Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Jin Bo picked up the cup and took a sip, there was a faint hint of rose fragrance.

The taste was okay, but for a man, it felt a bit... strange.

Yan Xiaoxi stood by watching, for some reason, this man with a mature allure in a black suit emitting an abstinent aura, sipping rose tea, through the transparent cup, you could clearly see the unfolded red rose petals, adding a fatal seductive vibe.

Jin Bo raised his head and looked at Yan Xiaoxi, noticing she was staring at him.

Yan Xiaoxi felt a bit embarrassed.

Afraid he might do something to her, now, it was quite the opposite.

Jin Bo thought of that night, ”That night...”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”About that night, I’m really sorry, I mistook the Mayor for a robber due to my poor eyesight.”

Jin Bo paused a bit, ”Are you very afraid of me?”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

She shook her head, smiled insincerely, ”No.”

Jin Bo glanced up and down at Yan Xiaoxi, ”You seem very nervous.”

Yan Xiaoxi smiled as brightly as flowers, ”Not at all, I feel quite relaxed. If there’s anything, it’s certainly due to the Mayor’s imposing manner.”

Jin Bo, ”...”

He lit a cigarette, his voice thick and seductive like magnetic waves, ”No wonder you’re a journalist who writes articles, eloquent indeed.”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

Was this a compliment?

She let out a light laugh, ”Thank you for your kind praise, Mayor.”

Jin Bo sat there, licking his lips, Huo Bei actually had such a smart sister, always ready to counter any challenge, it seemed she wouldn’t be easily won over.

This kind of slightly mature professional woman, unlike those innocent and naive girls, isn’t easy to deceive; you must win her heart.

Looks like he has a long way to go.

Speaking of which, it was strange, he asked Ye Bai, but Ye Bai couldn’t figure out why he could only hear Yan Xiaoxi’s voice.

Yan Xiaoxi looked at Jin Bo, seeing the Mayor sitting there silently, she spoke delicately, ”I usually go to sleep early.”

Jin Bo checked the time, it was past nine, ”I heard girls are all timid, aren’t you afraid of sleeping alone at night?”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”I’m the type that’s quite fearless.”

Jin Bo stood up, leaning forward, flicking ash into the ashtray on the coffee table, ”Oh? That’s good, being fearless, otherwise, you wouldn’t dare go to the bathroom at night or look in the mirror either.”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

Why bring this up out of the blue, in the dead of night!

Ji Bo, ”Seems like you don’t watch horror movies much. I heard those who’ve seen American and Japanese-Korean horror movies easily imagine things at night, like feeling there’s a child under the covers, someone under the bed, that sort of thing.”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

Can’t a person get a good night’s sleep?

Jin Bo, ”Alright, thanks for the flower tea, I’ll be leaving now.”

Yan Xiaoxi watched Jin Bo leave and escorted him to the door.

Jin Bo, ”No need to see me off, it’s quite scary for a girl to ride the elevator alone at night, like some elevator thriller and such.”

Yan Xiaoxi, ”...”

She quickly went back to her room, locked the door firmly, and turned on all the lights inside.

...

After showering, she lay on the bed, recalling his words about a child under the covers or someone under the bed, couldn’t help but glance around uneasily.

Jin Bo returned to his place, showered, and lay on the bed smoking.

Suddenly, his mind was filled with the image of kissing her.

Smoke curled across his face, and after finishing a cigarette, he picked up his phone, glanced at the phone number he found from the informational records of the special group, and dialed it.

Hearing her phone ring, Yan Xiaoxi picked up her phone, inexplicably thinking of a ghost call.

And it was an unfamiliar number!

Answering the call, she placed it to her ear, feeling a bit creeped out.

Jin Bo’s voice was laced with a smoky allure, irresistibly enchanting, ”Are you asleep?”
