Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

The school building is five stories in total, not too tall, and the little boy just happened to land on the bushes, which provided enough cushioning.

More importantly, the lives in the replica plane are tougher. When sent to the school’s medical room, it was found that the boy only had some minor scrapes and didn’t even have any fractures.

His body wasn’t seriously injured, and his mental status was fine.

When Wu Chang visited, the boy could still silly smile at Erin, leaving no psychological shadow.

When the teachers asked what happened, the boy just said he couldn’t remember, as if he had accidentally lost his footing and fallen off the rooftop.

Wu Chang’s inspiration was suppressed, unable to completely discern the truth of the boy’s answer, but the boy’s bewildered gaze was very pure, not resembling a lie.

Since the person involved claimed that nothing happened and no one was greatly harmed because of it, the matter was considered settled.

The chaos came quickly, and it went away just as fast.

In less than half an hour, Nokes Primary School returned to calm.

The chaos subsided, but the aftermath remained.

Wu Chang was not the only one who saw Amber leaning over from the rooftop to look down after the boy fell off.

Coupled with Amber’s not so good reputation, the rumors of ”Amber bullying others again” spread during lunch break.

What’s more, some had even given Amber the nickname ”murderer.”

In their mouths, bullying and harming classmates was not the first time Amber had done it; Wu Chang only needed to eavesdrop for a while to hear more than five cases.

Including incidents like pushing a classmate into a toilet sink almost to the point of suffocation, locking a classmate in the storage room for one-on-one bullying, tying a classmate to a tree on the back hill of the school...

Such excessive acts like today, directly pushing someone off the rooftop with intent to murder, was the first.

Amber caused many incidents, but each time afterward, the victim remained silent, they simply claimed to not remember what happened, even the police couldn’t find anything, and the events always ended without conclusion.

Yet near every incident, someone saw Amber had been nearby; when questioned face-to-face, she never defended herself but merely stared intimidatingly at the person asking.

Eventually, everyone concluded that Amber not only bullied classmates but also coerced them into silence.

Having gathered basic intelligence, Wu Chang turned around, left the dining hall, and headed to the rooftop.

Opening the door, in a corner of the rooftop, he saw Amber alone in a corner eating bread.

Amber looked at him, her swallowing noticeably paused for a moment, her gaze dodging to one side.

Wu Chang sat next to Amber and was the first to speak:

”Miss Amber, I need an explanation.”

Amber chewed her bread, her gaze undescribably complicated, containing both grievance and fear.

Gulp.

She swallowed the food in her mouth, then said:

”There’s nothing to explain, it was me.”

Wu Chang raised an eyebrow, ”The reason?”

Amber was somewhat reluctant but replied half-heartedly: ”He wanted to kill me.”

Kill you?

Wu Chang pursed his lips, saying nothing.

The boy who fell was named Dean; he had been to the medical room and knew his condition.

The boy was late to develop; Dean was a year younger than Amber, with a height of only 1.3 meters compared to Amber’s 1.5 meters, shorter by an entire head.

It’s hard to imagine the little kid daring to attack Amber, let alone achieve the degree of killing.

But Wu Chang’s inspiration told him Amber wasn’t lying.

Wu Chang asked, ”Do you have a feud?”

As far as he knew, Dean and Amber weren’t in the same class and rarely interacted.

Wu Chang continued asking, ”Did he ask you to come to the rooftop?”

Amber’s voice grew smaller, ”No, I came on my own.”

Wu Chang further asked, ”How did he attack you, how do you know he wanted to kill you?”

Amber’s voice was already faintly audible, ”I don’t know, just a feeling.”

The two had no grievance, nor was there an agreed-upon time; they happened to meet on the rooftop by coincidence. Dean caused no harm to Amber, and there was no evidence sufficient to threaten Amber’s life, yet Amber just felt he wanted to kill her and threw Dean off the rooftop.

Anyone else would have thought either Amber was lying, exaggerating to the point she couldn’t manage the lie, or she had mental issues, a persecution complex.

Even Amber herself felt untenable; she seemed to have exhausted all her strength, turned her face to the side, and demonstrated a refusal to communicate.

But Wu Chang was different; although he detected no anomaly on Dean or the rooftop, he still believed something was amiss.

Firstly, it was a feeling; he could feel Amber was not lying, especially when stating Dean wanted to kill her, Amber was sending him an SOS.

Secondly, Amber had hidden side quest tasks; having hidden side tasks indicated that Amber’s identity or experiences must be extraordinary, encountering some weird things wasn’t far-fetched.

Wu Chang was silent for a moment, then spoke: ”Miss Amber, you’ve said a lot, but that’s not the explanation I’m looking for.”

Amber had already planned to do as before, not speaking another word to Wu Chang, but hearing this sentence, she couldn’t help but turn her head.

If not this explanation, then what?

Wu Chang put on a radiant smile, showing a set of white teeth, his trademark expression, a mouthful of genuine teeth.

Bear in mind, as someone who gradually ascended from child fighting matches to the highest stage, a mouthful of undamaged genuine teeth and intact, well-formed ears are symbols of strength.

”Do you remember what I told you yesterday?”

Amber showed a look of contemplation, recalling Wu Chang’s words.

Wu Chang prompted: ”Sean’s family rule, no skipping classes. If I’m not mistaken, when you and Dean clashed, it was during class time, right?”
