Bloodlines Online

The world felt strange as Ezekiel exited the private player hub he had created, it was like the world was actually breathing.

When playing through the game in the past he had noticed how lifelike the world really was but now it was like the world had a heartbeat he had not felt until this new update.

’This is crazy weird, maybe now is a good time to check my system before I go into the dungeon again.’

Looking at his new status made Ezekiel realize just how much had changed for the system, especially when reading through the explanation offered by the system for what these changes meant.

’So in summary the skills that are meant to be part of the same mechanic are placed under an umbrella term like Mana Manipulation, my entire mana system and my skills related to creating mana constructs also got placed into this umbrella term.’

He also noticed that since he had gained a unique pet he had apparently been given certain skills.

’So as part of our status as master and pet I gain certain skills from Amaru and she gains certain skills from me, did she pick the skills? Did the system pick them? I’ll focus on that later.’

The next change he saw was what came from the completion of the quest to become acknowledged by the god of shadows.

While reading through all of his new traits he was thoroughly pleased, previously with his mana becoming Void mana as a permanent change he saw that the value had been cut by a value of ten from seventeen thousand down to seventeen hundred.

This had barely left hom with enough max mana to cast a single Frenzied Void Star and when increasing his mana during dungeon runs he was able to bring that mana value to two thousand again.

With the update it seemed that mana was something that could still be increased as part of the new system and if the numbers remained the same then the one thousand percent increase to his mana meant he should be at about twenty two thousand Void mana as his current mana pool.

’Well that should give me plenty of mana to fight with, Lucretia asked the god to help me? I’ll have to thank her when this is done.’

He had finished everything with the quest given by the council of the infernal kingdom but he still had to go slay that problematic leader of a nearby nation before he could be done with this.

’All of this effort to get the council to acknowledge me as good enough for Lucretia, she must truly respect those bastards if she didn’t simply consume them for this.’

He looked down at Amaru who was lazily snoozing on his body like a sash and decided that he wanted her to be a higher level for the excursion.

He couldn’t see her skills or spells but it seemed her baseline stats were not exactly bad.

Her Constitution seemed to be much better than his, her Vitality better as well.

As they entered the dungeon once again he smiled to himself as he planned to let Amaru take every kill he could, he had consumed basically every single enemy in the dungeon at least five times before the update so he probably couldn’t gain anything aside form experience anyway.

”Ok Amaru, it’s feeding time.”

~

Lucretia had been fighting the urge to kill someone for days.

She was not addicted to killing but a certain Lion Beast Folk was making her mood so bad that she simply couldn’t ignore it any longer.

”King Recta, would you leave me be already! I grew sick of your pestering on the first day I met you but you have no shame!”

”Beautiful devil queen~”

The lion tried to get closer but a barrier of razor sharp blades of shadow mana instantly filled the space he tried to occupy, forcing him to retreat.

”You will feel it eventually, I can smell how your heat torments you ever since you arrived. My mates would welcome a new addition to the pride.”

She was growing more enraged each time she heard him mention her beast blood traits and the specific traits that had started to run wild ever since she finally found a mate she had accepted.

She growled deep in her throat before turning away with the barrier still placed between them to stop his pursuit.

As she left the area she took flight to find a place to be alone and free of the thoughts that plagued her, that was when she saw the fully armored angel speaking with the queen of angels.

’Hmph, I might as well go figure out what is happening with the otherworlders and the holy war against that disgusting fool.’

As she got closer she heard the quiet voices of the two stop, but not before she heard the word pope.

”Queen Lucent, little angel.”

She nodded at each of them before disregarding the angel to speak to the queen.

”I need a distraction from that foolish lion and his total disregard of my chosen mate, do you have any news regarding the war?”

~

As Alexander walked away with his breath held from the fear of the devil queen he felt only a deep chill clawing at his spine.

He remembered that the devil queen Lucretia had famously been unwed despite being so powerful that even among the strict rules about marriage in the Infernal kingdom she would have easily been able to obtain an entire harem of beautiful males with the most exceptional affinities.

He did not know why she remained unwed even after centuries of life but he did know that there was a major event during the holy war related to the devil queen and the beast king.

’She has a mate? She didn’t have a mate before... WHAT HAPPENED?!’

He thought about everything in the past and how Lucretia was such a strictly hands off ruler that only showed up when a person broke the rules of harvesting devils.

To this day he still remembers what happened when the first city to openly start allowing the sale of devil cores were brazen enough to display horns.

Horns that were revealed to be harvested from a dead male.

The land nevwr recovered from her rage, the ground could never grow plants and even the mana itself seemed to treat the place like poison.

’Devil Queen Lucretia, one of the five S grade existences on the planet. Hell, calling her simply an S grade is not even doing her justice as she could possibly be as strong as some of the major gods of the world... if she has a mate then that means she might end up accepting a coven.’

As he flew to a dungeon to try and get a few extra levels he began to think of the implications of a being like Lucretia finding more devils she would accept as part of her marriage, if she accepted any at all.

’Please gods above let this male stay alive or the entire planet might be destroyed.’
