed an excellent ability, especially since it could very well work in a plethora of situations instead of only running away.”

”Reminds me of the Great Void Shifter Formation,” Kentucky couldn’t help but comment.

[I agree.] Sister Orb saw that too. [The Shifter was probably used as inspiration for this one as well.]

”It costs 1000 Celestial Points. Is it for a single use?” Celis wondered.

[No. It’s 1000 Celestial Points to unlock this ability. After that, you can use it anytime you want. However, there is a cooldown of ten hours.]

”I see...” Celis very much wanted one of those for himself. ”This was truly a worthy trip to acquire these new system abilities.”

”So...” Foliana was super curious. ”What is the last one?”

[Yin Yang Reversal Seal...] Sister Orb checked, but even though she was seeing its description, she didn’t know what to say. [This one is hard to tell if it is good or bad.]

[Simply put, it can reverse Yin and Yang of any target, affecting everything connected to them. For example, if you have Fire Element Affinity, it will change to Water Element Affinity for ten seconds. The target can be anyone. Allies, Enemies, an Item, you name it. I can’t see where the inspiration for this ability came from. It also has a maximum area of effect of 100 square meters. And you also need to be a kilometer away from it at most.]

Roan pondered. ”It is a very potent ability... but it depends on the usage. The price of 700 Celestial Points. Is it also to unlock the ability or for each use?”

[It’s 700 Celestial Points each use.]

Rean quite liked it. ”In the field of Formations, this ability is indeed quite overpowered.”

Tanxan and Zangeshu vigorously agreed with Rean on the side.

The only question now was: What should they buy?
