Cursed Immortality

Chapter 882: Trouble in Space! (2)

The twelve cosmic continents of the Legendary Plains were extremely special and magical, and there was a reason they were called ʼcosmic continents.ʼ

The first reason a Cosmic Continent can birth life planets and life galaxies, also known as elemental planets and elemental galaxies, is that they are a unique and rare phenomenon of Legendary Plains.

These elemental planets and elemental galaxies exist within the chaotic space of the Zodiac Plains. Chaotic Space is a special place where only law-tier entities can enter, and anyone else will be torn into shreds.

Anyhow, when an elemental planet or elemental galaxy appeared, it caused a special

phenomenon in the area known as the Cosmic Providence, and a Cosmic Gateway was formed that led to an elemental planet or elemental galaxy filled with rare resources, sometimes even ancient artifacts and unknown treasures.

But the biggest enticement of these Elemental Planets and Elemental Galaxies was naturally the Legendary Vestiges, which is why they were always fought over by many powers.

However, if someone could claim the Legendary Vestige of an Elemental Plangent or Elemental Galaxy, they would cease to exist and vanish with everything within.

Now, some Elemental Planets and Galaxies were very special, and they were more useful to keep around than to destroy them by acquiring their legendary vestiges. So many powers sealed such planets and galaxies and used them as training grounds, herb fields, or even rearing rare resources like magic beasts or other rare beings that could not exist in the legendary plains.

Only the most trusted members were given access to such places because if someone with malicious intent entered and secretly claimed the legendary vestige, their efforts, and resources would be gone for good.

Furthermore, these kinds of places were very good for hiding as long as they could hide the cosmic gateway. Mostly, these Elemental Planets and Elemental Galaxies were homes of Legendary Kings who also called themselves ʼCosmic Kings.ʼ

In the Great Cosmic Continent of Scorpio, there was a place called the Myriad Galaxy Guardian Mountains. It was a power afflicted with the Alchemy Guild, and the Myriad Galaxy King was actually a King Alchemist and part of the Alchemy King Council of the Alchemy Guild, which held the highest authority in the Alchemy Guild of Legendary Plains.

The ranks above the Great Elder of the Alchemy Guild were the same as the legendary ranks: Fable Alchemist, Noble Alchemist, Lord Alchemist, and King Alchemist. There are three levels: Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced, depending on what rank a legendary treasure an alchemist can create.

They also do not have unique titles for their specialty, such as Pills, Rune Artificer, and such, in their names because at the legendary rank, even a Fable Alchemist can create quasi-legend rank pills despite never indulging in the profession of pill creating because of the Soul Force and laws.

Nonetheless, creating a legendary rank treasure was still not easy because the materials required were extremely precious and limited. Thatʼs why the alchemists of legendary rank were very popular.

At this moment, the entire vicinity of the Myriad Galaxy Guardian Mountains was enveloped in a vast corporeal barrier, and Zodiac Beasts were relentlessly clashing with it.

This once peaceful and very lively place had turned into a chaotic battlefield and locked itself because of the Zodiac Beasts crisis, just like any other place in the Legendary Plains.

Even those usually protected and arrogant alchemists had no choice but to enter the battlefield, support the barrier, and kill those abominations outside from time to time just to make sure they wouldnʼt overwhelm the barrier and breach it, or things would turn worse for the entire Myriad Galaxy Guardian Mountains.

Furthermore, because of the emergency situation, the three elemental planets and an elemental galaxy were opened for young and weak members of the Myriad Galaxy Guardian Mountains to seek refuge while the Myriad Cosmic King was keeping the Legendary King Rank Zodiac Beast in check.

The Zodiac Beastsʼ movements were very strange and unpredictable, especially those of the Legendary King Rank because, for some reason, a Legendary King Rank Zodiac Beast only attacked places with other Legendary Kings but never those without one.

Furthermore, these Legendary King Rank Zodiac Beasts always hide in space and only show themselves when other Legendary Kings take action against lower rank Zodiac Beasts.

This was also why the Legendary Kings were so helpless against them; even if more than one Legendary King moved to kill a Zodiac Beast, the same number of Zodiac Beasts would appear almost instantly.

It was almost like someone or something was controlling the tides and setting up strange rules. The strangest part was that if a Legendary King retreated, the Zodiac Beast fighting it also retreated.

But the thing was, those Zodiac Beasts still harassed them from time to time as if they were playing with them, which made the Legendary Kings fumed.

One Legendary King even went as far as burning its own soul to kill a Zodiac Beast and succeeded, leaving the Legendary King barely alive. But to this Legendary Kingʼs despair, another Zodiac Beast instantly replaced the dead one, and this time, the Zodiac Beast didnʼt stop until it killed and devoured that Legendary King as if it were an act of revenge.

Thatʼs why the Legendary Kings are now extremely careful and wonʼt throw their lives away, especially not until they figure out how many of these monsters are hiding and what their schemes are.

At this moment, within the endless battlefield of the Myriad Galaxy Guardian Mountains, the Space Travesty Shuttle appeared on the horizon, but it was followed by an unknown number of zodiac beasts.

Jacob, shocked by these beasts and their terrifying numbers, naturally spotted the barrier with the help of the copilot. Elia was also terrified since they just couldnʼt catch a break from them throughout their journey.

In hyperdrive, they might be safe, but since it consumed so much energy, Jacob spotted it. To their surprise, they will meet with more zodiac beasts no matter how many times they get rid

of them.

So, when Jacob heard that there was a place with living beings in the detection range, he instantly came here because he couldnʼt waste more energy and also needed to figure out what was going on.

Now that he saw the barrier blocking those countless beasts, he instantly commanded, ”Pass the barrier!”
