”Next!”

Waiting for their turn in the line into the Pure Heart City, Qing Yi could not help but glance nervously towards the inside of the city. Hoping to spot Chu Yang’s figure at any moment as they slowly moved closer and closer to the guard granting access to the city.

If he was not there, they would definitely not be allowed in without giving away their identities first! Especially given how they messed up and dirty both she and Huang Yongyu currently looked, there was no way the guards would allow them to enter without knowing their identities.

However, with the plan Huang Yongyu had come up with they had a shot of entering the Pure Heart City without giving away their identity. Only, Chu Yang, the most important person for their plan to work, was nowhere to be seen!

”Next!”

Watching as the people in front of them slowly went through the gate, Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu were finally called over by the guard as it was their turn.

”Hm? What happened to you two?” Glancing down at both of them and their shabby appearance, the guard could not help but raise his one of his eyebrows in surprise.

This was the first time the guard had ever seen someone looking as pitiful as the two people in front of him! Even the homeless people he had seen in the past were better off than the two young people in front of him.

”W-we encountered a bandit group on our way to the Pure Heart City…”

Remembering the story Huang Yongyu had come up with for their act, Qing Yi did her best to act pitiful as she said this. Hoping that Chu Yang would show up at any moment to help them gain access to the Pure Heart City…

Their plan was a simple, but useful one. Having Chu Yang sneak inside the Pure Heart City and have him act like a young master from one of the sects that had recently began moving more people into the Pure Heart City.

On the other hand, Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu would act like fellow disciples that had been unfortunate enough to encounter bandits on their way to the Pure Heart City and had all their stuff stolen.

After this, Chu Yang would show up and hopefully help in fooling the guards to let them in and handing over a token without having shown any proof of identity… However, this would only work if they successfully managed to give off the impression that they were indeed someone from one of the sects inside the Pure Heart City…

The reason why they didn’t all just sneak in through the river, was that they needed a token to get a boat to the Pure Heart Island.

Coincidently, the token in question would be given out at the entrance to the city by the guards after passing their identification process.

”I see… Do you perhaps any proof of identity still left on you? I sadly won’t be able to let you in without it…” Showing a sad look upon hearing what Qing Yi said, the guard still asked if they had anything that could help identify who they were.

”W-we don’t have any… We lost our sect identification token when fighting the bandits and our robes are not really in good enough condition to be used as identification in its current state…”

Stepping forward, Huang Yongyu showed off his tattered robes filled with several holes from all sorts of different weapons in it.

”Someone from a sect…?! Do you think it’s one of those sects…?”

”Who knows? Could just be someone pretending in an attempt to enter Pure Heart City…”

”I don’t think so… Just look at the quality of those robes! Definitely not something a normal person could get their hands on! I’m sure they are the robes normally worn by disciples of those sects!”

”True, but can they still let them enter without-”

Listening to the people still waiting in line behind them begin speculating over whether they were truly disciples of one of the sects, Qing Yi supressed her cultivation and deliberately released a pressure comparable to someone around the middle stages of the Qi Condensation Realm. Soon Huang Yongyu did the same thing.

According to what Huang Yongyu had said, this was the normal cultivation realm of the disciples among the sects that were ganging up on the River Sect.

”They really are cultivators!”

”But it still doesn’t mean they are from any of the sects!”

”What if-”

Observing both Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu as they ’revealed’ their cultivation realm in an attempt to show proof of their identity as sect disciples, the guard felt conflicted on what to do.

On one side, letting them enter without really showing any proof of their identity would be against normal regulations and might end him up in a troublesome situation later on and lose his job, if they ended up not being sect disciples.

On the other side, if they really were sect disciples and he ended up blocking their entry into the Pure Heart City… He might end up suffering a terrible fate later on. After all, the sects were not really known to be kind and he already heard several stories from his friends about how some people who offended the disciples or elders ended up disappearing later on… He did not want to disappear, and he didn’t want to lose his job either!

Feeling troubled at his current situation, the guard looked over to the other guards. Only to end up disappoint when seeing all of them look away pretending not to see his current situation.

You guys!

Screaming internally, the guard could not help but curse at the people he thought of as friends in the past.

”I-”

”Ah! There you guys are! What took you two so long? And how did you end up like that?”

Just as the guard was about to come to a decision about? Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu’s entry into the city, a loud voice echoed out from behind him as everyone turned to look towards the origin of the voice.

””Senior Brother!””

Seeing Chu Yang appear from inside the Pure Heart City, Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu both seized the opportunity. Putting on a distraught expression as they called out to him.

”Who is this person? He is dressed so well and looks so handsome as well…”

”Is this perhaps one of those rumoured young masters? So those two really were from one of those sects…”

Watching all of this happen from the side, the guard felt a shiver run down his spine.

He had just been about to refuse the Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu’s entry into the city, yet a young master from one of the sects had suddenly appeared! Luckily, he did not manage to turn them away yet!

If that really happened, he might have to deal with the anger of the young master currently in front of him… A poor gate guard like him would definitely not survive such an encounter…

”Might I ask if these two are with the young master…” Nervously walking up to Chu Yang while Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu were explaining about their earlier encounter with a group of bandits, the guard asked in a respectful tone. Even bowing his head in an attempt to not anger the young master.

”Are they with me?! Of course, they are! How dare you question this young master!? Do you perhaps want my Ghost Howl Sect to identify ourselves every time we enter and exit this city?!”

Putting on his best young master act, Chu Yang arrogantly said this while throwing out the name of one of the sects currently inside the Pure Heart City, that according to Huang Yongyu, was still in the process of moving a large number of disciples over to visit the Pure Heart Island for a training exercise.

”Yeah! How dare you question the friends of the young master!”

”Wai-”

”Dumb guard! Didn’t you hear the young master said his fellow disciples are with him! Why are you not letting them in!?”

”I-”

”Boo! A guard like you should just go away, your ugly appearance stains the young master’s pure eyes!”

Watching as a large group of females both young and old appeared from the south gate, the guard was suddenly caught between a rock and a hard place as he was ruthlessly attack by the ravenous group.

”H-here! This is the token for using the facilities of the Pure Heart city, I… Have something urgent to do!”

Not daring to stay around for any longer, the guard hurriedly handed over a token to Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu before running away.

””…””

Looking at how easily things went after Chu Yang showed up, Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu could not help but glance towards the aggressive group of women following behind Chu Yang with a passionate expression on their face.

Maybe Chu Yang was born to be a young master…?

Feeling this thought enter their mind at the same time, Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu soon entered the Pure Heart City together with Chu Yang.
