Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2008: Bleeding

Ye Zhongmingʼs return made the atmosphere in the Bronze Camp tense.

This was unavoidable; after all, he had previously managed this place too strictly. Upon hearing the news of Ye Zhongmingʼs return, some were truly happy while others were worried.

The happy ones were the newly formed Assault Camp. They felt they had made great progress in less than a month. This referred not only to personal strength but, more importantly, psychologically; they had gained immense confidence.

They completed the task assigned by Ye Zhongming without being discovered. They cleared over twenty spies or assassins in Darkstrip City, preventing those people from continuing to focus on searching for the location of the Changxu Water Race, thus ensuring the safety of He and her clansmen.

This was the most important task Ye Zhongming had given them before he left.

Rewards and punishments were the concept Ye Zhongming had instilled in them. Since the task was handled so well, the Order Leader would naturally provide some rewards. This was what the Assault Camp warriors firmly believed.

Those who were worried were the other Bronze warriors. They did not know how the Order Leader would deal with them upon his return.

Shi Yong and Ou Chong looked at Ye Zhongmingʼs smiling face. The two Assault Camp leaders rubbed their hands, just waiting for praise.

”Well done.” These simple four words split their mouths into wide grins.

”However, have you neglected your recent studies?”
Ye Zhongming changed the subject, asking about their progress during this period.

Shi Yong immediately said, ”There has been progress. Those who improved quickly increased their Furelai by several hundred; the slower ones also gained several dozen points. On average, an increase of about one hundred Furelai is there.”

Increasing Furelai by this amount in less than a month was already quite good.

But Ye Zhongming frowned, which made Shi Yong and Ou Chongʼs hearts sink.

It seemed the boss was not satisfied.

The average Furelai of the entire Bronze Camp was close to four thousand. The Assault Camp was better, already over four thousand five hundred. But Ye Zhongming was clearly not satisfied.

This blade, with just this level, was certainly not impressive enough.

”Let me tell you something first. The clan will soon select one hundred people to study at the Library Palace. The Bronze Camp has fifty spots. However, I do not intend to give these 50 spots to our Assault Camp members. I plan to train you personally. So Iʼm telling you first, and you should convey it when you go back. Do not think I am favoring one over the other.”

Shi Yong and Ou Chong looked at each other. They had no opinion on this point because in their minds, they had no concept of going to the Library Palace. But they had already tasted the sweetness of studying under the Order Leader.

”Starting tonight, after the daytime training ends, the entire Assault Camp will come to my room. I will conduct separate training for you.”

”Also, bring me the recorders from this mission you executed while I was away.”

”Go notify all the Thousand-Person Leaders, Deputy Thousand-Person Leaders, and responsible persons for logistics, medical, etc., to go to the conference room for a meeting.”

After saying these things, Ye Zhongming looked at the two and said, ”From now on, you two will also attend such meetings.”

………………………………

Fifteen minutes later, over twenty people sat in the conference room. Everyone looked at Ye Zhongming, waiting for him to speak.

”Is this your performance from several exams over the past month?”

Ye Zhongming threw a piece of paper onto the table. His words seemed dissatisfied, but his expression did not show it.

”Well, the goals and methods you set are something we are all adapting to. Once we get used to it, the situation will improve a lot. Our ten Thousand-Person Leaders have been diligently supervising during this period; absolutely no laziness.”

The Tenth Thousand-Person Teamʼs leader answered cautiously, but Ye Zhongming sensed he was hinting for him to ask his confidant Jie Kui.

Jie Kui saw Ye Zhongming look over and nodded.

”Have the outstanding performers been recorded?” Ye Zhongming asked again.

”Recorded.”

This time, it was Zhong Hongke who answered. He handed another list to Ye Zhongming.

Ye Zhongming looked at it and grunted in acknowledgment. He was quite satisfied with this. The data on the paper was recorded in detail, meeting his requirements without missing anything, and it even included some additional data and information.

”The top fifty names on this list will be sent to the Library Palace along with another fifty from the clan for a thirty-day study period, possessing B-level reading permissions. The clan will cover all costs.”

This news surprised everyone; they did not expect Ye Zhongming to announce this first upon his return.

”Tell these fifty people to cherish this opportunity, because there will be many things for them to learn at the Library Palace. Their performance inside will also be recorded and included in their assessments.”

Ye Zhongming looked at these people as he spoke, ”In the future, going to the Library Palace for study will become normal for the clan. You can also apply to go; I will purchase A-level permissions for you. But one point must be made clear: once inside, you must definitely learn something; otherwise, do not think about going again in the future.”

”Also, previously I asked you to pick out those in your teams who are unsuitable for the Star-Eye Clanʼs skills, right? Those with good talent, suitable for sneak attacks and assassinations, were also picked out, right? And others with special characteristics? After returning, tell these people that starting tomorrow, they will be assigned to the established Assault Camp reserve team.”

Shi Yong and Ou Chong, sitting in the corner, immediately became the focus. This way, the Assault Campʼs numbers would increase significantly immediately; they were no longer just Hundred-Person Leaders.

”In ten days, a major exam will be held, with elimination of the lowest performers. The one hundred with the worst results will be expelled, no probation. Simultaneously, a recruitment order will be issued throughout the entire clan. The Bronze Camp will recruit 100 people with no condition restrictions. As long as they think they are capable, have special characteristics, high talent, etc., they can sign up. Selection will begin after the vacancies are created following the major exam.”

Before these Thousand-Person Leaders could voice their opinions, another message made those present restless.

”Although you do not need to take the exam, do not neglect your cultivation. If I feel you are unsuitable for your current positions, I will adjust you at any time.”

”Finally, for the Thousand-Person Leaders and Deputy Thousand-Person Leaders who rank in the top three in the major exam results, each will receive one Red Condensation level equipment. For the Hundred-Person Leaders and Deputy Hundred-Person Leaders below them, each will receive one Ke Steel Grade equipment. For ordinary soldiers, one basic level equipment.”

”For those who achieve first place in individual subjects in the exam, one Red Condensation level. Top three, Ke Steel Grade. Top one hundred, basic level equipment.”

”Rewards can be stacked.”

This time, the Thousand-Person Leaders really exploded. Those with quick minds immediately calculated that after the major exam, this Order Leader would have to take out at least over ten pieces of Red Condensation level equipment, hundreds of Ke Steel Grade pieces, and thousands of basic level pieces!

Leaving aside the rest, just the over ten Red Condensation level equipment meant hundreds of thousands of Moonspan Gold! For the Star-Eye Clan, this was probably a huge sum!

Before, they obeyed Ye Zhongmingʼs orders because they were intimidated by his killing Ka Lanka and his record-breaking Novice first-place status. Now, everyone felt they could not completely understand the person sitting in the superior position.

Ye Zhongming could understand these peopleʼs thoughts. The entire Star-Eye Clan, even the Clan Leaders, were poor, let alone them.

”I messed up the warehouse, so I should give everyone some explanation, right?” He looked at the logistics officer Wu Qian and said with a smile.
