Death… And Me

Chapter 3505: Incoming Swarm

Rean and Zangeshu felt like idiots for not thinking about that. Yes, they have already checked a thousand times. Qwerty indeed has a processing power that far surpasses any of the CAU Units. Since CAU Units were the same as SANS Units, but without the loyalty-ensuring code, then they were the same. Proof of that was that Qwerty was really the only one with enough processing power to change the Zoshia Enterprise System instead of simply using it like the SANS Units had been doing.

Qwerty understood the plan as well. -Should I give it a try?-

-It’s either that or you will have to cut the guy’s connection and let’s hope we can hold this position until you manage to delete the loyalty-ensuring codes of all SANS Units.- Rean and Zangeshu commented back. That indeed seemed the best option.

’What is taking you this long?!’ Roan suddenly complained. Right at this moment, it was when he and Celis had to use the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm to escape. However, that method would only work for so long.

Rean understood the urgency. ’We are almost there!’ Then, he came back to Qwerty. -Qwerty, no time to waste. Things are reaching a breaking point outside.-

Qwerty didn’t want the CAU Units to be destroyed, so he put his doubts away and immediately used his connection to create a load of different processes. He even used the terminal’s various files, software, and everything he could find to create a huge pack of information. Yet, there was a trick to that pack, his own connection. The moment he sent that pack through the connection and the SANS-G01 opened it, it would be the moment he would connect to the SANS-G01 instead. -Here goes nothing!-

Once again, Rean and Zangeshu became powerless, as the information they were receiving through the box device they built was just way too big. Soon, even their own device began to overload, and it was doing nothing more than just showing what was happening. It wasn’t processing anything unnecessary.

*Tsss...*

Suddenly, the SANS Units around Rean began to get hotter, and smoke came from their processing cores. They weren’t Qwerty’s target, and yet, even they were being overwhelmed by the sheer amount of content being transfered by the network. They couldn’t even disconnect themselves from the terminals anymore, as if they got trapped there.

*Pack! Pack, pack, pack...*

Small snap sounds followed from those units, and they all began to fall to the ground, unresponsive. -Seems like Qwerty did it...- Rean commented.

-Not yet,- Qwerty spoke back. -That SANS-G01 Unit has a very big processing power too! He is trying to extricate himself from the overload I created!-

Rean and Zangeshu got confused. All the SANS Units around have fallen already. -Wait, so the SANS-G01 isn’t in this room?-

Rean gave up looking around and spread his Divine Sense. He was told the only place that could connect to the Zoshia Enterprise System was here. That said, that SANS-G01 couldn’t be too far. Sure enough, he found his target. -Fuck, there is another room above us.-

His black star sword immediately appeared, and he aimed upwards.

Zangeshu saw that. ’Master, if you open a hole in this room, we will definitely be found! At that point, Qwerty’s attempt to finish SANS-G01 silently will be meaningless.’

Rean stopped for a moment. Indeed, they went through all of this to not be found.

-Trust me, Rick!- Qwerty spoke through Rean’s device again.

Rean held himself back, but he kept his sword prepared to attack SANS-G01 above them. -Alright. But if you see you won’t be able to take him down, tell me in advance, and I can try it myself. That will buy us some time for you to shift your attention to the system instead.-

Qwerty accepted that and focused his whole attention on his connection to SANS-G01. SANS-G Units were units none of them had seen before, so it wasn’t all that unbelievable that they had higher processing power. Nonetheless, they were still not HAF100 Units, Qwerty is.

Qwerty’s own body began to get hot, and smoke slowly started to rise up. With his Divine Sense, Rean could see that the same thing was happening to SANS-G01 above. Qwerty had a higher processing power, but he was the one attacking. SANS-G01 only had to defend and try to survive. That’s why it was that hard.

*Pack!*

It was then that another one of those snapping sounds echoed, but this time, it came from Qwerty!

”Not good!” Rean gritted his teeth, thinking that Qwerty also had overdone himself. His Light and Dark Element accumulated, and he aimed upwards.

’Death Style, Stellar Pier-

Yet, before he could attack...

*Tud!*

He saw with his Divine Sense how the SANS-G01 Unit fell to the ground, becoming unresponsive like the other SANS Units. Rean and Zangeshu focused back on Qwerty and could see he was still standing. -Are you alright?-

-Yes,- Qwerty answered. However, there was still smoke coming out of his body, and his temperature continued to increase. -Don’t worry. I’m still intact. I just used the terminal’s processor to help me with the attack earlier, and the thing you heard breaking was the terminal’s processor instead. Nonetheless, it was enough to take SANS-G01 down.-

Rean narrowed his eyes. -But your body...-

-There is no helping it.- Qwerty didn’t stop. -I’m already connected to the Zoshia Enterprise System, and it is indeed way more complex than anything I’ve ever seen. Well, I haven’t seen much in my short life anyway. Just bear with me. I’m going to do it!-

Rean and Zangeshu nodded, both watching attentively. A minute passed with Qwerty continuing his work...

*Pack!*

Yet another snapping sound echoed, but this time, it came from Rean’s own device. The big box that connected them to Qwerty finally broke, unable to support so much information going through. With that, the concealment Rean and Qwerty received from it was also deactivated, and the city’s security system immediately caught them.

*Bammmmmmm...*

Everything in the room went red, and the entire Zoshia Enterprise Building received a distress call from the security system. Soon, all the SANS Units in there understood someone had invaded the enterprise. Above all, they were shocked to see where the enemy was located, the server!

”Fuck!”

Rean released his Light Bending Skill, and he returned to his original form, putting himself in front of the room entrance. Qwerty was still pulling it through, but in the end, it was his and Zangeshu’s Device that gave up first, and now they were found. How humiliating was that?

’Death Style, Stellar Piercer!’

Rean didn’t hold back, attacking the controls of the doors leading to the server. That way, the SANS Units would need to open their way by force.

*Zush!*

Zangeshu also appeared by his side, holding his own sword. ”Disgraceful! We truly made a joke of ourselves here, master!” Since he was part of the development, he took the break of their device as his own failure as well, and he was determined to make up for it.

Rean nodded. He couldn’t agree more. ”We haven’t lost yet. We need to buy Qwerty enough time.”

And so, they waited for the swarm of SANS Units that would appear anytime now.
