Chaotic Sword God

As he searched like this, Jian Chen crossed through more and more regions of the Taiji Heaven. He also searched through numerous peak organisations one by one.

Although peak organisations were Jian Chen’s main focus, he did not spare any medium-sized or smaller organisations either.

He was aware of the principle that not all treasures would gather in the hands of powerful experts. Some cultivators that did not seem particularly powerful could obtain certain treasures through sheer luck or coincidences as well.

After all, after all these years, those in possession of the Energy-gathering Divine Mountains might not necessarily be the same people or organisations that initially took them.

Several days later, Xue Ji brought Jian Chen to the outskirts of a primitive mountain that was filled with extremely dense spiritual Qi and they stopped there. Afterwards, she hesitated to advance any further, as if she was wary of this place.

“Whose territory is this?” Jian Chen stared into the dense mist and his face gradually became stern. In the deepest spot, he could sense an extremely powerful formation.

“Up ahead is the Thousand Mountains clan. It’s best if we don’t get too close to them, to show them the respect they deserve,” Xue Ji said sternly.

“The Thousand Mountains clan, the second greatest organisation on the Taiji Heaven?” Jian Chen’s eyes shone. The information in his possession about the Thousand Mountains clan was not as detailed as Xue Ji’s, but he still knew a little bit.

The greatest organisation on the Taiji Heaven was called the Cosmic Hollow. The ancestor of the Cosmis Hollow was the greatest expert on the Taiji Heaven, a powerful existence at the peak of the Sixth Heavenly Layer of Immortal Exalt. It was said that he was only a step away from the Seventh Heavenly Layer.

There were numerous Sixth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts on the Taiji Heaven, but the reason why the ancestor of the Cosmic Hollow could claim the title of the greatest was entirely due to one of his glorious feats in battle in the past. He managed to last ten rounds against a Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt with his strength at the Sixth Heavenly Layer without being defeated!

It was also after that battle that he consolidated his title as the greatest expert on the Taiji Heaven.

After the Cosmic Hollow was the Thousand Mountains clan. The Thousand Mountains clan’s strongest expert was also at the Sixth Heavenly Layer of Immortal Exalt, but it was said that this person was a junior who rose up much later than everyone else.

It was exactly because of the rise of this junior that it pushed the Thousand Mountains clan that was originally even far beneath the Black Demon Palace to the height of the second greatest organisation on the Taiji Heaven.

Xue Ji stared at the clan in the mist in a slight daze and said gently, “The Thousand Mountains clan right now is no longer the second greatest organisation on the Taiji Heaven. They’ve surpassed the Cosmic Hollow to become the greatest.”

“However, this is a secret that only a limited few on the Taiji Heaven know about. In the knowledge of regular cultivators or smaller organisations, the Cosmic Hollow is still the greatest.”

When she reached there, Xue Ji suddenly turned her head and stared at Jian Chen in a strange way. She said, “Actually, the reason why the Thousand Mountains clan rose up to become the greatest is connected to you.”

“Really? It’s connected to me?” Jian Chen was surprised.

Xue Ji nodded and said sternly, “When you destroyed the Immortal Sect of Colossal Elephants and went missing, the ancestors of the Immortal Sect of Colossal Elephants were furious but they had nowhere to vent, so they turned the entire Reverent Observance Heaven upside down. It was also from that time that the ancestor of the Thousand Mountains clan clashed with the Space-splitting Venerable of the Immortal Sect of Colossal Elephants outside the Reverent Observance Heaven. Afterwards, the rumour was that the ancestor of the Thousand Mountains clan defeated the Space-splitting Venerable.”

“Ever since then, the greatest organisation on our Taiji Heaven became the Thousand Mountains clan.”

When he heard that, Jian Chen was left at a loss for words. For a moment, he had no idea how to respond or react.

“Do you still want to check the Thousand Mountains clan?” Xue Ji looked at Jian Chen.

“Of course I do. No one is an exception. Let alone a Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, even if the Thousand Mountains clan had a Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, I’d still check them,” Jian Chen said firmly.

When she heard that, Xue Ji laughed. She said, “You’d check them even if they have a Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt? Don’t tell me you plan on snatching food from the jaws of a tiger?”

“Maybe not that. I obviously won’t make a futile effort against an opponent I can’t defeat. I just want to confirm the locations of the Energy-gathering Divine Mountains. As long as I know which organisations possess them, then I’ll be able to slowly come up with a way to retrieve them.” As Jian Chen said that, the Energy-gathering Divine Mountain had already appeared in Jian Chen’s hand. He did not get too close to the Thousand Mountains clan. Instead, he maintained a certain distance away and began sensing for the Energy-gathering Divine Mountains.

Xue Ji stood to one side rather nervously. She was extremely worried that an Energy-gathering Divine Mountain would appear in the Thousand Mountains clan. She was afraid that Jian Chen would offend the Thousand Mountains clan and potentially get the Black Demon Palace involved.

Suddenly, Jian Chen shuddered inside. Through the Energy-gathering Divine Mountain, this hazy, familiar feeling appeared again. It directly pointed at the Thousand Mountains clan.

There really was an Energy-gathering Divine Mountain in the Thousand Mountains clan!

Jian Chen was both surprised and delighted by finding a lost Energy-gathering Divine Mountain so soon. However, in order to prevent any mistakes, he used the Energy-gathering Divine Mountain in his hand as a guide and began to make a closer and more precise judgement.

Only after an entire minute did Jian Chen stow the Energy-gathering Divine Mountain away. His gaze was deep.

Xue Ji could sense the changes in Jian Chen’s gaze, which made her heart tighten. She asked in a hurry, “Do they have one?”

“They do! The Thousand Mountains clan has an Energy-gathering Divine Mountain!” Jian Chen’s eyes shone brightly as he stared straight at the Thousand Mountains clan.

“What? They actually have one?” Xue Ji was startled. Her fears really did come true. What she worried about the most had ended up happening.

“Then what do you plan on doing next?” She asked closely. There was a hint of worry in her eyes.

Jian Chen turned towards Xue Ji and said with a slight smile, “The strongest ancestor of the Thousand Mountains clan is not on the Taiji Heaven, so I can retrieve the Energy-gathering Divine Mountain like retrieving something from my own pocket. No one can stop me. However, you don’t seem to wish for me to come into conflict with the Thousand Mountains clan.”

Xue Ji subconsciously glanced in the direction of the Black Demon Palace. She sighed gently, “The strongest ancestor of the Thousand Mountains clan is not where, but if you want to retrieve the Energy-gathering Divine Mountain from them, you’ll still have to use the power of the Divine Formation of the Heavens.”

“That way, everyone will know that you’re responsible for what happened here. In the future, it’ll all be fine if I don’t show myself, but once I appear in the Divine Formation of the Heavens, the Thousand Mountains clan might go after the Black Demon Palace.”

“Once something like that happens, the Black Demon Palace won’t stand a chance against the Thousand Mountains clan. Apart from being powerful, the strongest ancestor of the Thousand Mountains clan has a deeper background, which is a member of the upper echelon of the Courtyard of Ways, one of their decision makers!”

“Compared to the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor, is the upper echelon of the Courtyard of Ways stronger? There’s even a heavenly emperor personally coming after me, so am I supposed to fear a Thousand Mountains clan?” Jian Chen disagreed.

Xue Ji faltered, but shortly afterwards, she seemed to be willing to accept whatever decision Jian Chen wanted to make again.

It was true. From the moment she decided to leave the Black Demon Palace and return to the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, some outcomes had already become set in stone.

“How do you plan on going about it?”
