Charm point maxed out, inheriting game assets

Chapter 191: Chapter 165: Chance Encounter, Trust Company Chapter 191: Chapter 165: Chance Encounter, Trust Company May 22, 2023, Monday, clear skies, 15~28°C.

The sunlight filtered through the light grey chiffon curtains, warming the bedroom and making it bright and cheerful.

“Ding Ling Ling—” The crisp sound of the alarm clock rang out.

Yao Lingling sat up in bed, turned off the alarm on her phone, and remained seated, lost in thought for a moment as she gradually woke up.

She had stayed up late last night to finish Tang Song’s design sheets; by the time she went to sleep, it was already 1 AM, and now she felt a bit listless.

Aside from genuinely wanting to help her friend, there was another significant factor.

She found the garments that Tang Song sent to be fantastic!

As a professional design assistant, she naturally had a keen sense for clothing design.

A successful pattern requires in-depth knowledge of clothing design, an understanding of ergonomics, and mastery of fabric characteristics.

The garments Tang Song sent were detailed down to the buttons and stitching, and they even included fabric annotations.

While making the design sheets, she felt a perfect blend of art and function that inspired her, and she couldn’t wait to get to the company to produce the prototypes.

If he could send her a few more sets of clothes at this level, that would indeed be a beacon of light on her path to becoming a designer!

Thinking this, Yao Lingling’s face showed an excited expression. She quickly got out of bed and slipped into the bathroom, still wearing her nightgown.

Washing up, skincare, arranging her hair, makeup…

“Minmin! Hurry up, or I’m not waiting for you!”

“Okay, okay!”

“What about you, always spending over 20 minutes in the bathroom. I swear I’m going to replace your toilet with a squat one! Weren’t you watching those fringe videos again?”

“Don’t rush me! Coming out now!”

The sound of the toilet flushing, Li Shumin walked out somewhat unsteadily on her feet.

She changed her shoes, grabbed her bag, took her helmet, and went downstairs.

“Vroom vroom vroom—” A black and white electric scooter slowly left the Star Garden Community, weaving through the city corners.

Yao Lingling lifted the visor of her helmet and squinted her eyes slightly.

In May, the early summer brought a gentle breeze.

The one hugging her waist, Li Shumin, pinched her and asked with a laugh, “Lingling, you’re really devoted to your online boyfriend, working on the design sheets for him, not even going out on weekends. If President Xiao finds out, he’ll probably explode with jealousy.”

“I told you, it’s just a joke!” Yao Lingling smacked her on the thigh. “Also, stop teasing me about Mingxuan at the office, it’s easy for others to get the wrong idea, we’re just friends.”

“What’s there to be afraid of, a misunderstanding might even be better!” Li Shumin said sourly, “Even as good friends, you’ve already hit the jackpot. I envy your dumb luck, just don’t forget to help your sisters when you make it big.”

The boss’s son, hidden within the design department, and it just happened that Lingling stumbled upon the secret.

A plotline from a novel come to life, truly an enviable and tear-inducing turn of events.

…

The two chatted and laughed as the vehicle gradually reached the company’s building.

After locking the scooter, they squeezed into the elevator and managed to clock in on time.

As soon as she arrived at her workstation, Yao Lingling saw a Starbucks paper bag on her desk.

Xiao Mingxuan from the opposite desk waved and said, “I figured you didn’t have time for breakfast, so I brought you something. Let me know if you need anything in the future.”

Yao Lingling smiled somewhat sheepishly, “How much was it? I’ll transfer the money to you now. Starbucks is twenty or thirty for a meal, once in a while is okay, but I really can’t afford it all the time.”

As a design assistant, her salary after deducting social security and housing fund wasn’t much more than 3000, a price beyond her budget.

Her usual breakfast was just a couple of meat buns and a cup of soy milk from Lawson Convenience Store, occasionally ordering a serving of oden.

“No need, just bring me a breakfast tomorrow if you can.” Then Xiao Mingxuan added mysteriously, “Lingling, you’re so talented, you might even get a promotion and a raise very soon.”

Yao Lingling was taken aback, her heartbeat quickening.

After all, this was the company president’s own son; if he wanted to promote her, he definitely had the influence to do so.

“Then I’ll take your auspicious words to heart.” She composed herself, excitement bubbling inside as she took her seat.

She turned on the computer, eating breakfast while sending the design sheets to Tang Song.

She messaged him, “Little brother, the design sheets are ready. If you have any other clothing sketches, you can send them my way, too. Making these design sheets was hugely beneficial for me, and I’m very grateful.”

No sooner had she sent the message than her phone vibrated.

[Director Peng Xinlei: “Lingling, come to my office.”]

Yao Lingling took a deep breath and headed quickly to the director’s office.

After knocking and receiving an affirmative response, she walked in tentatively.

Director Peng nodded at her and asked, “Lingling, you’ve been with the company for a year now, right?”

Yao Lingling promptly nodded, “A year and three months.”

She had joined Shangya Clothing Design Company through campus recruitment, initially as an intern, and was only officially employed as a design assistant after graduation.

Director Peng encouraged her, “You’ve always performed very well, and I appreciate you.”

“Thank you for the recognition, leader!” Yao Lingling’s eyes showed anticipation and nervousness.

Director Peng paused for a moment and then smiled, “Our company’s summer men’s line needs an additional new style. We’ll assign this task to you, and Xiao Mingxuan will act as your temporary assistant.

If the prototype passes the final approval, you’ll be officially promoted to a clothing designer.

Whether you can seize this opportunity is up to you! Good luck!”

“Thump thump thump—” Her heartbeat grew louder and more forceful.

Yao Lingling’s face flushed as she said, “Thank you for trusting me, I will definitely work hard to complete the task!”
