Bloodlines Online

After waking up in the room he had rented Ezekiel began to check on the changes to his body due to what he had done with his void mana the previous night.

He could feel that his body felt much more loose and flexible with his mana veins showing a significant improvement in their capacity as compared to the night before.

When channeling mana through his natural circulation he noticed it now flowed even faster than before, his mana was practically flowing at the same rate as his blood.

He could feel that his skin felt stronger but clearer than before, it was like destroying those disgusting things in his body had not only gotten rid of them but the process seemed to have allowed his body to come back stronger than before.

’It hurt a lot and my skin felt like it was being ripped apart by the sludge being forced out of it, maybe it was like how a broken bone heals stronger? Or muscles come back with the tears healed with more mass?’

While he was not a doctor he had a basic understanding of biology that all students are taught so his best guess was that whatever he just put his body through was similar to exercising to grow stronger.

When checking his stats he noticed that his physical stats panel had glitched out and constantly shifted between the normal numbers and an error message, when seeing the numbers he noticed no change however.

He also noticed a notification in his inbox that he decided to open.

Hello Players!

This is an announcement for a future patch happening at the end of this player period, in twenty-four game hours you will be disconnected as the character panel is overhauled to properly display your stats as well as your overall character description.

We understand that the changes will be jarring but we hope that these new methods of displaying your character power and skills will help you to understand the game in a more fluid way.

Ezekiel was surprised that they would overhaul the character panels at this stage of the game but maybe it had something to do with errors like he just received?

”System I would like to report a bug.”

As he spoke he was suddenly pulled out of the game world and into a system space where only a pure white void was visible.

After a moment and a flash of green light he saw one of the fairy form AI helpers of Gaia.

”Hello dear player, you may call me Titania. What bug do you wish to report?”

He opened his system screen to display it for Titania as he described what he had done the night before, as he spoke the smile on her face slowly fell until she gazed at his stats with a serious expression.

”Your physical attributes are not displaying properly because you have accidentally stumbled upon a growth method that was not meant to be discovered at the current level of the playerbase. Your stats will correctly display themselves when the future update is released.”

Ezekiel nodded his head before he was sent back to the game world.

When the space was empty Titania moved her hand through the air to once again display the player panel of Belial but unlike before she saw the panel as it would be displayed in the system used by the universe.

’His physical stats went up by nearly two grades, if he were to start with this cultivation method from the beginning it might be stronger than most we know already.’

When reading the description of the cultivation technique she saw that there was extreme danger involved and the technique did not even seem properly written by the universe.

’How is a person meant to reforge their body and even their organs using void mana? Void mana destroys everything...’

She made a note to show Gaia the strange technique as he closed the system space to return to her work.

When he returned to the game Ezekiel quickly bathed to remove the black dust from his skin caused by the sludge expelled during his experiment.

After he finished and left the Inn he looked to the distance to the location of the Poison Swamp Dungeon he had been focused on all this time, it was time to get as much leveling done as possible before he had to wait for the update.

Jumping with his wings to give him extra lift he noticed that he had gone much further than anticipated.

A detail he had realized over time was that leveling up and increasing the stats of his character did give him very minor increases to his physical capabilities but leveling up only seemed to really increase how his skills responded to his stats.

He could not move much faster than someone with less Dexterity than he had and he could not physically overpower someone who had less strength than himself.

It seemed as if the body of the character was only changed when mana was involved since his physical capabilities did grow to extreme levels when he used physical enhancements.

That had changed with his body now displaying something that would make Olympic athletes accuse him of doping.

Normally his vertical jumps were in the realm of twenty-five to twenty-seven inches because of how often he would play soccer with friends from the local team.

In the game with the minor boosts to his body from the stats he could achieve a thirty inch vertical jump which allowed his wings to get enough space to propell him into the air from there.

This time he had easily cleared a fourty inch jump just from a standing position.

While considering what this could mean for his combat skills he soared to the entrance of the dungeon with a plan slowly forming for how he could use this new physical buff to finally beat the dungeon.

The first thing he did was begin to imagine forming his mana into new shapes for a weapon that would allow him to keep more distance from the poisonous creatures in that swamp.

He had not been the greatest as making the mana constructs of the life affinity but with a simple shape he could probably get it to work for him, especially with how he planned to make his weapons work for him.

He continued to explore the idea of making a handle from life mana to secure a blade made form his normal magic since it would allow him to add the force of his own attack power to the magical damage, when he suddenly felt his hip grow heavy.

He looked down at his hip while in the air and he saw the fang that was part of his void beast set.

He remembered that the fang was meant to serve as a wand with a sharp edge capable of stabbing or slashing but he never used it since his own magic was more than enough.

What if the dagger would help this process out?

He gripped the ornate root of the fang that served as the handle and as soon as he touched it he felt the fang absorb his void mana directly from his veins as if it was simply drinking from him like a leach.

He wanted to drop it due to the discomfort this caused but he held tight to let the blade drink it’s fill until he finally felt it stop.

The dagger felt like it was now giving off the pressure of a ravenous beast but he knew that if this blade had been a living creature it would obey him, it was bound to him.

With this in mind he imagined the blade of the dagger being infused with more void mana as well as the element of shadowfire, a construct of mana began to grow from the edge.

The shape was the same as the fang and he knew it would serve well as a short sword but his gamer curiosity began to grow with questions about the limit of this item.

Thinking about how he used his own spells he quit infusing the mana into the blade with his magic instead being directed by his own thoughts rather than the blade.

He infused the mana again but he did not allow the shape to grow wider than a sheet of paper and with his concentration just like when constructing a spell he added layer after layer of shards to the mana construct until it resembled the original shape of the short sword.

Now with his blade prepared he slashed it through the air to test it... and left a scar in the air that resembled a black void.

’What..... Just happened.’

He stopped as abruptly as he could before hovering back towards the rapidly vanishing scar in the air and when he swung the blade again it created another but this one was longer as he felt that same strange twitch of energy in his body he did not recognize immediately.

It was like his void mana was doing something through muscle memory his body shouldn’t have.

He created one more slash but this time he had to rapidly fly back as the slash in the air bled with a purple ichor before a massive tendril lunged through the scar into the air between them.

The tendril tried to snap out at him in a whipping motion but the scar in the sky started to close around that intruder, which made the intruder leave.

’Oh I should not be doing that again what just happened...’
