Death… And Me

Chapter 3806: Change of Plans

There was indeed a Blacksmith Guild in this Universe, and one of such branches could be found in Lotiy. Rean’s only issue would be his ID, as anything he used before would be too risky to take out again.

Turns out it wasn’t a big problem. Rean used the fact that the residents of this Universe simply didn’t doubt each other at all. He went to register his ID, saying he lost his old one. The office in the city center didn’t ask any questions, quickly producing for him a new temporary one for this Universe’s Network.

Let’s not forget. Other than those connected to the Werdlem Empire, the rest of the beings of this Universe don’t have access to the Werdlem Network. It made things a lot simpler for Rean as his Werdlem Signature was not necessary.

With that solved, Rean went to the Blacksmith Guild. With a city as big as this one, there were indeed plenty of orders for him to take. Of course, as his ID was new, he required a test of skill. There were tests happening every day, and Rean just had to wait for the next one.

It goes without saying that Rean passed with flying colors, catching the attention of the supervisor of that test. The guy almost forgot about the other participants, being in a trance as he watched Rean’s work. Finally, Rean was given a Blacksmith Guild Badge and ID in the Guild that he could use in this Universe’s network as well.

Following that, Rean took several requests for weapons, throwing the entire thing for Zangeshu to work on in the next few days.

Next, Rean went to the Formatins Guild, also taking the test and passing it without many issues. This was a Rank D Universe, so the technology here was a lot more advanced, even if they did not have access to the Werdlem Network. Blacksmith and Formations. Rean obtained a wealth of information from both repositories, which he intended to utilize to further enhance the system armor later on.

Tanxan was given the task of researching the runes of the formation’s guild with the intention of incorporating them into the armor. It was better than letting that Formations Master do nothing in there.

Of course, there was also Foliana, who wanted to learn more about the history of this Universe. For her, Rean gave one of the communication devices of this Universe under a new ID while Sister Orb allowed for the signal to enter the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm.

”Phew...” It wasn’t before the end of the next day that Rean got some free time after delegating all tasks. ”It is quite good to have others to work for you.”

Zangeshu, who was forging one of the weapons, didn’t like that remark. ”Master, you do know I’m not your slave, right?”

Rean nodded with a smile. ”Of course! I intended to forge the weapons myself, but it was you who asked to take this task from me.”

”As long as you understand that...” Zangeshu focused back on his work.

With that, Rean felt somewhat lost. ”Now that I think about it, I don’t remember the last time I truly had nothing else to do.”

[If Roan hears that, he will definitely force you to go train your skills or something like that.]

Rean could totally see that happening. ”Let’s pretend he doesn’t exist, shall we?”

Rean decided to do nothing for a while, moving to a corner and lying down. He could just use his free time to relax... or so he intended to.

Unfortunately, not even an hour had gone by before Rean immediately got up, feeling restless. ”Fuck! My mind simply doesn’t stop working at all. Oh, right! I can simply force myself to sleep.”

And that’s exactly what he did. Controlling his Divine Energy and Light Element, he manipulated his mind, quickly falling asleep.

Kentucky looked at that, wondered if he should do the same. Too bad Celis required him to stay in his nest so they could use their synergy. Even without Starlight Energy in abundance, Celis still didn’t stop using the natural one in the air, regardless of how minuscule it was.

Just like that, three days went by in a flash, and Rean was still deep asleep. But then...

*Bang!*

*Ouch!*

He was suddenly kicked on the sides, being thrown several tens of meters away. When he opened his eyes, he noticed Roan standing where he had been earlier. ”What was that about? Don’t you know that resting one’s mind is also important?”

Roan snorted. ”You went too deep with your sleeping method, idiot. It has already been three days.”

”Eh? Really?” Rean checked the time, and sure enough, he had been asleep for that long. ”Wow... I need to do this more often. I feel great, except for the pain of your kick. Hey, does that mean you had been out for three days? What were you doing for this long?”

”That’s what I came here to discuss,” Roan said. ”Gather everyone.”

Since they were in the Dimensional Realm, it only took a minute for their group to gather around Sister Orb.

”Alright,” Roan started, waving his hand and throwing down an unconscious cultivator. Although the majority of beings in the city were devils, there were a few from the Divine Realm and even the Heavens. After all, this is a city with a Providers Path Branch.

”I went out to check the changes after what we did. After all, we destroyed one of the Light Spreaders. As I thought, the Light of the Provider spread all around the underworld, and a city as big as this Lotiy wouldn’t be different. This guy here was looking for us.”

”You took three days to track him down?” Rean asked with a smile. ”You are losing your touch.”

Roan felt the urge to give Rean a beating, but he held himself back. ”First of all, fuck you. Second, I found him almost immediately after we arrived in this City. I just followed him during these days to see what would happen. He seems to be the only one in this city, though. Other than contacting others through the network, he didn’t meet anyone else.”

Kentucky couldn’t help but ask. ”How did you find him so fast, then?”

”Pretty simple,” Roan prepared a short answer. ”Everyone affected by the Binishing Light turns into those kinds of good Samaritans. None of them acts suspiciously at all... except for this guy. He was trying to stay out of sight. What an idiot. In a place like this, doing such a thing only makes you stand out instead.”

Then, Roan entered the main topic. ”I already searched his soul, but he doesn’t know much more than we already do. However, there is something good he can be used for. He has been stationed in this city for the last three years, and in a few days, his substitute should take his place. Rean, can you copy this guy’s network ID, the one used in this Universe’s network instead of the Werdlem Network?”

Rean understood. Roan didn’t just want to go to the Divine Realm. He wanted to infiltrate the Light of the Provider while at it. For that, they will need this guy’s ID in there. ”Interesting. Zangeshu, Tanxan, change of plans. We are working on this guy from now on.”
