Chapter 607: Chapter 505 Must Cause Trouble_1

Thank you to the alliance leader, Liu ChengJi.

Four hours later, an unprecedentedly eerie rumor began to spread within the faculty offices.

When the professors exchanged glances, they all seemed somewhat surprised and taken aback.

Many colleagues hadn’t realized that the young man, who had been smiling warmly in recent days, had such a side to him.

Nor had they expected him to abruptly show his claws at this critical moment, seemingly indifferent to the impact it might have on the faculty’s opinion of him or the upcoming selection for instructors.

In this matter, both the headmaster and the deputy headmaster maintained a strangely calm demeanor, neither praising nor criticizing, as if they hadn’t seen anything at all.

Even after the General Affairs Office reported complaints about the Sea Fishing Club at the regular meeting, the deputy headmaster still looked uninterested. He glanced at the report and then immediately looked away, only saying to follow the rules.

So, the rules would be followed.

Due to the intense conflict with colleagues and the improper duel not authorized by the General Affairs Office, Huai Shi received one reprimand, lost a week’s salary, and received an oral warning. Jacob also received one reprimand, lost a week’s salary, and was granted half a year’s leave from the school for recuperation.

He had no choice but to rest; he was almost in a vegetative state. Just finding a psychologist to rebuild his personality would take at least four or five months, not to mention the potential PTSD from the beheading that could follow.

To be cautious, he shouldn’t even think about returning to his post within a year.

A year later, just seeing Dongxia’s duck neck snacks might make him scream out loud.

This made the few other teachers who had pretended not to hear anything heave a sigh of relief in secret. They were lucky to have some integrity and not hastily get involved for the sake of currying favor, or else they would be the ones on extended leave.

Just thinking about it felt chilling.

Having your head chopped off repeatedly for half an hour is truly miserable and truly vicious.

Although no one knew whether the deputy headmaster would bring it up pointedly when reviewing instructor qualifications in the faculty office, it seemed to be handled lightly for now.

The approach was to make a big issue small, and a small issue nothing, and act as if nothing had happened.

After all, anyone with eyes could see the underlying reasons.

Huai Shi was just a young man, a bit fierce in his actions, but hadn’t he also shown restraint and left some leeway?

If they really wanted to punish him harshly, Huai Shi would just lose half a year’s salary and miss out on the instructor selection. But then, who knew how many students would require expulsion? It might even lead to a scandal.

Why bother then?

So, they let him be.

Through such an unspoken consensus, this Chapter of events passed and was considered closed.

Right after the meeting ended, Andrea intentionally stayed until the end, waiting for Anton.

”I thought you would be thunderously angry today,” the female professor asked with a half-smile, ”You really don’t mind that Huai Shi brought his old habits to the Ivory Tower?”

”What nonsense are you talking about, Andrea? In the Russian Federation, even within schools, real men facing such slander would stand up and play Russian roulette,” Professor Anton cast a puzzled glance at his colleague. ”Besides, didn’t he handle it quite well? He didn’t rely on violence against the students from start to finish. Instead, he gave the youth a sufficiently profound lesson, right?”

Andrea fell silent.

Then, Andrea remembered: this old man was a Russian Federation Man, bursting with martial vigor, someone who would treat a bare-chested fight in the snow as mere exercise. How could he care about such minor skirmishes? But that begs the question: just how intense does an incident need to be before he considers it violence?

”Don’t miss the point, Andrea.” Anton, holding a bear coffee mug his granddaughter had given him, took a sip and shook his head. ”Necessary violence, no matter how great, is never too much, and unnecessary violence, no matter how minor, should never be tolerated.

”If everything is resolved with violence, everything gets out of control. But if there’s no necessary violence, order will be utterly lost.

”Although repeatedly chopping off someone’s head for half an hour is a bit too improper, the youthful vigor of young people is something an old man like me, who can barely walk in winter, cannot compare with.”

”Alright, you always make sense,” the female professor finally grasped the old man’s cunning. He’s so crafty; I can never outtalk him.

”That just means I do have a point,” Professor Anton responded with a cheerful laugh.

In the days that followed, Huai Shi returned to his quiet and peaceful everyday life.

For such elective courses, the Ivory Tower’s schedule was very relaxed. Lectures were held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, all in the afternoon. This meant that if one wanted to slack off, there was plenty of time to do so.

Usually, after finishing the lectures, Huai Shi could still check on the progress of Wood Cottage and Yuan Yuan. As a member of the Lin family, Little Nineteen was especially embarrassing in this regard, making basically no progress at all.

He just couldn’t grasp the Sword Art: Ornament Play, partly because he lacked a foundation in music theory and partly because... he was afraid of pain.

His greatest wish is to lurk in a corner, quietly power up, and then stealthily defeat his enemies from afar... With such a student, who seemed like the reincarnation of an old schemer, Huai Shi was somewhat at a loss.

He didn’t know what else to teach.

Fortunately, Lin Nineteen came with a bunch of the Lin family’s Curse textbooks and the family’s Secret Rituals, equivalent to bringing his existing skills to a new master.

As long as Huai Shi occasionally provided some Source Crystals condensed from negative emotions, and incidentally gave pointers on how to control and utilize them, he was able to teach himself and succeed.

As for this single-minded devotion to not learning proper methods, Huai Shi was also helpless.

Lin Nineteen’s feelings were equally complex.

According to him, if Huai Shi had embarked on the Path of Karma, relying solely on those weapons condensed purely from negative emotions, he would have already been near the edge of the Fifth Stage by now.

This is no longer a Negative Energy Producer; this is a negative energy nuclear power station!

Therefore, he often looked at Huai Shi with a sense of helpless regret, as if lamenting a pearl cast into darkness, wishing he could drag Huai Shi into becoming his partner in crime.

To this, Huai Shi could only respectfully decline.

By contrast, Yuan Yuan’s progress was quite pleasing. She had firmly mastered the Beheading technique taught by Professor Huai Shi. The cost was that Yuan Zhao’s neck had often been swollen these past few days, occasionally even requiring a brace.

Having no idea what really happened, all Huai Shi could do was maintain sympathy and then intensify her training, hoping to finish teaching the complete insights on Beheading in these next two weeks.

In this process, what made Huai Shi even more delighted was that Yuan Yuan herself also possessed very solid violin skills. She faced absolutely no obstacles while learning the Performance Method, progressing smoothly and unhindered all the way.

In just a week’s time, she was already showing remarkable aptitude.

Her talent on the violin was quite exceptional. Now, at Huai Shi’s insistence, she had switched her daily swordsmanship practice to violin performance, starting again from the basics.

After each classical music appreciation lesson, she also received extra tutoring and guidance.

Given her rate of progress, if I grit my teeth and register with the Hell Music Association in the Abyss to get a few scores... perhaps in four or five years, she’ll have the foundation to become a Disastrous Musician.

The Old Yuan Family was quite considerate at this time.

Huai Shi didn’t even have to say a word. They directly gathered all of Hell’s violin scores available in the market and delivered them all to the Ivory Tower.

A part was given to Yuan Yuan, while the rest was for Teacher Huai Shi to ”critically appreciate.”

They even sent a complete encyclopedia on horse care.

His horse was really getting too fat; even Yuan Yuan couldn’t stand it anymore.

Finally managing to thwart Uncle Fang’s plan to raise a fat, home-bound creature, Yuan Yuan started taking the horse out to exercise daily at her little aunt’s place and had recently managed to help it slim down a bit.

As such uneventful days passed one after another, Huai Shi was astounded to discover that the Stigma of Soloist had actually changed, even if just a little bit.

His control over the Afterimage became increasingly smooth. Not only was the maximum distance of teleportation getting longer, but the preparation time was also gradually decreasing.

It’s grown!

Huai Shi hadn’t yet put his Abyss Horde plan into action, but Soloist’s Sky’s Command seemed to have already made some imperceptible progress?

After much thought, he eventually realized: Could teaching and educating also be counted as part of the ’growth of the young’?

As the students deepened their understanding and study of classical music, Huai Shi also felt the accumulation of a Correction Value so minuscule it was almost immeasurable.

Yuan Yuan alone contributed the vast majority of it.

If I can successfully guide Yuan Yuan to become a Disastrous Musician, I’ll definitely be able to make further progress. If I can popularize the Sword Art: Ornament Play, then there will certainly be a substantial amount of Correction Values to be gained.

But the problem is, the threshold for the Performance Method is really too high. Most Disastrous Musicians are already distinguished musicians; why would they bother with a life of fighting on the edge of a knife?

One cannot grow wealthy without windfalls. Relying on this method, earnestly teaching and nurturing... it would likely take twenty years for Soloist’s Sky’s Command to be fully realized.

Therefore, I must find other methods.

Huai Shi pinched his chin, examining the Abyssal Ecology course on the schedule. It was getting closer day by day, and he revealed a mischievous smile.

Whether I can make a killing depends on this.

He took out his phone, opened the Metatron Cube and Group of Thousands of Evils apps, then opened his address book, scrolling to find a phone number. It’s time to spend some money...

A week later, the Abyssal Ecology course proceeded on schedule to the topic of ’Abyss Plants’.

At half past seven in the early morning, before the class began, the deputy headmaster had already arrived early in the classroom, as usual. The vast lecture hall, capable of accommodating an entire year’s worth of students simultaneously, was still silent.

Only a few students who had arrived early stood up to salute. The deputy headmaster calmly waved his hand, signaling them to continue their self-study and not to mind him. After setting down his things at the teaching assistant’s desk, he bent down and began to review the lesson plan in his hands.

Students who arrived later paused as they passed by, nodding in salutation and greeting him in low voices.

This was not out of fear of his position, but respect for this teacher.

Regardless of his personality, this deputy headmaster had, for decades, maintained strict demands on teaching quality that had benefited countless people.

Moreover, being strict and dignified did not mean he couldn’t take a joke. Although he was unresponsive to some deadpan jokes, he never let his mood affect how he treated others.

He never sought a shred of personal gain using his official power. When it came to students’ questions, he never held anything back. This alone was enough to earn respect.

How could a man who was merely grim and critical become the deputy headmaster of the Ivory Tower?
