Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Yan Xiaoxi didn’t bother being polite anymore.

Anyway, working is something that no one particularly enjoys.

So, why not watch TV if there’s a ready-made dinner to eat later?

She believed after last night, he wouldn’t casually touch her again.

Jin Bo glanced at Yan Xiaoxi, carrying groceries and fresh produce into the kitchen.

Yan Xiaoxi heard him enter the kitchen, turned her head to take a look, and casually switched on the TV. While browsing, she suddenly stumbled upon a drama he starred in.

Familiar face, familiar presence; as soon as they flashed across the screen, past scenes became vividly clear.

She quickly turned off the TV, sat there, feeling a discomfort around her heart.

Noticing the cigarette pack and lighter on the coffee table, she reached over.

Smoking for the first time, she lit up, only to cough after a single puff. She looked at the cigarette, unsure how to put it out, went into the bathroom, turned on the tap, and extinguished it with cold water.

Returning to the living room, she sat down on the sofa, uninterested in the news. After a while, she stood up and walked to the kitchen door.

Jin Bo was washing vegetables.

Yan Xiaoxi watched his back.

Previously, because of that person, he often acted, had irregular meals, and couldn’t eat greasy food, she learned to cook.

She whipped up all sorts of vegetarian dishes for him, deliciously honing her culinary skills, but he...

Doesn’t want to think about it anymore!

Jin Bo turned around and looked at Yan Xiaoxi, ”Why aren’t you watching TV?”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”They’re all bad series, or boringly epic ones, nothing worth watching.”

Jin Bo, ”Go lie down in my bed, rest for a while.”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

She stood with her arms crossed at the kitchen door, observing, that particular person never cooked, but this older man was rather considerate.

However, the older man’s emotional intelligence is high; before winning you over, he’s all attentive, but after having you, it’s a different story.

Jin Bo, ”So I’m more entertaining than the dramas?”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

She turned and went to the living room, not wanting to glance at Jin Bo, too self-absorbed.

With nothing much to do, she lay on the sofa and started reading online novels.

...

Two hours later, Jin Bo took off his apron, wiped sweat from his forehead, and carried the dishes out from the kitchen, placing them on the dining table.

Yan Xiaoxi heard the commotion, looked up and was startled.

The mayor’s culinary skills are quite impressive, everything looks and smells amazing!

She stood up, ”Need any help?”

Jin Bo glanced at Yan Xiaoxi, ”Of course, help by sitting at the dining table, waiting for the meal.”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

Does he have to be so straightforward?

Jin Bo turned back into the kitchen and brought two more dishes out.

A hint of admiration flashed in Yan Xiaoxi’s eyes; the balance of meat and vegetables looked like something from a master chef.

Jin Bo, ”You start eating, I’ll go get the soup.”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

Is it really okay to get something for nothing like this?

Feeling slightly guilty, she saw him bring the soup over.

Jin Bo set down the soup, ”Seafood and Jade Soup, not bad, is it?”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”Mayor Jin, have you studied cooking?”

Jin Bo, ”Used to be in the army, thought the cafeteria food was terrible, so cooked for myself. Later, when carrying out tasks for a few years, I would cook, so my skills improved.”

Impressive!

Yan Xiaoxi took a look; it seemed good, not necessarily tasting good.

Jin Bo entered the kitchen again, brought out steak, handed Yan Xiaoxi a pair of chopsticks, stood up, went to the fridge to take out red wine and glasses.

Yan Xiaoxi glanced back, definitely of noble birth, life full of flair.

Jin Bo stood there, holding a wine opener, opened the red wine, poured a glass, placed it in front of her.

Yan Xiaoxi, ”Thank you.”

Though the mayor is old, his gentlemanly manner is quite good.

Thinking about his situation yesterday, she couldn’t help but ask, ”But are you sure you can drink red wine?”
