Be Gentle, My Master

Everyone was quite helpless, this year Baili Xia, a junior member, had just joined the competition.

She had not undergone much training, so it was inevitable that she would suffer some setbacks.

However, the laid-back Mu Ziying didn’t seem to notice Baili Xia’s awkwardness, and she proceeded to speak.

“How did you practice? You at least have to hit the target, you…”

She wanted to continue speaking, but suddenly felt a chilling gaze coming her way, causing her to involuntarily close her mouth.

She pouted, feeling a little aggrieved, but she didn’t dare to show it on her face.

This uncle was showing too much favoritism, she didn’t say anything bad about Xiaxia, so why was he looking at her like that?

If they had known, they would not have allowed Baili Xia to participate at all.

Last time they chose an extended relative who was at least able to score some points.

This time, would Baili Xia not be able to score any points at all?

Mu Ziqing seemed to catch on to something, she smiled and quickly tried to smooth things over for Mu Ziying.

“It’s alright, Ziying just wants you to perform well. Don’t worry, just do your best.”

Having said that, she looked at Mu Xiaojiu.

“Uncle, how should we arrange the archery competition this time?”

By “we”, she was naturally referring to the three women on their team.

The men’s team didn’t require any of her attention or worry.

Mu Xiaojiu frowned slightly, deep in thought.

Seeing Mu Xiaojiu’s rare furrowed brow, everyone else stopped talking to avoid distracting him.

This was indeed a difficult situation, their past performances were okay.

But this year, with the addition of Baili Xia who had hardly any training, their total score would be significantly affected.

Was there a way to improve her performance quickly?

In the end, Mu Xiaojiu finally relaxed his brow.

Just when others thought he had a strategy, he began to speak.

“You two, do your best.”

His words were directed at Mu Ziying and Mu Ziqing, even Uncle had no solutions.

He had seen her practice and although she had improved that evening, it would be impossible for her to surpass those who had been training for more than a decade given the very short time she had to practice.

It should be noted that the younger members of the Eight Big Families started their training from childhood.

So, honestly, he didn’t have much hope for Baili Xia to get good results.

The archery contest was simple, the closer to the bullseye, the higher the points achieved.

But it was also the most challenging and difficult to cheat.

Hearing Mu Xiaojiu’s words, everyone fell silent, unsure of what to say.

In the end, Sir Mu only had a word of encouragement, urging the younger members to strive harder and bring glory to their family.

After dinner, they each took their own archery equipment and set off together.

…

Half an hour later, the Mu family arrived at the competition venue.

The archery ground and other competition venues were all together, located on this mountain top.

However, the place was indeed vast and it took a considerable amount of time to get from one competition area to another.

By the time they arrived at the archery range, the members of the other Seven Big Families had mostly arrived already.

Seeing the arrival of the Mu family, some of the older people stood up to greet Sir Mu.

Afterwards, the elders took their seats and exchanged pleasantries.

The younger generation was not so courteous, they were always at odds with each other on regular days.

However, today, the leader of the younger group was Mu Xiaojiu, so no one dared to say anything.

After all, Mr.

Xiaojiu’s status was much higher than theirs, they wouldn’t dare to offend him.
