Chaotic Sword God

The Profound Spirit Master’s eyes narrowed violently in shock. After the devastating beam of light from the Divine Formation of the Heavens locked onto him, he felt like he had been engulfed by an aura of death. A feeling of despair filled his mind.

He wanted to retreat immediately, but he discovered that he was immobilised. The strike from the Divine Formation of the Heavens was far too terrifying. It affected space and interfered with order, forming an invisible restraint that pinned him in place.

The restraint was not particularly powerful. With the Profound Spirit Master’s strength, he only needed three seconds to break free from it.

But let alone three seconds, he did not even have a moment right now.

The Divine Formation of the Heavens launched a supreme attack as soon as it appeared. It was far too quick.

“No—” The Profound Spirit Master was overwhelmed with despair. He only had time to let out a howl inside. In the next moment, a tremendous sound engulfed the region. Terrifying storms of energy swallowed the space there.

Immediately, the space twisted as the ground shook. The entire Skyscraping World seemed to tremble gently.

All of the Immortal Exalts nearby were blown away by this terrifying storm of energy. No one remained standing near the centre of the explosion.

“Impossible, this is impossible. How can he make such a terrifying formation launch a second strike in such a short amount of time…”

“Argh! Dammit! Not only can he launch a second strike so quickly, but the attack this time even seems to be slightly stronger than before…”

......

…

The Immortal Exalts were either blown several hundred kilometres away, or they slammed heavily into the nearby rocks. However, they did not care about their wounds. All of them stared at the centre of the explosion in disbelief as their eyes remained widened.

A while later, by the time the devastating storm of energy slowly settled, all of the disciples who assembled the Divine Formation of the Heavens had already vanished. Only Jian Chen and the extremely large Thousand Soul Demon Exalt remained.

The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt stood half a step behind Jian Chen. With his strength as a Fourth Heavenly Layer Demon Exalt, he seemed like a servant as he stood behind Jian Chen.

As for the Profound Spirit Master, he had completely vanished. There were no remains. Apart from three high quality god artifacts, nothing remained.

With a wave of his hand, the three high quality god artifacts all ended up in Jian Chen’s hands. They were a blade, a sword, and a net.

But at this moment, the three god artifacts had all sustained damage to various degrees.

High quality god artifacts also differed in strength. Some of the weaker high quality god artifacts would not even survive an attack from the Divine Formation of the Heavens.

As for high quality god artifacts of extremely high grades such as the Divine Armour of Heavenflight, the Divine Formation of the Heavens at its current level obviously could not damage them. It could only leave behind a faint mark on the surface.

Not only did the Divine Formation of the Heavens’ attack kill the Profound Spirit Master, but all of the formations set up around the steps to block Jian Chen from leaving the mountain peak had been destroyed as well. All of the materials for the formations had shattered.

“Master!”

A voice filled with joy and surprise rang out. Jing Mumu quickly flew up the stone steps. The presence she gave off was not powerful. As a matter of fact, it could be described as puny, but she moved with extraordinary speed, no slower than an Immortal Exalt.

That was the power of the Immortal Devouring Orchid!

With so many Immortal Exalts around, the Immortal Devouring Orchid could not let Jing Mumu face them by herself. Even a slight pulse of energy was enough to claim her life.

Escorted by the Immortal Devouring Orchid’s power, Jing Mumu arrived by Jian Chen’s side in the blink of an eye, hugging his arm intimately.

“It’s too dangerous here. Go and stay in the divine hall.” Jian Chen looked at Jing Mumu tenderly before forcefully sending her into the divine hall before she could say anything.

The Immortal Devouring Orchid left Jing Mumu and coiled itself around Jian Chen’s wrist with great familiarity and ease. It seemed like a stylistic bracelet.

“Hehe, sect master, the next time you use the Divine Formation of the Heavens, it’s going to be quite a bit stronger yet again.” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt glanced at the Immortal Devouring Orchid and let out a strange laugh.

“Let’s go. Now is still not the time to face them openly.” Jian Chen looked at the figures behind him and flew off into the distance quickly without any hesitation with the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt and the Immortal Devouring Orchid.

Although the strength available to Jian Chen had greatly increased with the Immortal Devouring Orchid’s return, he was not arrogant enough to think that he could face off against several dozen Immortal Exalts with just the three of them.

Once they were surrounded, he would be fine because he had the Source of Life to heal him, but the Immortal Devouring Orchid and the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt would be in danger.

He fled with the seed of ways. Behind them, several dozen Immortal Exalts glanced at one another.

The fact that the Divine Formation of the Heavens could fire a second attack in such a short amount of time had taken everyone by surprise.

The Profound Spirit Master’s death had also made them waver. They were deeply shocked.

However, it also demonstrated the power of the Divine Formation of the Heavens to them once again.

As a result, the fact that the Divine Formation of the Heavens slew the Profound Spirit Master in a single strike did not frighten away these Immortal Exalts. Instead, it stirred up their greed and desires even further.

“Apart from the formation, Yang Yutian no longer possesses anything that can threaten us. Quick, we have to capture him before the formation recovers its power…”

“Yeah, we can’t give him the chance to fire it a third time…”

Very soon, apart from a Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt in black, the other Immortal Exalts all went after him.

The Immortal Exalt in black did not leave. Instead, he sat down on the stone steps. His eyes shone brightly, making no attempt to hide his burning greed and eagerness.

Around four hours later, two figures swiftly climbed up the stone steps, arriving before the Immortal Exalt in black in the blink of an eye.

They also wore black clothes. They were a Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Monarch and a Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor.

“Greetings, Soul Guarding Ancestor!” The two of them were very polite, bowing to the Immortal Exalt.

The Immortal Exalt in black was an ancestor of the renowned peak organisation, the Divine Sect of Ancient Souls. He was known as the Soul Guarding Ancestor.

The Soul Guarding Ancestor looked at the two of them and said hoarsely, “A tremendous opportunity has appeared in the Skyscraping World. If our Divine Sect of Ancient Souls grasps this opportunity, then it will directly alter our fate in the Immortals’ World. We’ll even be able to stomp the organisations that have been constantly opposing us under our feet.”

“Our Divine Sect of Ancient Souls must capture this opportunity, but our strength alone is nowhere near enough to seize it. As a result, I require the two of you to hold a ritual and use the supreme forbidden technique. We need to form a bridge of worlds through space and directly summon the soul of the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy.”

“What? We need to summon the soul of the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy?” When they heard that, the elder and great elder were immediately surprised.

The Divine Sect of Ancient Souls was an ancient organisation that had existed in the Immortals’ World for countless years. Despite having lost its former glory, the sect still had multiple Immortal Exalts. The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloud was the strongest ancestor in the sect. He had reached the peak of the Seventh Heavenly Layer of Immortal Exalt!

What was the peak? That was reaching the very end of his current realm of cultivation, caught by the barrier to the next realm.

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy was only a step away from the Eighth Heavenly Layer of Immortal Exalt.
