Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Encounter on the Train

The Northern Domain was still cleaning up the aftermath.

A special post-war directive was in effect: a total no-fly zone!

This was an order Qin Tianxuan had issued before his departure.

Not even fighter jets could take off freely; they required the handwritten signatures of both the Night Emperor and Battle Pavilion Wutian.

Initially, Wutian had arranged for a private jet to get Qin Tianxuan back to Su City as quickly as possible.

But Qin Tianxuan didn’t want any special treatment, so he boarded a southbound train by himself.

Messages from his subordinates kept pouring in through the secure line on his phone.

This time, aside from Battle Pavilion Wutian, who stayed behind to stand guard in the Northern Domain, the others, like Prince and Lingsu, had all been given a long vacation. Qin Tianxuan wanted them to have a good, long rest.

But it seemed they were all heading to Su City anyway.

’These guys... Do they think I’m a child that needs to be looked after?’

Qin Tianxuan shook his head with a resigned sigh and turned off his phone.

He was on a freight train used for transporting supplies to the Northern Domain. The car was empty of people, stuffed instead with burlap sacks, which were actually quite comfortable to lean against.

The other cars were full, so while this space was cramped, it was also a good place to get some uninterrupted sleep.

The train was about to depart. Just as he was closing his eyes to rest, a crisp voice rang out from outside. ”They won’t let private jets fly, and you can’t even find a long-distance bus. You think I want to ride a beat-up, filthy train like this? It can’t be helped! This is the fastest route to Su City. Hurry up, let me on!”

Hmm?

’That voice sounds familiar.’

A moment later, he heard muttering, followed by the clacking of high heels on the carriage steps.

”Ugh, what is that smell? It’s so filthy! How can there not even be any seats?”

Ye Xuanxuan boarded the train and was utterly dumbfounded. Since when had the young miss of the Ye Family ever had to ride such a rundown train?

She managed to shove a sack aside just as the train started to move.

Ye Xuanxuan frowned, taking off her trench coat. A single burlap sack was all that separated her from Qin Tianxuan.

She still thought she was alone in the carriage.

He watched as the young miss of the Ye Family spread her trench coat over one of the sacks and began fanning herself relentlessly.

”I’m dying of heat! This is horrible! This trip is going to take more than ten hours. How am I going to survive?!”

Fidgeting, Ye Xuanxuan squeezed her legs together. ”Oh no, I really have to pee.”

Qin Tianxuan had been about to get up and say hello, but now things were awkward. He simply closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep.

The carriage was unbearably hot and stuffy. This kind of freight train had no air conditioning, and surrounded by dry cargo, even the windows were sealed shut.

An hour later, Ye Xuanxuan was on the verge of tears.

Aside from the agony of having to hold her bladder, she was also completely drenched in sweat.

Her little tank top was grimy, and her jean shorts were sticking to her skin.

”There’s no one here... and... and no cameras... Wh-why don’t I just take my clothes off?” Ye Xuanxuan muttered to herself again.

Pretending to be asleep, Qin Tianxuan frowned. ’This girl is asking for trouble.’

’The train makes stops along the way. There are plenty of vagrants who hop freight trains on this route.’

Ye Xuanxuan’s phone chimed.

She answered irritably, ”It’s me. Hurry up and book me the best five-star hotel in Su City. I need a proper shower the moment I arrive!”

”What? You’re asking about the others? How should I know? It’s like they’ve all died. None of their phones are connecting.”

Ye Xuanxuan continued her tirade, ”And those bastards from the Qin Family who went to the Northern Domain, they’ve also completely disappeared.”

Her temper was getting more and more volatile. ”That fiancé the family arranged for me, that Qin Wuhui, was a worthless bastard! He disgraced himself in front of the entire world. Thank God he died fast, otherwise my life would have been ruined! You tell Grandpa that I’m going to Su City to find my idol, the Night Emperor, and that he should just leave me alone!”

”Huh? Grandpa found me another fiancé? Who?”

”Oh, one of the Four Young Masters of the Imperial Capital? That handsome one from the Luo Family? Hmm, I remember him. His name is Luo Tianying, right? Well, he’s worth considering... Okay, I’m hanging up. My phone’s almost dead.”

She put down her phone. Apparently unable to stand the stuffy heat any longer, she yanked off her tank top.

Ahh, much better.

She kept fanning herself as she started to unzip her jean shorts.

From behind the burlap sack, Qin Tianxuan opened his eyes, startled to see the girl with her back to him, bending over to take off her shorts.

He was speechless. Just as he was about to call out to her, the train car suddenly let out a strange, groaning sound. K-K-KRAK.

There was a railway bridge up ahead, and the train slowed as it was about to enter a tunnel.

And from outside the carriage door came the sound of people climbing aboard.

”Quick, get on! It’ll be too hard to climb on after this section!”

”Boss, what do we do with all this gold we stole?”

”Just carry it for now! We’ll figure out how to unload it in the next big city!”

”But Boss, these are supplies from the Northern Domain Battle Department! If we get caught, it’s a guaranteed execution!”

”No shit! You think I don’t know that?”

The door to the train car was pulled open a crack!

Clutching her clothes, clad only in her underwear, Ye Xuanxuan was scared stiff.

”Get over here!” a deep voice sounded from behind her.

Ah!

A jolt went through Ye Xuanxuan. Seeing the robbers about to climb in, she couldn’t think about anything else. She frantically scrambled over the sacks and threw herself into a man’s embrace.

”It’s you? You pervert! You were watching me the whole time? Ahh, I’m going to die of embarrassment!”

Ye Xuanxuan’s face was beet red, and tears welled in her eyes.

She furiously pinched Qin Tianxuan’s arm. ”You scumbag! You piece of trash! You saw everything!”

”Shut up!” Qin Tianxuan pressed her into his chest, because he had heard the telltale sound of a gun’s bolt being racked.

’Anyone who dares to rob the Battle Department must be a wanted fugitive. Just from the sound of that bolt, I can tell it’s a standard-issue Battle Department weapon!’

Qin Tianxuan wasn’t afraid, but having an idiot like Ye Xuanxuan with him was bound to complicate things.

”Shh, don’t move. They have a gun!”
