Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2035: Traitor Dragon Race

Regarding the origin of Yangos, Ye Zhongming had always harbored doubts.

Previously, in the Novice battlefield, he had seen three creatures very similar to Yangos. Later, upon inquiry, he learned their formal name was the Flying Lizard Race.

In appearance, they differed little from Yangos, but the biggest issue was that Yangos had a magic crystal; it was a mutated life form of the wheel category, while these Flying Lizard Race beings were native inhabitants of the universe.

In essence, they should be two different kinds of life.

Regarding this, Ye Zhongming couldnʼt find the connection between them for the time being.

The occasional memories that surfaced from Yangos indicated it had kin, but Ye Zhongming always felt the Flying Lizard Race shouldnʼt be Yangosʼs kin.

But just now, on this shopʼs promotional light screen, he saw a creature that looked almost identical to Yangos and, moreover, had a magic crystal on its forehead.

There was too little related information on the Star-Eye Clan side; he couldnʼt find out much. After going to the Library Palace, he didnʼt have time to investigate this matter.

Now, suddenly seeing a creature likely of the same kin as Yangos, how could he remain calm?

The others could only follow Ye Zhongming into this combat beast shop called ʼGubanʼ.
This shopʼs area wasnʼt very large, but it was decorated with great taste. Because the combat beasts sold here were all monitored via light screens, with no physical presence, there were naturally no unpleasant smells or noises. Blocks of monitor screens were seamlessly embedded within exquisite simulated landscapes, appearing clutter-free.

Seeing Ye Zhongming and the others enter, a Su Race woman came forward to receive them, smiling warmly and showing no disrespect because they were outsiders.

Since they were inside, Ye Zhongming wasnʼt in a hurry. Under this female attendantʼs introduction, he sat in a separate area, looking at the combat beast inventory and other information on the pulled-up light screen.

Super major races naturally had the grandeur and scale of super major races, as evident from the thousands of combat beast shops here.

Just on the inventory list, there were over thirty thousand types of combat beasts listed.

Ye Zhongming couldnʼt help but wonder: if one shop was like this, then within the entire Su Race, with ten commercial centers and countless shops, how large would the combat beast trade volume be? Did the Su Race value combat beasts this much?

”For any type of shop, those with a bit of strength basically have branches in every commercial center. Because Su City is too large, going to other districtsʼ commercial centers consumes too much time, so basically each commercial district has a complete range of categories. Chain stores are very popular here. In other districts, the ʼGubanʼ shops you see should all be from the same breeding farm.”

Jie Suʼs assistant explained to Ye Zhongming on the side. ”Also, the Su Race is, after all, the leading race of the faction, with the strongest power and most developed commerce. Other races attached to us also choose to come here to buy what they need. Combat beasts are not only auxiliary combat power but also consumables when various races cultivate newcomers, so this market is very large.”

Hearing this, Ye Zhongming understood. If the Su Race could really monopolize the combat beast trade of the entire faction, this would absolutely be a big business.

Casually estimating the profit, Ye Zhongming felt that even though he had already obtained twenty million Moonspan Gold from the Library Palace, he was still a pauper.

Ye Zhongming looked at the list of combat beast types and found everything from the cheapest, costing a few hundred Moonspan Gold, to the most expensive, costing several million Moonspan Gold.

He specifically looked at the most expensive one. Ye Zhongming didnʼt recognize it; its name was very ordinary: ʼArmor Devourerʼ. It usually feeds on various types of equipment, probably liking energy-containing materials. This type of combat beastʼs strength increased quickly, and its abilities were powerful. More importantly, during battle, it would attach to its master, not only giving the master super high defense but also freely using the various abilities it possessed. These abilities came from the equipment it ate.

Of course, the number of abilities wouldnʼt be too many; otherwise, it would be too overpowered.

The most expensive combat beast was an adult. Ye Zhongming glanced at it; although good, he wasnʼt interested. Adult combat beasts were too difficult to raise, and forming rapport was also too difficult.

However, this reminded Ye Zhongming. He flipped through the categories, called He over, and asked about several combat beasts: ”Look, which one do you like?”

Heʼs face reddened; this scene looked very much like that...

”And Sister Qizhen, too.”

Now it was Qizhenʼs turn to blush.

The combat beasts Ye Zhongming showed them were all defensive and auxiliary types. Such combat beasts were very important for the Changxu Water Race. It wasnʼt that they didnʼt like them; they just didnʼt have the money to buy them before.

”Choose. If you become stronger, I also become stronger.”

Hearing this, the two women no longer declined and began thoughtfully selecting combat beasts.

Ye Zhongming flipped to the combat beast image, almost identical to Yangos, and asked the female attendant, ”What is this?”

The female attendant glanced at it and, surprisingly, hesitated before answering, ”They are the ʼTraitor Dragon Raceʼ.”

Ye Zhongming didnʼt understand and asked the female attendant to explain. The latter thought for a moment before saying, ”Iʼm not very clear about the specific information. I just know their ancestors were members of the Flying Lizard Race who split off. Later, I donʼt know what changes occurred or what happened, but they started possessing magic crystals.”

”The cosmic races do not recognize them. The Flying Lizard Race especially regards them as traitors and usually kills them on sight.”

Ye Zhongming didnʼt understand this and asked, ”If thatʼs the case, why do you still sell them as combat beasts here? Wouldnʼt the Flying Lizard Race chase buyers even after buying them?”

”That wonʼt happen.” The female attendant quickly replied. ”If combat beasts are sold through normal channels, the Flying Lizard Race is notified. Some are even placed here for sale by them. So the situation you mentioned wonʼt occur. Itʼs just...”

Ye Zhongming looked at this female attendant questioningly.

”Itʼs just that although the Traitor Dragon Race has powerful combat strength, especially their elemental attributes, which are extremely potent, their temperaments are often unyielding and unruly. They donʼt have much goodwill towards the cosmic races. Even if raised from a young age, incidents of backlash often occur. There have even been cases where they broke free and caused havoc. So, choosing them as combat beasts requires extreme caution. Once problems arise, we are also powerless.”

Ye Zhongming nodded. It seemed this was all he could ask from this female attendant.

Traitor Dragon Race? Not tolerated by the Flying Lizard Race? Where did they live? How many were there now?... Ye Zhongming had many questions in his mind.

After a moment, he looked at the price and asked the female attendant, ”Can you give a discount?”

The female attendant was taken aback, thinking this person really wanted to buy it? At this price, there were other better choices. Nonetheless, she said professionally, ”Iʼm sorry, the prices you see are final. Although the selling price is as high as six hundred thousand Moonspan Gold, it includes many supporting services, such as raising methods, training methods, and combat beast instructions, as well as thirty daysʼ worth of food and a complete set of raising equipment. Moreover, you will also obtain a series of premium qualifications, like priority purchasing rights at our shop in the future.”

Ye Zhongming nodded. ”Then Iʼll buy it.”
