Beyond M-Eclipse: Easy Mode LIVE

———Karra———

…Okay. So nothing is flaring off, so it looks like the perms are in effect. That’s good to see.

“Now where I am supposed to go…” I can’t help but say my thoughts out loud. It is a massive area we’re working with. Multiple… relatively smaller buildings, and of course the main building itself.

Actually. I wonder what the inside of the canteen building looks like. It’s going to have multiple floors to accommodate a lot of people, that much is certain, but I wonder how the actual interior will look, and how to navigate.

“Mhm?” While I was wondering how to proceed, I saw a black feather dropping down from on high. It seems like she is also here.

Anyway, time for me to make a move too. Can’t just stand around doing nothing.

*Swing* *Evade*

He dodged another one!

*Punch*

“Oof!” And then countered it by punching me right in the gut! “Oow…”

“Ah! Sorry, was that too much?” Malk asked as he gave me a hand.

“A bit…” I groaned out loud.

“Then let’s take a break. We’ve been going at it for a while now.” He announced. Kinda hope it’d end with a bit more dignity, but the loser shouldn’t argue.

“You know, it feels like back before this we can only keep this up for like… half the time?” I remarked as we went to the nearby bench.

“Who really knows. When did we ever learn to count?” Malk said with disinterest. I guess that’s fair.

“Fair enough…” I said as I rubbed the area he punched quite strongly.

“By the way, how did the dungeon dive yesterday go?” He suddenly asked. Right, I guess I didn’t talk about that yet.

“It went pretty well, actually. Those guys were actually quite tough.” I answered. Pretty sure we finished up the fifth floor in about the same time as the first group did. “I was a bit worried, admittedly. In total there’s fewer people who already know how a dungeon goes.”

*Rattle*

“Huh?” When is there a rattlesnake… Oh, wait.

“Qyunda, do you really have to scare us like that?” Malk quickly responded to the sound, looking in the direction it came from.

“You two should get used to it.” She said as she walked over, her long snake tail swaying around rather gracefully. It’s still jarring, usually when talking about snake-hybrid in fictions, aren’t at least half of their body snake-like? The only thing that happened with her is that she grew a long brown snake-like tail. Same with that girl who has snake hair, but at least those were common in stories. “So what are you guys doing? Seems like you’re training for something.”

“It’s more like testing, in my opinion.” Malk is the one to answer. “Just making sure I’m not getting rusty, since we might need to go dungeon diving in the future and all that.”

“...I’m still not sure how those places are that valuable enough to dig through. I can only see it being a brief bubble at best.” She expressed her skepticism.

“Even a brief bubble can be enough to set for retirement if you play your cards right, you know?” Malk responded. “Also, I can see people becoming more prone to fight with magic in the mix, so it’s for our safety too. This is simply a case of future-proofing.”

“Right…” She still seems rather skeptical. “I guess I shouldn’t argue, I’ll probably do the same anyway, if because I’d rather not lose my current physique.”

“I think exercising is always a good thing, but now we have more reasons to do it.” I chimed in. There’s really no need to be skeptical, it’s just a more intensive version of something we already do. “By the way, what are you doing here? You don’t really come to public places often.”

“You two were causing a scene when I walked by, of course I’m going to walk over.” She pointed out… Hold on.

“Ah. I guess other people did take notice…” Malk sheepishly said as we looked at other people in the park glancing at us. I thought they would’ve ignored us! We made sure to fight somewhere empty in the park.

“Thankfully it doesn’t look like anyone calls the cops on you two.” She somewhat jokingly said. “Anyway, is it just you two?”

“Yeah, just something for the two of us.” Malk answered. “We don’t really know what the others are doing right now.”

“I would’ve imagined that being the case, the group chat has slowed down quite a bit.” She remarked. “Aside from talking about the helicopter incident for a bit, we haven’t really talked much.”

“Have to wonder what everyone is doing…” Malk mumbled to himself. “You two should know what your group is doing, right?”

“It seems like they are still deep in their hobbies as always.” Qyunda replied, not seeing them possibly getting some big ambition to work towards. That’s also my view on them, with how disinterested they are with some of the more fantastical changes.

“It’s a bit disappointing that people haven’t been changing their routine.” I remarked. Honestly I was expecting a lot of things to change quickly and make it all exciting and new. Things have been happening, of course, but it’s all just kinda whatever. “Like the world was flipped upside down and nothing really happened? Does that sense to you guys?”

“I think you’re only seeing it that way because stuff hasn’t really been happening to you.” Qyunda argued. “I don’t see you complaining if you were in Karra’s shoes, for example.”

“Right. Karra.” Suddenly Malk seems to have realized something. “She has been strangely radio silent. Think something happened?”

“How should I know? I did see her on the streets a few hours back, probably getting groceries or something.” Qyunda dismissively said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s cooking up a stream idea, but I’m not really a frequent watcher.”

“Jass is the one who watched her consistently, I think. Maybe he’ll have some ideas.” I threw the info out there.

“Right, that guy. He’s quite a geek, right?” Qyunda suddenly asked.

“Yeah? Why?” I answered, confused as to where this is going. He loves to read and watch all kinds of fiction and get a few hyperfixation, but right now it seems like he’s dropping that to focus on learning magic.

“I was wondering what was going inside his head with all of this happening.” She said before starting to point towards her chest and tail. What in the world is she doing?

“...I don’t get it.” I flat out admitted.

“Probably because it’s kinda like a superhero origin story? I don’t really know either.” Malk chimed in, a tiny bit less uncertain than I do.

“He and I had talked about a genre of stories involving… ‘drastic’ transformation in the past, so I was wondering if he was geeking out about it.” She elaborated. I don’t think a tail or a pair of horns is that big of a change, to be honest.

“Drastic… Oh. That.” Meanwhile Malk seemed to pick up on the meaning faster than I did. “That’s still crazy convenient for you, I must say.”

“There won’t be any complaining on that end, that’s for sure.” She said with a smile.

“Still doesn’t help out with your drab sense of fashion, though.” Malk suddenly takes a jab at her. “Rocking a shirt and weird pants of yours.”

“Like yours is any better!” She clapped back. Both of them do have pretty simplistic clothes, just a shirt and pants. The only real difference between them is the color and that Qyunda’s pants are quite baggy.

“I’d say I am at least good at picking colors, unlike you who choose to go with brown and white, you look extra plain even with that pretty face of yours.” He argued. His darker clothes do contrast with his hair and eye color which is quite bright, which he thinks made it look a bit better. Meanwhile Qyunda’s brown short sleeve shirt blends in with her hair and tail. It does make her look extra plain, I can agree with that.

“Why you-!” Qyunda doesn’t take kindly to that statement. Despite the drastic change, their dynamic remained the same it seems… Wait. Drastic?

…Oh!

“TG story, I think that’s what it’s called?” Is that the kind of story she was alluding to?

“...You only realized this now?” She exasperatedly called out.

“Gimme a break.” I said in protest. I know I’m not the best at picking up things between the lines. “Anyway, I never knew Jass was interested in those.”

“It came up by coincidence, but we did talk more in-depth about it.” Qyunda elaborated. “I think if he did get affected by it, maybe his sex would’ve changed.”

“You think so? But isn’t the whole process random?” Malk said, voicing his confusion.

“I know it’s my experience talking, but it doesn’t feel random, not for me at least.” She seems pretty confident on that front. “But it’s probably best to ask him for opinions, if any of you are even interested in that.”

I honestly don’t.

“Couldn’t relate. It does feel like there is a bit of a gap between those who have changed and those who are not.” Malk pointed out. “Hopefully this… Who am I kidding, it’s going to be a problem, isn’t it?”

“It would be more surprising if nothing happened. Inconceivable, even.” Qyunda shared the same opinion. Seems like too heavy of a topic to throw around, methinks.

“Anyway!” I interrupted the conversation since it’s not something I want to hear or talk about. “I think-

“RRAAAAHHH!!!” What? The hell is happening now?

———Karra———

“Test… We’re live!” It’s a bit late, but with the plan changing, this should be expected.

{Finally!}

{TF have you been?}

{what that post mean}

“Alright, chat. I’m gonna be honest, I was gonna talk about something else today, but with the recent incident I’ll push that back to a later stream.” I prefaced, just to make them theorized and get crazy on what that might’ve been.

{you mean the secret scoop?}

{what could’ve beem}

There we go, got that thinking cap on.

Despite the change of plan. It’s actually quite good. I could use more time to look through the campus at a later date. Sorta announces a stream prematurely, so this will help remedy that… Though I don’t really like the reason as to why…

“Now this is going to be a callout...” I announced right away.

{Whoa!}

{beefing whtuh who?}

{drama?}

“You see, chat. Just a few hours ago. Classmates of mine got their shit beat in by some guy they don’t even know. There were a few people who captured the event. Lemme just…” I pulled up a few pictures on stream to show them what I meant. It’s kind of a blur, but this is clearly a giant brute trying to punch down on those who look weaker than they are.

{So we’re calling for vengeance?}

{Were there no cops?}

{revenge!}

“Now the cops were called, but the moment they came up this brute just up and left. Jumping like… Multiple feets into the air and disappeared, getting on a roof somewhere.” I recounted the event that was reported. “Seems like this guy is a bit too much for the authorities to handle, so this is where we’re going. Chat, I want to look at who the hell this guy is.”

{Does no one know?}

{is he not identified?}

“I don’t really know what the method was, but it seems like no one recognized this guy. Probably doesn’t help that he moves around so fast that there isn’t a good picture taken of this guy.” I clarified the situation. The best way to describe it is a large red blur. “This is a callout stream to find out who the fuck this guy is. That’s one thing I wanna know.”

{tf u gonna do?}

{is this calling for dox?}

{vengeance is really on your mind lol}

{“u hurt my friends? *doxxed your ass*”}

“Now I don’t know if this guy is watching or not, but one more thing.” Since I basically make myself a target by saying this, I might as well double down. “If you think you can just go around bulldozing everything to get rid of your problem. You mess with the wrong woman.”

{Oooh.}

{fight?}

{gonna punch the guy out?}

Usually I don’t get involved with other people’s problems, but this shit is pissing me off. You can’t just go around attacking my friends like that! Or anyone in my neighborhood, for that matter.

My mom is already worried sick hearing the news, so I really wanna curb this problem myself, just to get it done and over with.

Is it risky? Probably. Definitely. At this point, I’m not going to back down, I need someone to be my punching bag! And if I get my way, he’s going to be one!
