Corpse Burier: I Can Nourish Corpse

Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Unexpected Gain

If there’s external interference from elixir pills or magical power, it can actually accelerate their reproduction and corrosion.

Previously, many side peak physicians attempted to find ways to cope with the Law-Devouring Yin Insect, but without exception, all efforts were fruitless, and there was even an instance of someone accidentally contracting the Law-Devouring Yin Insect and becoming a mortal.

Since then, ordinary physicians dare not touch the Law-Devouring Yin Insect. Luckily, it can be resisted with magical talismans, as long as it doesn’t invade the body and meridians through a wound, no issues will occur.

Similarly, regarding the Law-Devouring Yin Insect, neither Feixian Peak nor other side peaks have much recorded about it, and it hadn’t even appeared in the Cultivation Realm at Deadman Peak until a few years ago; hence, it’s likely from an external Gu Raising Technique.

The one controlling it now is an evil cultivator wanderer named Gu Daoist, with a Qi Cultivation Fourth Layer level, previously unknown, but due to mastering the Law-Devouring Yin Insect, he has gained notoriety in the Cultivation Realm at Deadman Peak over the years.

However, upon receiving this information, Wen Jiu’s first reaction was not to marvel at the might and sinister nature of the Law-Devouring Yin Insect.

Instead, it was a certainty that Liu Xiao’s return must have been orchestrated by the opponent.

”Kid, don’t overthink. These days I can tell you’re a person of deep feelings, but some things are simply predestined.” The old physician sighed, having been accustomed to saving lives for years.

Wen Jiu nodded without saying more.

He’s not one to be overly sentimental—any rare reflection is fleeting.

After further understanding the Law-Devouring Yin Insect, Wen Jiu did not entertain rash thoughts about helping Liu Xiao.

But it stirred a deep interest in the Soul-Devouring Yin Insect for him.

If he could raise a Law-Devouring Yin Insect, just broadcasting its notorious name would make nine out of ten enemies carefully ponder. Those evenly matched opponents wouldn’t dare dueling or clashing with him.

As for the title of Heterodox Demons, as long as he stays within the sect and doesn’t harm fellow cultivators,

it doesn’t count.

Since speaking rights in the Cultivation Realm at Deadman Peak belong to Deadman Peak, rather than those loose cultivators and heterodox evil cultivators.

”I can first get a bit of Soul-Devouring Yin Insect to see the situation.” Wen Jiu decided internally and then sought out Liu Xiao once more.

This matter definitely needs to be discussed with Liu Xiao first; the very act of Yin Technique entering the body requires Liu Xiao’s absolute cooperation, otherwise, it could harm Liu Xiao and yet yield nothing for himself.

After elucidating the situation to Liu Xiao, Liu Xiao promptly agreed without further words.

For Liu Xiao, aiding Wen Jiu at this juncture would undoubtedly deepen their previous relationship, which was a definitely positive outcome.

Thus, at nightfall, Wen Jiu secretly went to Liu Xiao’s injury recuperation place and began releasing a thread of Yin Technique into Liu Xiao’s body when no one was around. The Yin Technique cautiously traveled through the meridians until reaching the Dantian, witnessing a joyful scene— the Law-Devouring Yin Insect did not devour his Yin Technique.

Rather than devour, the Law-Devouring Yin Insect, upon encountering Wen Jiu’s Yin Technique, started to evade, seemingly dreading his Yin Technique.

This was entirely unexpected and a delightful surprise for Wen Jiu. Then, he tried to forcibly fuse his thread of Yin Technique with the Soul-Devouring Yin Insect, but the result was not as expected—failing to merge together.

However, there was good news that his Yin Technique could capture the Soul-Devouring Yin Insect without harming himself.

This opened up avenues to gradually experiment until finding a perfect integration method between the Yin Technique and Soul-Devouring Yin Insect.

Subsequently, Wen Jiu tried to nurture the Soul-Devouring Yin Insect with his Yin Technique, but they seemed uninterested.

Thus, Wen Jiu forcefully fed them, extracting them from Liu Xiao’s Dantian, and immersed them in his Yin Technique.

Initially, they still didn’t feed.

But shortly thereafter, began cautiously consuming small bites.

After consuming the Yin Technique, the Soul-Devouring Yin Insect instantly transformed, no longer wandering aimless like headless flies, but began being controlled by Wen Jiu’s Divine Sense. Although not yet fused with the Yin Technique, it felt the day was not far off.

Against this.

Wen Jiu rejoiced.

”This way, I can help Brother Liu remove the Soul-Devouring Yin Insect completely and also reap the favor of the Corpse Eye.”

However, Wen Jiu didn’t decide to act immediately. Though he could manage slowly with Yin Technique, it also meant once leaked, he’d become the thorn in the side of that Gu Daoist.

The main concern was Gong Chi and the unnamed traitor.

They will surely try to eliminate him first.

And he couldn’t possibly remain forever within the sect without venturing outside, so it’s best to keep this affair under wraps.

Even though remembering Liu Xiao’s favor, human hearts are unpredictable. Wen Jiu refrained from gambling; if he planned to do this, he must first perform the Silence Technique on Liu Xiao to block any chance of exposure.

Once he’s successfully cultivated, he can lift it later on.

If Liu Xiao refuses, then so be it; the favor of the Corpse Eye can only be repaid through other means.

...

He set to work promptly.

Wen Jiu went to the Dharma Transmission Tower the next morning to practice the Silence Technique.

The Silence Technique, though called a technique, was more akin to a contract, not difficult to practice.

Dubbing it a spell, two individuals jointly perform it. Wen Jiu provides the content for silence, while Liu Xiao merely needs to nod. Once executed, if Liu Xiao speaks of this matter to outsiders, he’d perish instantly.

Even the Soul-Searching Technique is rendered useless.

Needless to say, the inventor of this technique was indeed a genius, though likely driven by deceit and schemes among people.

After revealing this to Liu Xiao at his recovery place, Liu Xiao agreed but Wen Jiu didn’t mention the purpose of the Law-Devouring Yin Insect, only stating it’s to help remove it, without wanting others to know it was his doing.

”Younger Brother Wen, you’ve given me a hope to continue living, what’s the Silence Technique, come on, come on, as long as it doesn’t claim my life, go ahead!” Liu Xiao enthusiastically agreed with sparkling eyes.

In the past days, he’s come to terms with things.

But that was acceptance born from despair.

There’s still family.

There’s still children.

If not accepting it, what else is there to do?

Yet deep down, he still wished to cultivate, even if it meant never reaching the Qi Cultivation Fourth Layer his entire life, that didn’t matter.

He simply just wanted to.

”Brother Liu, then I’ll begin.”

Wen Jiu promptly started performing the Silence Technique.

Moments later.

The Silence Technique was complete.

From then onwards, Liu Xiao could not reveal to a second person outside of Wen Jiu that it was Wen Jiu who removed the Law-Devouring Yin Insect.

Moreover, he couldn’t disclose any relation between Wen Jiu and the Law-Devouring Yin Insect to outsiders.

Only then did Wen Jiu feel entirely relieved, starting to try removing and separating the Soul-Devouring Yin Insect using his Yin Technique. But, the Soul-Devouring Yin Insect was growing rapidly in Liu Xiao’s Dantian, prompting a decision to tackle it once and for all.

Since deciding to help,

he might as well do it thoroughly.

Preventing Liu Xiao from having to nurse his Dantian injuries for several more months.

However, Wen Jiu was temporarily unable to store all the Soul-Devouring Yin Insects within himself as the majority were not controlled by Wen Jiu’s Divine Sense, prone to chaotic movement and potential danger.

Therefore, Wen Jiu decided to initially raise the Soul-Devouring Yin Insects within a Black Corpse until they completely integrated with his Yin Technique, before absorbing them within himself.

But unexpectedly for Wen Jiu, when he summoned the Black Corpse, Liu Xiao, in proximity, began to feel its presence strongly and raised a question Wen Jiu hadn’t anticipated, ”Younger Brother Wen, to be honest...is this Black Corpse stronger than me?”

At close range, he felt an overwhelming sense of pressure from the Black Corpse.

This feeling was akin to when he faced Mu Canglong or that Gu Daoist.
