Cursed Immortality

Chapter 838  Thwarting a God’s Plans!

At this moment, on a light throne, a child seemingly around the age of 10 with long white hair and completely white eyes had a deep frown on his adorable face, making him appear even cuter.

However, standing below the light throne, an extremely charming woman with long golden hair, pale skin, pointy ears, and bewitching spiral eyes wearing long golden robes was glancing solemnly, with a hint of apprehension in her eyes, at the mystical markings engraved on the side of this childʼs neck, which seemed to be alive and releasing a faint yet terrifying aura.

She didnʼt dare to show any disrespect in front of this child because she knew his appearance was a façade and this child could destroy an entire galaxy with a wave of its hand if it wanted to.

Whiteness, who had been staying here for almost six decades, was in a gloomy mood after he heard Elizaʼs report.

Finally, Whiteness impassively glanced at Eliza, making the Supreme Pontiff among all the Cardinal Spirit Temple, tremble with agitation, and spoke, ”So, youʼre telling me someone had claimed six of the legendary vestiges in the Path of Legend, and that person didnʼt belong to any of the people we have dealt with? And on top of that, one of your minions who just died is among them?”

”Lastly, your Inner Espy Vision can only tell you how many vestiges have yet to be claimed, but it canʼt detect the person who is thwarting my plans?” Whitenessʼs voice grew colder the more he spoke with a hint of incredulity, ”Kiddo, itʼs not like I donʼt believe you, but unless youʼre telling that someone capable of eluding your inner espy vision, which had to be above your rank, which also means, at least a Lesser God, is among the participants of the Path of Legend, Iʼll think you are not doing your best!”

Eliza paled. She was already afraid that this mightʼve happened since even she couldnʼt believe it. But the reality was sometimes extremely cruel. It was all going according to plan, and with her Inner Espy Vision, which can spy on anything unless itʼs above her rank, she was able to easily spy on the participants of the Path of Legend.

In addition, she even used an extremely powerful Law Ability to pull strings to make sure the people of the middle galaxies who had dealt with them got all the legendary keys from the lesser galaxies participants as quickly as possible.

However, things started to go south when she found the Vestige of Taurus had already been claimed. Surprisingly, she couldnʼt detect or spy on the person who got it; all she could deduce was that it had already been taken and was far out of her reach.

At first, she thought it was just because of her weakened state after using the law ability. Still, when more vestiges started to vanish the same way, and she failed to deduce their locations or the people who got them, she finally understood something was terribly wrong.

After that, she quickly paid a considerable price and activated another law ability, which allowed her to spy on someone she had seen personally and know their ʼtrue nameʼ for an extended period of time.

The person she chose was the Archbishop of the Middle Galaxy of Libra, Otis, who was among the talents she had chosen to undertake this extremely important task. She knew he had already got the legendary key.

Everything was going smoothly, and she didnʼt find anything strange until he reached the eighth floor of the Tower of Libra. Her law ability instantly stopped working and even suffered a minor backlash.

She instantly assumed the worst, and just as she suspected, not only she couldnʼt spy on Otis again, but shortly after her law ability was cut off, he died.

She knew this because Otis had a Soul Totem Sigil hidden in his soul. This not only protected others from probing his memories but also worked as a marker, allowing the owner of the Soul Totem Sigil to sense the position of its bearer and instantly know when the bearer of the Soul Totem Sigil died since it vanished with the bearerʼs soul.

If someone is capable of destroying or bypassing the Soul Totem Sigil, it will instantly react and self-destruct, taking the bearer down with it and even wounding the person whoʼs capable of destroying or bypassing it.

After all, only Legendary Kings can create their own unique Soul Totem Sigil from their Mystic Signatures. Only the Mythical Rank might have the ability to get rid of them safely. Eliza had personally used her own Soul Totem Sigil on all the members of the Cardinal Spirit Temple who were capable of passing the tower trials, and she also had contact with the other legendary kings whose heirs were capable of the same things.

She had already confirmed with two of them that their heirs had died, so in the end, she had no choice but to report this to Whiteness since this matter was too strange and apparently out of her league.

Although she knew Whiteness was a friend of her Ancestor, and he wouldnʼt harm her because of her importance and the existence behind her, she wasnʼt entirely confident since no one could comprehend the thoughts of a God!

Whiteness suddenly sighed. He could tell Eliza wasnʼt lying to him; after all, she knew the consequences, not to mention that her future, Godhood, also depended on it.

”Alright, you can go now. Let me think about this, and Iʼll summon you again. You may rest until then; I might need your assistance again,” Whiteness dismissively stated.

Eliza was astounded and couldnʼt help but have a huge sigh of relief as she quickly bowed, ”Thank you, Exalted One, for your trust. Eliza will keep trying!”

She declared with determination and a hint of chilling killing intent before she left the throne hall, which was supposed to be hers. She really wanted to flay that person who was interfering with her fortune!

Once Eliza left, Witness sighed again, and a gloomy chill appeared on his baby face.

At this moment, an amusing ethereal voice suddenly rang like a whispering melody, ”Just what are you after, Higher God Whiteness? It seemed you had met with some problem, but after hearing that, Lassie, this matter is not simple, and it seems I have to get involved.”

Whiteness pulled a vexed smile, as he wasnʼt surprised by this voice at all, and replied aggressively, ”I didnʼt know Senior Constellation Arbiter Leo had a tendency to spy on juniors. But my reply to you is the same as the last time: If you want to know my purpose, you should seek my Master, not me.

”Iʼm just following my masterʼs order, and you know I wonʼt back down unless, of course, you can take me down here and now, which both of us know wonʼt bode well for the entire Legendary Plains.

”However, if you can grant me the passage to the lesser galaxies, Iʼll be out of your hair in no time. I promise you that I wonʼt break any rules, and you should know better than anyone that my Master is an existence of rules, and if any of her children break them, even me or my brethren, weʼll cease to exist!”

The Constellation Arbiter Leo went silent for a while before its voice rang again, ”Forgive me for not complying, but you need to tell me why you want to go to the lesser galaxies since itʼs challenging for even me.

”Who knows, I might even help you. You may think about it some more while I report this matter back. Remember Higher God Whiteness, we are not your enemies. We are also trying to make sure the Zodiac Plainsʼ rules reign supreme!” Whiteness merely snorted, but a hint of hesitation appeared in the depth of his eyes for the first time as he was deep in thought with wavering determination!
