Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

In order to more easily join White Kingpin, Wu Chang used the Sea Giant’s ability to increase his size, transforming into a muscular giant over two meters tall. To match the demeanor of a gang member, he also made slight adjustments to his face, becoming somewhat more amiable.

Two thugs gaped, not caring that their cigarettes were dangling at their crotches, as they watched the brute who could probably eat three kids for breakfast sweep them with a murderous gaze. They instinctively clutched each other’s hands and began to tremble.

”Do you need anything?” asked one of the thugs sporting a punk hairstyle.

Wu Chang spoke in a deep, hard-boiled voice: ”Just got out, short on cash, looking for a job. Are you guys still taking people?”

The two quickly nodded, ”We are, of course we are!”

Hearing that Wu Chang intended to join rather than cause trouble, the two immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

They looked at Wu Chang’s broad body that could fit both of them inside it and fists as large as sandbags, and the punk-haired one asked:

”Hey big guy, can you fight?”

Wu Chang said nothing, swung a knife-hand chop towards the speaker, and as it grazed over the person’s scalp, a large clump of golden hair fell before him by the time he withdrew his hand.

The punk-haired thug quickly rushed to the rearview mirror, discovering a large patch of shaved-off hair above his forehead. With this hairstyle, he’d pass off as a noble at the very least.

”F**K!”

Wu Chang: ”Huh?”

The punk-haired thug changed his tune: ”Your technique is incredible. I was just thinking of shaving my head, you saved me a lot of time.”

Wu Chang: ”You’re welcome.”

The punk-haired thug almost gritted his teeth to dust, using the excuse of hair falling into his eyes, wiped away the tear at the corner of his eye with the back of his hand, then said:

”Big guy, our boss likes fighters, and coincidentally, there’s a bare-knuckle fight today, and the boss will be there.”

”Aren’t you short on cash? If you can win two rounds, you can earn at least 5000. Interested?”

Wu Chang raised an eyebrow and immediately said, ”Let’s go!”

The two thugs sat in the driver’s and passenger’s seats, while Wu Chang squeezed himself into the back, causing the car to noticeably sink as soon as he got in, almost collapsing the already dilapidated old car.

The punk-haired thug tried twice to start the engine, finally managing to get it running, and slowly drove towards the dock with Wu Chang.

Halfway there, passing an intersection, Wu Chang saw a player speeding away on a motorcycle, with seven or eight police cars in hot pursuit.

The motorcyclist gave the middle finger to the pursuers, then changed direction, apparently planning to use the traffic as cover to evade the police chase.

However, the player didn’t notice the high count of police stars above his head. Accompanied by the roar of rotors, an armed helicopter swooped down, its guns blazing at the player.

In just two or three seconds, the player, who’d just mockingly flipped off the police cars, was riddled with bullets, and the stolen motorcycle exploded into flames.

The punk-haired thug driving the car swore at the idiot, then drove around the burning motorcycle, continuing on.

Passing the beehive, Wu Chang shook his head slightly.

In Siegfried City, never break the law unless absolutely necessary.

With the current player stats, it’s impossible to stand against the city’s brute force. Robbing in broad daylight is just asking for trouble.

Even if the armed helicopter hadn’t taken care of him, with the subsequent wave of armed helicopters and ground SWAT encircling him, that guy wouldn’t have survived.

This is why he chose to target the White Kingpin mercenaries — as long as he wasn’t caught, it didn’t count as breaking the law.

The punk-haired thug drove for an hour, bringing Wu Chang to a warehouse by the dock with a large ’K’ painted on it.

The warehouse’s shutter was half-open, and outside sat three burly men in flower-patterned shirts, pumping iron to build muscle.

As soon as Wu Chang got out of the car, he immediately drew their attention.

One man asked, ”Here for the fight?”

Wu Chang looked at the punk-haired thug, who immediately explained on Wu Chang’s behalf: ”He wants to join the gang. I saw he could box, so I brought him to see the boss.”

The questioner surveyed Wu Chang and, following standard procedure, should have tested his mettle.

But seeing Wu Chang casually lift the barbell with his chest press weight and effortlessly perform a one-handed curl, he instantly lost the desire to test him.

He wasn’t chickening out; mainly, he had just stopped paying for his health insurance last month and wanted to save the boss some money.

He pulled up the shutter, waved his hand, ”Go on in.”

Wu Chang and the punk-haired thug squeezed through the warehouse, which covered at least several tens of thousands of square feet, half filled with the White Kingpin’s smuggled goods, and half used for gang activities.

Approaching the activity area, Wu Chang could clearly smell the sweat and blood in the air.

At the center of the activity area, eight cars formed a circle within which two strong shirtless men were fighting.

They wore no gloves, had no gum shields, and were not forbidden from hitting any part — it was a pure bare-knuckle fight.

The only rule was to stand to win and fall to lose.

This is Siegfried’s biggest underground fighting competition, KO Bare Knuckle Tournament.

When Siegfried City was just established, and White Kingpin had the most influence, the minority groups in Siegfried City were no longer enough for their appetite for chaos. To satiate their destructive urges, they started an internal Fighting Club.

Surprisingly, the Fighting Club was a huge success. Not only did more than ninety percent of the White Kingpin members participate, but it also became a citywide event in Siegfried once it opened to the public.

However, as White Kingpin went downhill later, the bare-knuckle matches also went underground.
