Chapter 2520: Revealing the Truth to the Nine Heavens(2)

After a long moment of silence, someone in the crowd nervously asked, “What do you mean when you say we are not prepared to face the demons? Are you saying that we would lose in an all-out war against the Demonic Realm?”

“That’s correct,” Yuan answered in a loud and clear voice, instantly dumbfounding countless people present.

He continued in a grave tone, “That is precisely what I am trying to say. If the Nine Heavens were to clash against the Demonic Realm in a full-scale war, we would be completely at their mercy.”

“There’s no way!”

“How is that possible?!”

Yuan then explained, “Time flows much faster in the Demonic Realm than it does in the Nine Heavens, and a single year there is equivalent to roughly a single day here.”

“This means that, in terms of cultivation, they have already surpassed us by an unimaginable margin.”

He paused briefly to let them digest this information before continuing in a solemn voice, “Not only are Cultivation Gods as common as weeds in the Demonic Realm, but they have already discovered the realm beyond the Cultivation God Realm.”

“WHAT?!”

Countless shocked gasps and cries instantly erupted throughout the venue the moment they heard those words, many staring at Yuan with wide eyes filled with disbelief.

Cultivation Gods as common as weed? A realm beyond what they considered the peak of cultivation? This was hard to believe, even though it was coming from a legend like the Divine Paragon.

However, some people were shocked for entirely different reasons.

Suddenly, one of them raised their hand and nervously asked, “Senior… if time truly flows much faster in the Demonic Realm… then wouldn’t cultivators who train there become far stronger in much less time than those who remain in the Nine Heavens?”

Yuan nodded before responding, “Yes, those who cultivate in the Demonic Realm would indeed progress much faster… provided they can actually survive the environment there. The very air within the Demonic Realm is vastly different from that of the Nine Heavens, and most people would struggle to remain there for extended periods of time.”

“Then how come you seem fine? If you’ve been there for millions of years in our world… that means you’ve spent billions of years over there!”

“Don’t compare me to ordinary people,” Yuan sneered. “Not only do I possess a special constitution, but I have also consumed countless demon cores over the years, which greatly helped me adapt to the environment of the Demonic Realm.”

The crowd once again fell into silence after hearing Yuan’s arrogant yet undeniable words.

A moment later, Yuan continued speaking, “If any of you wish to visit the Demonic Realm, then by all means, go ahead.”

He then narrowed his eyes at the crowd and added, “However, if you yourselves are unwilling to coexist with demons in our world, then what makes you think they would willingly allow you to cultivate in theirs?”

“…”

“Anyway, let’s move on to the next topic and delve into the origin of demons. After learning about their origin, some of you might have an easier time accepting them.”

“As all of you already know, demons closely resemble humans, whether it be their physique, limbs, or facial features. Sure, they may possess different skin tones or certain distinct traits, but overall, the similarities between us are undeniable.”

“In fact, this resemblance becomes even more pronounced among higher-ranking demons. Hell, there are demons in the Demonic Realm that are indistinguishable from humans, and there is a reason for that.”

Yuan took a deep breath before revealing what was perhaps the most shocking piece of information yet.

“That’s because demons… used to be human at one point in time.”

“…What?”

Everyone present, aside from the Demon Sealers, stared at Yuan with expressions filled with bewilderment and disbelief, many of them gawking openly as though they had just heard the most absurd statement in their entire lives.

“Demons were once humans,” Yuan repeated, his voice clearly echoing throughout the stunned silence.

“However, a certain catastrophe eventually befell them, transforming them into what we now know as demons.”

He then shook his head slightly before adding, “Unfortunately, I cannot reveal the details behind that catastrophe, so don’t bother asking.”

When Yuan immediately shut down the very question lingering in everyone’s minds, the silence that followed became even heavier and longer than before.

“Well, that’s pretty much all I have to say. If you have any questions, feel free to approach me and ask, as I will be available for questioning for as long as the banquet lasts—seven days.”

Yuan then looked at the Demon Sealers and said, “Let the banquet officially begin!”

Immediately, the Demon Sealers started serving food and drinks, and some of them even started playing the instruments and dancing on a nearby platform.

Despite how sudden and weird it felt at first, people started approaching Yuan shortly after.

“Senior Divine Paragon—”

“You can just use my real name.”

“Then, Senior Tian… Can you tell me more about what you saw in the Demonic Realm?”

“Of course. What do you want to know?”

Thus, the banquet officially began.

It didn’t take long before a huge crowd gathered around Yuan, listening to his stories and adventures inside the Demonic Realm.

“Do you truly believe that we will be able to coexist with demons?” someone asked.

“I believe they deserve a chance, and I used to be the biggest demon hater,” Yuan chuckled.

“I know I can’t ask you about the catastrophe that turned them into demons, but what about your reason for not telling us? Wouldn’t it be better to tell us so we can prepare for and prevent it?”

Yuan shook his head and said, “There’s no need to prepare for it, as it’s not an illness or disease, but that’s all I will say.”

“Then are demons contagious?” someone suddenly asked in a tense voice. “If we want to coexist, we first need to know whether there’s any chance of humans turning into demons simply by being around them.”
