Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 61: Chapter 19: Dragon Descendant

Time continues to flow, the atmosphere in the Gata Empire has recently started to become tense, the Emperor of the Imperial’s vigorous ambition to conquer rapidly swelled under the push of those hidden powerful forces.

Under the near self-detrimental resource supply from the Dragon Group Territory, the empire’s military gradually became enriched.

And the resources from the Land of Golden, exchanged with the neutral faction nobility, provided the empire with ample food reserves.

With sufficient exchange of interests, the nobility no longer hesitated to exchange resources.

However, before the Gata Empire could take action, the neighboring human duchy Marino quietly launched an attack on the empire’s southernmost province, successfully breaking through the province’s defenses.

They not only looted food and weapon resources rampantly but also drove many of the population to Marino Duchy’s territory.

Emperor Charal Cesar of the empire flew into a rage and dispatched two legions to support the already corrupted Southern Province frontline.

But somehow, the information leaked out, and both legions were ambushed by Marino Duchy’s army, resulting in complete annihilation.

Even the Legion Commander, who had stepped into the Holy Sanctuary, was publicly slain by Marino Duchy’s Holy Sanctuary Warrior Commander.

For a moment, the Gata Empire was in trouble, the Emperor of the Imperial had the rationale and strength to start a war, but the situation did not proceed smoothly as he expected.

Karon now felt a surge of drowsiness, his sleep cycle was approaching, but he resisted his sleepiness and looked at the tall Wolfman who had just returned from the Gladiatorial Arena.

The Wolfman went with the Vampire Species, but only he returned.

Luck no longer favored the Vampire Species and Wolfman, their fight was a life and death duel.

Scars on the Wolfman’s body were bone-deep, with wounds exposing flesh and even internal organs from the abdomen; this fight must have been fierce.

But the Wolfman who survived did not show any sign of happiness on his face. He silently dragged his deeply scarred body into the chamber.

”Hey, how was the taste of Vampire Species flesh, weren’t you always yelling about wanting to eat them?”

The Centaur Warrior, long aware of his destined fate, teased the Wolfman, yet there was no smile on his face.

”Not tasty at all,” the Wolfman replied hoarsely, ”but I swallowed his heart core, now his fate will always be linked with mine.”

”Tsk,” the Centaur fell silent. The heart core of Vampire Species is the most vital in their bloodline.

Perhaps returning this heart core to the blood pool of the Vampire Species’ sanctuary for a few hundred years might revive the vampire, but now that possibility is gone.

”Guard me,” Red Dragon’s crimson eyes were filled with a misty drowsiness, he spoke in a deep voice, ”I’m about to go to sleep, when someone calls me awake, we will reclaim our destiny.”

Hidden in the darkness, the silver-haired Wolfman’s emerald green eyes lit up, he reappeared from the shadows, knelt in his chamber, bowed to the Red Dragon, ”I will guard you with my life, Lord Karon!”

The Centaur Warrior exhaled, his strong body also knelt down, ”I, Chiron, son of the legitimate Centaur Tribe, will guard you with my life!”

Red Dragon nodded, closed his eyes, and soon his breathing became steady; he began to sleep.

And those Juvenile Dragons also began entering sleep around this time. Their childhood had lasted long enough; it was time to step into adolescence.

Perhaps the gladiatorial arena lacked experience in raising Giant Dragons; by the time they realized it, the dragons were already in their sleep cycle.

They dared not disturb the sleeping Giant Dragons, as Dragons undergo irritation during their bloodline growth; they didn’t want to be torn apart by Dragons.

By the time they reported upwards, it became clear the empire’s high officials were too busy with the crisis to manage these matters; thus, the arena’s administrators simply allowed these Juvenile Dragons to sleep silently underground.

The subterranean cell where the Giant Dragons slept began to be deliberately ignored by the arena attendants; they hardly dared to enter that basement cell, and even those gladiators of various races imprisoned there started to be neglected.

Slowly, time passed, changes occurred in the calm underground cell.

Every Dragon tends to create a nest effect where they frequently stay, although these Juvenile Dragons have a small nest effect.

But due to the overly narrow space and dense distribution of these Juvenile Dragons, gradually, the nest effect began spreading from Karon’s cell, the strongest dragon’s.

Gradually coming into contact with the influence of other Juvenile Dragons, suddenly some mysterious connection developed between them; this effect under the mysterious connection produced an unknown resonance.

Under the dominant nest effect of the Red Dragon, an inexplicable aura began spreading throughout the entire underground cell.

And the Juvenile Dragons undergoing bloodline growth strengthened this resonance’s nest effect power, gradually impacting all different races of gladiators within this basement.

Their personalities, once molded by tedious and indifferent life, gradually began to shift, becoming irritable and aggressive, they craved the flesh of their originally peaceful companions.

As the arena attendants continued neglecting this area, the starving warriors of various races abruptly erupted into battle one day, every cell cloaked in slaughter and bloodshed.
