Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1139: The Mantis stalks the Cicada, unaware of the Oriole behind! (3)

”Now, now, don’t just stand here, if you know what I mean...hahaahaha!”

At that moment, Jacob instantly jolted back to reality because he knew what Immortika was implying, especially if what he ’experienced’ or ’saw’ were the events of the future.

’Yes... they’re here!’

Jacob knew he didn’t have time to mull over what had happened or to interrogate Immortika, as he looked at the residue of the destroyed cosmic gateway.

Without hesitation, he revealed his true form and the next moment...

”Infinity Blood Sacrifice!”

While Jacob was making moves contrary to his previous self, not far from him, Alexandra, draped in the Cloak of Occult, was closely watching Jacob. Moreover, unlike Jacob, her actions were without any change, and her thought process without any defect.

However, the Fateless Celestial seemed to be flickering profoundly as if observing Jacob’s every reaction.

At this point, Jacob was supposed to bluff so he could drag Alexandra out of hiding, but nothing like that took place.

”What is he doing by just standing there?” Alexandra also noticed something strange about Jacob’s actions, but didn’t suspect any anomaly with his behavior since it was her ’first’ time experiencing it.

At that moment, the Fateless Celestial suddenly shifted, and an ethereal eye appeared within the constantly shifting Möbius strip, which was even invisible to Alexandra.

’What is this anomaly?’ Destin Saint thought with a hint of uncertainty because even if Alexandra was oblivious to everything, Destin Saint wasn’t, and he wasn’t expecting Jacob’s action to alter suddenly.

”Something is not right, you need to move now!” Destin Saint’s grave voice urged Alexandra at that moment as if he didn’t care about revealing his existence at this point.

Alexandra was startled for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure, knowing that Destin Saint wouldn’t leave her alone.

”Destin Saint, I guess you were always here!”

Alexandra greeted in a sarcastic tone.
However, she didn’t know that her dialogue sent a wave of foreboding through Destin Saint’s mind, and he urged her again.

”Miss, I want you to move right now!” Destin Saint urged again, and this time Alexandra clearly felt the urgency in his tone, which was quite surprising, considering how Destin Saint had never revealed his genuine emotions.

’What is going on? Is he just pretending to be worried, or has he discovered something about that bastard!?’ Alexandra’s eyes narrowed ever so slightly as she looked at Jacob who was in his true form, ’Just now, I clearly sense a faint yet extremely familiar aura from that bastard, which means, he’s really the one who had ’it’, and if not because of Destin Saint’s presence, and Old Chaos warning, I would’ve summoned Old Chaos to confirm!

’Nonetheless, that feeling just now, and Destin Saint’s strange reaction, could it be he had found out about my real goals? Should I move or not? What if it’s a trap?’ Alexandra mused gravely as Destin Saint didn’t know he had just made a mistake.

”The deal was, I’ll do it on my own, and you’ll only provide me with some assistance. Although he seemed to be wide open, there’s something strange going on with him, you don’t need to warn me...” Alexandra coldly stated.

She had no intention of hearing Destin Saint’s command unless she was certain that her own life wasn’t in danger or if this wasn’t Destin Saint’s scheme to get rid of her as well.

”You don’t understand, there’s another entity that has hidden itself, and in my current state, I can’t counter it. However, this entity is also after the Cursed One, and he’s waiting for us to take care of the Cursed One before he swoops in and captures him!

”Furthermore, this entity is our mortal enemy. Right now, you need to immobilize the Cursed One as quickly as possible so I can take you away from here! So, I’ll urge you again, miss, move right now, or I won’t be able to help you!” Destin Saint’s voice towards the end was icy, threatening even.

Alexandra was shocked, as she hadn’t expected this sort of development, but she started to doubt Destin Saint even more, rather than realizing the gravity of the situation.

’If there is such an entity, he should’ve told me earlier. Why now? There is something wrong here, and he seemed to be desperate for me to attack...’

Alexandra thought about dropping everything and running away because she didn’t like how things were going, especially if that ’entity’ were real.

If she offended the entity, it would be a disaster for her. Not to mention, Destin Saint might not even help her escape and leave her here on her own, or, even worse, use her to slow that entity down.

Destin Saint seemed to have sensed something, and he finally realized he had just panicked and ruined his ’prefect setting’ where he would slowly manipulate Alexandra into helping him and drag her onto his side.

’This is the aftermath of using the Winter of Past! I’m losing my rationality, I need to go into seclusion as quickly as possible before the true aftermath begins...’ He thought as his calm rationality was running thin, and he knew it wasn’t because he was agitated, it was the aftereffect of the Winter of Past.

Furthermore, Jacob’s off-the-script action had seemed to affect his rationality even more because it raised a huge question in his mind, which should usually be impossible. If that was true, Destin Saint doesn’t want to find out what he’ll do in his current state.

”I would like to apologize for my tone, but you need...”

Before Destin Saint could persuade Alexandra, something shocking happened as a profound aura suddenly emanated from Jacob.
Alexandra also felt it, startled by a sense of déjà vu that struck her, ”This feeling...?”

Destin Saint wanted to ask what Alexandra meant. Still, he couldn’t because suddenly, Jacob’s infernal eyes seemed to have moved right in Alexandra’s direction as if he could see past the invisibility of the Cloak of Occult.

Jacob glared at the empty space with a cruel and indignant look as if he would never forget this grudge and repay them with interest.

At that moment, he commanded, ”Carry through!”

The next moment, Jacob vanished without a trace, leaving Alexandra dumbfounded, before a sudden realization struck her as she finally understood why she felt that way.

As for Destin Saint, a terrifying thought surfaced before he quickly surpassed it because he could feel vague yet terrible aftereffects rising just by considering this possibility, because it would mean the ’Cursed One’ was unaffected by his prowess, which was essentially his very foundation!

’D-did he know?!’
