“Alright chat. That’s another dub in the books!” I said, not sounding all too excited. Mainly because that was a pretty easy win, and also, I don’t think they’re here for that. “Anyway. What’s the beef this time, why am I at 3view right now.”

{beef? Where? Im hungry}

{have you heard about Kara?}

{its special occasion you haven’t been streaming in a while}

“Missed me that much? Or are you guys just watching my stream in Kara’s place?” I said, more or less already know they have questions on their minds. Most are probably just people afk waiting for someone else to ask the questions for them.

{what gave you that idea?}

{naaaah}

{you’re imagining it}

{so you know anything about what Kara posted?}

“Yep. Start getting questions… Whatever, I’m in a good mood. I guess I’ll relay some info. No full story, of course. I don’t exactly know everything. Take it with a grain of salt.” I said, just so they won’t take all of it at face value, just in case I made a slip of the tongue. Always need to remember that ‘Jass’ isn’t exactly a guy who should know that much. “...What specifics do you guys even wanna know anyway? What is it about Karra’s post that you guys do not know about?”

{what actually happen?}

{how did the fight actually go?}

{did a fight actually happen}

{who was the guy}

“I think you guys already know this, but her post implies that the fight ultimately ended in a stalemate. That’s what I’ve heard as well, so if anyone has any doubt, that’s what I’ve also heard.” I would say Karra sustained more damage than that big guy, but he wasn’t exactly in good condition either. One good hit from either would’ve definitively declared a winner, but both were out of juice by that point.

{where was she gone afterward? Where were the two?}

“Where were they afterward? I’m not really sure either.” There shouldn’t be any way for me to know what’s going on, at least with this persona. Yet I should give them some sort of direction… “...Now considering that it ended in a draw with neither of them being at the scene of the crime, it’s pretty clear they ran off somewhere to recuperate.”

{But where tho}

{u know how the fight goes?}

“I can’t exactly say I know the details. From what I can see and glean from the event itself… Wait. Why are you guys asking me? Just some random joe who’s a schoolmate of a streamer?” I know they don’t have a lot of channels to find information, but I want to be sure it wasn’t for reasons that could have exposed me.

{ur the inly guy lol}

{who else am i gonna ask?}

“...Yeah okay. Just don’t expect me to be accurate with my guesses.” I said to not give them much hope. I’m mainly doing these streams for fun, but now this is getting a bit annoying.

…I wonder if I should create an alt account…

{so you gonna answer?}

“Ah, right. So from what I can tell at least… Actually…” Hmm… How should I word it… “If I were to be a betting man, I think Karra is the one who flung most of the spells in that fight. If yesterday’s incident means anything, it seems like this perp just likes to fight with brute strength alone. Those smokes and explosions are probably from her.”

{what a scary woman}

{did that guy tanked all that?}

{wasn’t the explosion quite loud? Those should be pretty strong}

“The fact that she even cast those probably means the guy is quite strong. If my guessing is right, then he might be someone who was drastically changed by the Mythical Eclipse. Maybe he’s one of those people to be blessed with an incredible amount of power that easily messes with their mind.” It’s like when people suddenly gain an insane amount of anything, they start to turn irrational. Now with something that can cause an insane amount of destruction like mana? It became a real concern.

{great power = insanity kinda deal?}

{we got a real berserker on here?}

{is that how that works?}

“Now some of you might think it’s a far-fetched idea, but I think the fact that more violent actions happen around the world since the change should support that theory.” Of course, the actual reason I’m even aware of such a prospect is that I’m very susceptible to being part of that label.

Walsuna doesn’t train me out of kindness alone. Not being able to manage all these powers I have will just lead to everything around me being in ruin. “You all should at least explore all the abilities you have and how that might affect you, it might become a problem sooner or later. You should take control of it.”

In fact, it already felt like even though I am in control of my strength right now, something about me seems to have changed regardless.

The fact that I barely felt anything despite heavy damage to my body is one thing, but I am already starting to feel some disconnect with other humans setting in. Had to wonder if my lack of reactions from the sight of murders is related to that, or the other weird quirks that are setting in.

But I do think my tendency to start spouting dramatics is just due to feeling less threatened by everything, so I feel like monologuing more than usual. Who’s gonna stop me from being a drama queen if I can put them in the dirt? Walsuna and Rico? Most likely, but they don’t butt in too often for that to be a prospect to worry about.

…Wasn’t I in the middle of something? Oh right.

“Sorry guys. Starting to get a bit sleepy.” I quickly said as I realized I’m in the middle of a Q&A. “Anyway. I think people should start to experiment more with their changes to make sure this kind of thing doesn’t happen.”

{how did you know that?}

{a bit scary to think about}

{so this wasn’t premeditated?}

“I could see it not being premeditated at first, when he beat up the three classmates of mine, but I think today’s incident was on purpose. I mean Kara wasn’t exactly shy about wanting to beat his ass up, so he might actually be provoked by it.” That’s my opinion, anyway. I don’t have the full picture either. Now why he would instinctively go after the three of them is unknown, could be some sort of bloodlust, those three are probably the strongest people in the park, or perhaps it’s due to more personal reasons I don’t know about.

At the very least, it doesn’t look like he’s someone any of us recognized.

{she was asking for it huh}

{lol}

{doesnt help shes asking for dox basically}

“I wouldn’t say she’s going that far, or that she’s not justified.” I think that part could be severely misconstrued. “Three of her friends were hospitalized with injuries that could last a lifetime, broken bones and all that, I think it’s fair that she’s pissed.”

{that bad?}

{yikes}

Of course, I did sneak into the hospital at night to check on their condition. Qyunda recovered at a much faster rate, so she doesn’t need any help, but Malk and Jeff definitely do, which is why I casted a healing spell to fix some of the more life-threatening injuries.

Can’t exactly do more than that without possibly giving a clue away. If I were to provide aid to only Karra, that wouldn’t give much away about my identity, but if it extends to other classmates, then there’s a very obvious line of logic to follow.

“Their conditions have been getting better, but I doubt she’s satisfied until she beat his ass into the dirt.” I said just so they wouldn’t get too concerned and start dropping rumors of people dying or something.

Karra is definitely not done with this guy, which is concerning, but it’s not like I could preemptively take care of him. I lack the information needed to track him down.

Also, would she be pissed if I killsteal? There’s much to think about.

{So the beef continue?}

{would be nice to see what happens}

“You guys really want to see more fights, don’t ya…” I remarked, somewhat exasperated.

Regardless of if I should or shouldn’t intervene, at this point and time this conflict has come to a sudden halt. Who knows when it’ll resume, but for now, it’s a time for respite and reflection for both sides.

“You sure you should be walking about at this time?” I asked, a bit bewildered.

“I’m fine. Those at the hospital say I’ve recovered enough.” Qyunda said with disinterest. Alright, if she says so. “Can’t exactly say the same with Malk and Jeff…”

“Those two don’t exactly have any perks like you do, unfortunately.” I remarked. It’s rather unfortunate that they don’t have anything going for them, being unchanged humans and all. Not that most of the changelings have anything too notable either, but with humans it’s a guarantee you’re not getting anything.

“Yeah…” She bitterly replied. Just a case of someone being more fortunate than the others. There’s no changing that, so she might as well accept it.

“Don’t make a scowl now, girlie.” I said just to keep her distracted from that thought. “So what are you gonna do about it? Gonna go for revenge, or…”

“Karra or someone else is gonna get his ass before then, I bet.” She answered, opting to not do anything about the guy. She’s not wrong about that, there’s at least Karra and the police who want his ass. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if some crooks want a guy like that to be part of their gang.

“True. I bet that guy made a lot of enemies just from the two fights.” I commented. I doubt that guy wants to show his face around if he could help it… “What do you think about Jass’ comment on his stream?”

“Which part?” She asked, sounding rather confused.

“The part about how the changes can cause some problems later on? From the looks of it the change and the power that came with it will have an effect on your personality and self-control.” That is a pretty interesting prospect to think about. Of course, I don’t even know how he came across that kind of information, if it’s even true.

“Not something I find worrying, honestly. At the very least, I have you guys to tell me what’s wrong.” She doesn’t seem that bothered by it. I guess this is the sort of thing that’s more troublesome if you have no one to look out for you.

“Fair enough.” I said, not bringing it up further. Have to wonder where he got that information from, but he will probably just run if we pressure him too much, and I’m not even sure if he has much else to impart.

“Say, I’ve heard about it in the group chat, but is it true that the skill gap is that important?” She suddenly asked. Is she getting interested now that she sees how important it is?

“Sure is. Regardless of how big your fuel tank is, if you can’t use it then it doesn’t really matter.” I explained with a different explanation than yesterday’s. It was kinda wordy, looking back. “There’s a reason why Karra did much better than the three of you combined.”

“...Don’t you think taking this whole thing seriously feels kinda stupid?” She suddenly asked.

“Not really. I think you’re only seeing it that way because it wasn’t in the realm of possibilities before this.” I’m not gonna hold it against her for finding people talking about this topic with any sense of weight to be ridiculous. “I think a lot of people still have a hard time comprehending the whole idea of magic and superpowers, so it’s not like you’re unique in that regard.”

“...It’s really annoying when you of all people say something reasonable, you know that?” She said with an annoyed expression.

“Heh, is that right?” I said with a smirk as I took a few steps back. “There’s a difference between a jester and a clown, you know?”

“Class jester isn’t a thing, you know.” She remarked.

“I’ll make it a thing one day.” I jokingly said with a dismissive wave. “Anyway. Guess you’ll make a beeline back home?”

“That’s the plan. What else am I supposed to do?” She answered.

“Was wondering if you might want to learn a thing or two from me. I’m probably the second strongest out of everyone in our classroom, I know how to do all those tricks Karra pulled off.” I offered to help her with it. Initially I want to look through that school a bit more, but I can do that another day.

“Do you now?” She muttered with some skepticism. “...I’ll pass. I think the last thing my parents want is me pushing myself the moment I get out of school. Also, when were you ever the teacher type?”

“Just right now, in fact.” I said with a small smirk on me. “But if you insist, then get the hell out of my face already.”

“Sure, I’ll do just that. See you around.” She said before walking off.

…Well then. So much for a hospital visit when I didn’t even set a foot inside the building. Guess I’ll just go back to the school and explore it some more, using the training facilities, all that nonsense.
