Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Registering the two missions was not difficult at all, as they would only need to show their identification token to the staff member, who would then note it down.

Quick and simple, without any long and drawn-out procedures to finish before being able to take on the missions…

Qing Yi and Chu Yang were both a bit surprised after this as they had not expected for it to be so easy and quick. After all, the number of disciples inside the Mission Hall at the moment, had made them think that it would take longer than just a few seconds…

”Should we go with the bandit mission first…?”

Standing in front of the entrance to the mission hall, just having made their way outside, Qing Yi turned to Chu Yang standing beside her as she asked.

”Yeah… Dealing with the bandits should be a given. After all, the longer they are left alone, the more chaos they will cause to the villages close to the Red Flower Ridge where they are currently located… If we wait too long, they might even change the location of their base. Making it harder for us to find them again…”

Nodding his head in agreement, Chu Yang and Qing Yi both came to a decision as they began making their way out of the Flying Sword Sect. Picking up a suitable demon beast to ride there from the reluctant beast tamers on the way…

Like this, Chu Yang and Qing Yi made their way out of the Flying Sword Sect for the first time since joining the sect without their master, Xuan Hao, accompanying them!

…

Boom!

”Argh!”

At the same time that Qing Yi and Chu Yang were setting off towards their first ever adventure, Feng Chen was having a bad time as he was hit by the tail of a large serpent demon beast and sent flying into a nearby mountain.

”Feng Chen! Are you okay?!”

Coming over to help Feng Chen up, Zu Fei anxiously inspected every inch of his body as she hatefully glared in the direction of the serpent demon beast a few hundred meters away.

Sssss?

The serpent demon beast who was about to launch another attack towards Feng Chen when he was down, hesitated for a moment upon feeling the angry gaze of Zu Fei. For some reason, it felt a shiver run down its body as the human female glared at it…

Roar!

Just as the serpent demon beast shook the weird feeling off, a loud roar echoed from the distance.

Ssss!

Acting extremely panicked upon hearing this roar, the serpent demon beast no longer cared about Feng Chen any longer, as it quickly turned around and slithered away.

”Hah… I’m fine, I just need to rest for a moment… For now, let’s get out of here before the origin of that roar earlier shows up!”

Breathing in deeply as he watched the serpent demon beast slither away in fear, Feng Chen hurried Zu Fei to move.

No matter what, the serpent demon beast was at the peak of the Nascent Soul Realm. For it to be scared of just a single roar… Feng Chen did not dare to stay around and wait to find out the origin of the roar…

”…”

Zu Fei stayed silent for a short moment before she picked him up into a princess carry and ran towards a nearby cave on the back side of the mountain that Feng Chen had just crashed into.

Rustle~

Entering the cave, Zu Fei took out a thick blanket from a bag she had been carrying.

Whoosh~

Using a qi technique to construct a decently sized rock bed, Zu Fei put the blanket down on it before gently laying the exhausted Feng Chen down on the newly constructed bed.

”Thanks…”

Not saying anything else, Feng Chen closed his eyes and began recovering.

The last month had been way more exhausting than Feng Chen had expected. Fighting demon beasts at the Nascent Soul Realm had already become a daily struggle and he didn’t even know if he could keep chasing after the Raging Flame Sect’s Sect Master if Zu Fei had not shown up two weeks ago to help him.

It had already been close to a month since he entered the Burning Mountain Range to chase after the Raging Flame Sect’s sect master and he had finally managed to find some traces of him and even managed to pinpoint a possible location where he could be secretly cultivating.

But the location was not easy to enter, and he had ended up encountering the demon serpent at the peak of the Nascent Soul Realm just before reaching the place that he suspected the Raging Flame Sect’s sect master to be secretly cultivating…

”But how did that guy manage to reach such a deep part of the Burning Mountain Range…?”

Zu Fei watching Feng Chen recovering in front of her could not help but mutter this to herself.

How the Sect Master of the Raging Flame Sect managed to reach such a deep area and even found a place to safely cultivate was truly something curious.

After all, Feng Chen at the Ninth Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm and with the help of Zu Fei only managed to reach this part of the Burning Mountain Range after one month of continues struggle!

How did the Sect Master of the Raging Flame Sect who was only at the Eighth stage of the Nascent Soul Realm reach this place…? And without anyone to help him as well…?

”No use thinking about it, we will eventually find out after finding him!”

Hearing Zu Fei’s muttering, Feng Chen opened his eyes and reassured her with a kind smile before closing his eyes once again. Focusing on recovering once again.

”!”

Cupping her head in her hands with a light blush appearing on her face, Zu Fei could not help but look away shyly.

She had indeed made the right decision to follow after Feng Chen! She was able to spend so much time alone together with him!

Now that Shu Yao had begun appearing, Zu Fei felt strangely anxious every time she watched her and Feng Chen together.

Back when she heard Feng Chen had gone out to search for the missing sect master of the Raging Flame Sect, the first thing she did was rush over and make her way into the area of the Burning Mountain Range bordering the territory of the Raging Flame Sect.

It took two weeks to find Feng Chen! But she had arrived just in time to help him fight off a group of Nascent Soul Realm demon beasts… Even at this moment, she could still remember the thankful look on his face after she appeared and helped him chase off the group of Nascent Soul Realm demon beasts!

ROAR!

Rumble~

Just as Feng Chen was fully focused on recovering and Zu Fei was lost in her own fantasies. The same roar that they had heard earlier scaring the peak Nascent Soul Realm serpent away, once again echoed through the surroundings as the mountain cave they were hiding inside of began shaking violently.

ROAR!

BOOM!

This was not the end of it, as an equally terrifying roar sounded a little further away before a large explosion could be heard outside as the sound of two large objects violently crashing into each other could be heard.

Crash!

”We have to get out of here… But that would just get us killed… Let’s move deeper into the cave for now and wait for things to settle down on the outside!”

Watching as cave around them began collapsing, Feng Chen sprang up from the bed constructed by Zu Fei, grabbing her hand before dragging her deeper into the mountain cave.

Crash!

Bang!

The mountain cave behind them collapsed completely as both of them made their way deeper inside the mountain cave. Leading them deep into the ground.

…

Rumble~

As the battle from above grew fainter and fainter, Feng Chen came to a stop and cautiously looked around himself before letting out a breath of relief. Releasing Zu Fei’s hand at the same time.

”We will rest here until I recover. After that we should try and look for a way out… Digging does not seem like an option as the entire thing will just end up collapsing down on us before we reach the surface…”

”…”

”Zu Fei? Are you sick?! Did you perhaps get hit by one of the serpents poison attacks earlier on!?”

Not hearing anything from Zu Fei, Feng Chen turned around and saw her completely red face as she trembled weakly.

”N-no, it’s nothing, I’m fine!”

Turning her face away as she tried to calm down, Zu Fei could not help but remember the feeling from earlier when Feng Chen had grabbed her hand and dragged her away…

”I see… But remember to tell me if there is something wrong!”

Doubtfully looking over at Zu Fei, Feng Chen soon sat down and began recovering once again.

He had to recover quickly so he could get out of this cave and resume his search for the sect master of the Raging Flame Sect!

Given the battle outside, he might even decide to leave and find a quieter spot!

Feng Chen would not let him disappear again when he was so close! If he found out about what happened in the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, he would most likely decide to run away and at that point, the Flying Sword Sect would have a hidden enemy representing an unknown danger in the future.

At the same time, he would also have wasted the last month…
